This title says it all when i say most insane i am talking about the most brutal and more leather tactics you used on against emerald weapon himself and no me and my dad haven't beat him yet he is only boss me and my dad haven't beat yet and if you have the most insane and brutal tactics really work you are always welcome to list.

Your weapons,armor and materia(s) you equipped and how did you use it and you are welcome to say your fastest time you beat/killed him too have fun and feel free to answer this and no it's not about me and my dad it's about you fellow fans have fun and enjoy :).

...are you implying your father is Emerald Weapon? Or that you're Luke Skywalker? :hmmm:

On topic: I forget if I ever beat Emerald Weapon, or how long it took me if I did. Which means I probably didn't. I think just spamming Omnislash or whatever works, though. That's what super moves tend to be for. FFVII fans, feel free to correct me.

*waits patiently for Channy to drop in*

i mean my dad tried to beat him and no luck and i haven't fought him on my own data either and this question is for all of the fans and yes you too :) :).

Just cast death and Knights of the Round, and mime it. All other matiera should be hp and mp plus, and all ultimate weapons.

Yeah, I spent countless hours leveling up in the hallway of the crashed Gelinka plane. I thought that area had the best ratio for EXP/AP with no real issues with poison or other status effects.

After that, I just spammed KOTR to death. I don't think Emerald got the chance to attack, but it was still a long fight because I'm too stubborn to turn off the summon animations.

I beat him once wayyyy back in the day. I remember doing it without Mime like most guides recommend. I know that my team was Cloud, Cid and Yuffie and I kept spamming their limit breaks and used the 4xcut Materia. I probably had Knights thrown in there somewhere, too. I also used Phoenix whenever I had someone fall.

I have an idea for a brutal onslaught for him but I wont know how successful it is until I try it.

1. Have Omnislash, Highwind, and Catastrophe [Cloud, Cid, Barret]
2. Have all three characters maxed out at 9999 a hit [In this case my characters are level 99]
3. Get all 3 characters limit breaks full; before the fight
4. Fury all 3 characters so that their Limit Breaks spam faster; before the fight
5. Have 3x 2x Cut Materia mastered to 4x Cut... one on each character
6. Have 3x mastered Restore materia... one on each character
7. Have a mastered Cover materia on Cloud [100%]
8. Any remaining slots on Clouds items are to be mastered Counter Attack materia [I think this is about 10 slots]

Every time Emerald WEAPON attacks, Cloud will take the hit... by taking all of the hits, 2 things happen.
1. Cloud Will counter-attack 8-10 times... dealing 80,000-100,000 damage
2. Cloud limit bar while fury'd will fill up quickly so that Omnislash can be used at least a second time

Here is my math estimation of how much damage would be deal out in what time.

-First round, all three limit breaks together would do around 400-500k right off the bat
-Emeralds first attack will cause itself another 100k life
-Second round will deal over 100k life
-Cloud second Omnislash is another 100k life

I'm thinking that within the first 3 rounds, I could deal 700-800k damage to it right away. He has 1 Million HP... so beating him in 4 rounds is entirely possible. It's probably not a first try win strategy, but I'm confident it could work.

I am almost fully capable of trying this... the only things I haven't got or done is Cid isn't my main [Probably level 80 or so and no limits leveled], one of my 3 2x Cut aren't at 4x Cut yet, I need 3 more Counter Attack materia. If I finished those things up [I'm a bit lazy atm, might not try it for a long time] I'm sure I could pull it off. I don't like using Mime and KotR... as not only do I hate watching the animations for 20 minutes, but I don't like using KotR/Mime as a crutch like everyone else.

Really like that strategy. Like you I used Cloud, Cid, & Barret with level 4 limit breaks and at level 99, I went in with limit gauges full and had fury on them. The Main difference is I had two each of Master Magic, Summon, and Command that I had for them, then I had one character with mastered final attack and mastered phoenix attached to it, and I left Cloud without the master command and used Counter-4x Cut. It took me a touch under twenty minutes and I was revived all 5 times i was allowed to and I finished him off with Omnislash and two Knights of the Round attacks in my final round.

