What is the best classic game ever?

What game form the time of the PLaystation and back is the best of all time? In my opinion it is a four way tie with all Final Fantasy's, MEtal Gear Solid 1, The Original Mario Brothers (the one for the orignial nintendo), and all LEgend of Zelda's! It is too hard to narrow it down from there
 
It's too hard to narrow down to just one game or series but I'm almost certain I'd end up nominating a platformer as my all-time top classic game. It would probably be one of the following:
Megaman X
Super Castlevania 4
Castlevania: Bloodlines
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Revenge Of Shinobi
Shinobi 3
 
Megaman X.....got so many great memories with that game! Super Mario is also a nice classic. But I'm still stuck with Secret of Mana...it's one of the best classics I've played IMO.
 
Great games on the PS1, NES, and SNES?
Unfortunately for me, I was kind of late in joining the gaming revolution. I had a NES toploader, but...the only games I had for it were Kirby, Ninja turtles, and Zelda. =x

Some of the best games ever created for PS1:
Final Fantasy VII
Star Ocean the Second Story
Vagrant Story
Chrono Cross
Legend of Legaia


I wish I had a copy of Chrono Trigger...so I could see what all the hype is about. =x
 
Chrono Cross is also amazing, but you definitely have to play CT Rhea. It's an awesome game, seriously!
 
Unfortunately, I gave me copy of chrono cross away...
My friend had been begging me to borrow it, so when I moved away, I just gave it to him. Now I can't seem to get my hands on it again. =x

Any other great classics??
 
Hmmm another one for the SNES: Terranigma

Absolutely amazing game. I still have it for my SNES and finished it a few montsh ago. I'm planning to play it again in the near future.
 
I'm thinking about getting into Zelda.
I just bought twilight princess for my wii and I love it.
And my bf has every single Zelda game on a compact disc for his gamecube. I'm starting to really like it. <333
 
My choices :
  • Chrono Trigger.
  • Super Mario RPG.
  • Earthbound.
  • Super Mario World.
  • Super Mario World II : Yoshi's Island.
  • Super Mario Bros I, II, and III.
  • Super Mario Kart.
  • Super Mario 64.
  • Tales Of Phantasia.
  • Star Ocean (SNES).
  • Bahamut Lagoon (Never released in America.)
  • Stunt Race FX.
  • Kirby Super Star.
I could go on and on, but I think this will do for now.
 
Sonic 1-3 and Sonic and Knuckles = pure win
Super Mario Land 3 for NES
Pokemon Red,Blue,Gold and Silver for GB
Vib Ribbon and Jade Cocoon for PS1
 
For lists like these I really wish some people would put some thought into this instead of going for the same goddam things, OoT and Mario World are class games but there has to be more that you've played.

I wish, I just WISH I had Star Ocean on the SNES.
I found it on ebay once, but it was an imported game for a couple hundred dollars. =[
I hear it's just as good as SO2...