Mime, Knights of the Round, and Phoenix worked for me. Haha. :whistle:

EDIT: Oh, and W-Summon.

I started with no Limit Breaks, Mime on all
Tifa had Kotr+HP Absorb Master Summon+MP Absorb Magic Plusx2 HP plus up to 9999 life and other stuff that are good. I think one or 2 slots had Speed Plus also and almost forgot, W-summon.
Cloud had Mime, Final Attack+Phoenix (incase of big bang attack which never happened) and other stat raising like Speed Plus and Magic Plus.
Cid har Mime, stat increasing Materias and some other materias needed to get up to level and Underwater Materia.

Just start spamming KotR 2 times and Mime everything. sure, the fight took looooooong time but he didnt do a single damage to me.

Same strat against Ruby except start with 2 dead, use Pheonix and there you go.

The most impressive strategy that worked for me was to solo him with Cloud. All it requires is the Yoshiyuki and Mystile equipped on Cloud, 4 mastered Counter Attack materia, 99 X-Potions and both allies dead.

Basically just keep healing yourself with X-Potions whilst he pummels you and you counter. On the occasion the Mystile forces a miss from him land a limit break or regular attack and keep going. His shoulder pads will jump in at regular intervals but the counters will deal with them. He has an attack which deals 1111 per materia equipped so you should stick to 4 or 5... what else... nothing imperative really, just a couple of points maybe:

- The accessory Champion Belt is good for more damage and physical defense.
- Omnislash is obviously a bonus.
- A high luck stat makes for more criticals. Google how to farm luck sources it's simple.
- Yoshiyuki is stronger than Ultima Weapon when two allies are dead. Not to mention the vast majority of the damage will be done after Cloud has taken a hit and UW's strength is dictated by Cloud's HP levels.

First you should probably go and grab the underwater materia. it kills the 20 minute timer.

next get the HP<---->MP materia while having 9999 hp. that means your MP becomes that. don't fret over having a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally low HP, that's why you then equip the final attack revive/pheniox combo. the only thing difficult about this is you have to get it as a chocobo racing gift, that's the only place you can find it. ensure each character has the above combos.

next you can either use KOTR + MIME (because really you have the MP to do it) and use plenty of turbo ethers if necessary.

you could also just use plenty of counter+deathblow, counter attack, limit breaks (level 4 of course), and as always the final attack revive combo. plus underwater materia.

a third strat you can use is :

First collect the underwater materia before you head into this battle. having it equipped eliminates the 20 minute timer and makes the fight much easier. you'll need alot of HP and MP to put up a decent fight. mastered materia are a must as are ultimate weapons. you'll want to use each of your materia as much as possible. try using W-summon to cast two knights of the round and have each of the members of your party equipped with Mime. if they can mime the summons you can cast an endless chain of knights of the round until the creature dies. also, equip as many characters as possible with the final attack-revive combination. this will help if the creature uses is ultimate attack or just gets a lucky shot. have lots of turbo ether on hand, since emerald weapon can drain your MP quickly.

my preferred party is Cloud, Vincent and Cid though with tifa's limit break, she's nice to have if you're lucky enough to land "YEAH!" on the slots each time lol. i'm not a huge fan of KOTR but it definitely works. but the underwater materia and final attack are a must no matter what you use.

I did this boss a very long time ago, it was a pain but beatable.
Nowadays FF have way easier bosses in my opinion.

I do not remember everything I had. My party was Cloud, Cid and Vincent
- KORT maxed; W-Summon to cast more than once and then Mimes;
- mp absorv if you can find place for it;
- maxed mp and hp plus;
- ultimate weapons;
- maxed luck plus, you have a good chance that emeralds ultimate attack misses (the attack takes 9999 to the party);
- you can have phoenix material to be res;
- 4x cut is also pretty useful.

Of course being able to get such a set up will take a pretty long time, but it is worth it.
