What is your favourite part in any FF?

what do you think is the greatest single moment in a final fantasy game? it can be a cutscene, dialogue, summon, quote, boss fight, or even a random battle

i have a couple:
FFX: the ending scene between Tidus and Yuna on the airship (beats FF8's cliched love story everyday in my book)

FF7: When you escape Midgar and realize just how big the world actually is (it was a gobsmacking moment for me personally)

I have quite a few favorite parts (already posted about it earlier) - but the one that really stood out was when Yuna and Tidus were both saying goodbye to each other towards the end. It was very emotional and even to this day, I get chills just seeing that scene unfold. Very well done and it really does tug at your heartstrings. At least it did mine anyway.

That is one of mine too... FF7 was the first FF I'd ever played. I hadn't realised the scale to FF's, and thought I was nearing completion with the end of Midgar... But no! That was only the begining! I was gobsmacked that the story had only just begun, and hooked even more from then on.

Other great moments... Wow... Theres a lot to choose from.

I think for me in FF6 when the gate to the land of the Espers
is broken and you see them all escape (or something)... Something really powerfull in that scene.
Can't remember details of it though...
Also loved the coin toss scene. Very powerfull to me. Showing how the toss of a coin affected the fate of two identical brothers, and how one brother went to lead one life and the other remained as king.

FF7... Had a few but one of the greatest scenes was the plate falling
onto Sector 7 and flattening everyone, which President Shinra stood and watched, listening to opera music.

Also loved Red XIII crying over the loss of his
dad upon discovering that he was really a hero, not a coward.

Cid on realising that Shera
wasn't incompetent and stupid, but actually had saved his life.

Barrett's flashback with Dyne, and then the reunion with Dyne,
Dynes madness, and his subsequent suicide.
FF5 - when you meet ExDeath for the first time. Or see ExDeath the first time. I just remember thinking "Oh god, something BIG has just been woken!". His entrance was probably one of the scariest villain entrances of all of the games... The other villains start off active and commiting crimes, or descending into them gradually... But ExDeath is a bad cookie who is ressurected, and you know just how powerfull he is going to become and feel genuinly terrified... Well not really, but as far as fear goes on these games!

FF9 - The opening sequence! All of it! Easily the best, most comedic, and greatest introduction to the characters ever seen in an FF game!

FF4 -
Cid blowing himself up left an impact on me
.. If only because he was bonkers for doing it... Why didn't he just
toss the dynamite overboard instead of jumping off with it?!
And laughing his head off in Brian Blessed style while doing it?!

All powerfull (and often not praised enough) scenes.
 
FFIV - After You Defeat The Guard And King Baron, When You Walk Out Of The Room, The Next Rom Closes In On You. Your About To Get Crushed! The Twin Black & White Mages In Your Party, Touch Each Side Of The Wall, And Turn Themselves Into Stone, To Save The Rest Of The Party From Getting Crushed. What A Sacrifice!

FFVII - The Whole Shinra Building Scene. If I Remember, You Can Barge Through The Front Door, Or Go Through The Sewers. And DOn't You Fight Rufus On The Roof? The Motor Cycle Scene Was Great Too...

FFVIII - Whe You Start The Nextt Disc As Laguna.. Really Unexpected lol...

FFX - Fighting The Summoner In The Cavern Of The Stolen Fayth. somethign about that sad eerie music and the stryline with lulu and wakka feelin bad cuz she died on the last pilgramage

FFX-2 - 100% completion (everyones fav part, lol)
nah uh.. i'd say.. when you beat up the guards and take there clothes and sneak into leblanc's house

FFXI - my fav part has gotta be the job classes in general. wooo!

FFT - Whenever Another Character Would Help You In Battle But You Can't Control Them. They Had SOme Crazy Job CLasses. I Dont Rememebr Em Though. I Know One Was A "Divine Knight"

Oh Yeah And Getting Cloud In FFT, he wasn't as strong as my top soldier, but just the fact of having him..
 
I think my favourite part would be when Yuna loses some of her naivety in front of Lady Yunalesca- I started to like her then and I started to realise the meaning of the story...call me slightly dense but I don't think that I fully knew what was going on before that, and I think that is really far into the game too!

Yes! Actually that was probably another one of my fave scenes from that game... But FF4 had so many great scenes.

That was quite possibly my favourite bit of the game. Always tried to hunt that theme afterwards... I think it was Lulu's theme.

I never saw it to the end, but I saw the begining of that zombie-alien looking white (as in pale white as a ghost) boy that looked really freaky. That cutscene started to convince me that FFXI had actual stories to it as well as the little quests and stuff.

FFIV:Rydia re appearance,The scene between Cecil and Rosa with Theme of Love playing,Palom and Porom sacrifice

FFVI:arriving to Narsche(Terra's theme playing),Terra first morphing,Opera Scene,The Beggining of The World of Ruin(Celes attemp of you know what),Terra's transformation in Mobliz when the kids didn't recognize her.

FFVII:meeting Tifa,Elmyra's past(the first time they played Aerith theme),the date with Tifa,Aerith death,Tifa finding Cloud in Mideel,Lifestream Sequence,Highwind scene.

FFVIII: the ball scene,Edea assasination plan,attack on Balamb,scene between Squall and Rinoa in the Ragnarok,Squall rescuing Rinoa form sorceres memorial,The ending(best in FF story)

FFIX: Vivi reaction at the slaughter of the black mages,Zidane hearing Garnet sing,Beatrix reflections in the red Rose,Eiko's love letter confusion,Garnet cutting her hair,Garnet's origins in Madain Sari,"You're Not Alone" scene.

FFX:sending scene,Suteki Da ne,the wedding,the whole Zanarkand thing,the ending
 
I love the part in the begining when locke says "im not a theif im a treasure hunter"! also i liked the part of final fantasy 9 when quinna gets married to Vivi.
 
I have many, I will just state my favorites.

FFV - All the Gilgamesh appearances on the game, I loved especially when he appeared in the boat with Enkido, when he was defeated he said something like: "Its no fair I shouldn't be the only one on the Drink" and above all I loved when he
sacrificed himself against Necrophobe
, were he talked with all the characters, that was kinda sad and funny at same time.

FFVI - Kefka's crazyness along the game, especially when the castle submerges and he shouts: "You son of a submariner" and his laugh his Epic.

Also, every Ultros appearence, especially the momments with Relm when he became soft.

FFIX - Quina catching frogs, and when he "Commit" suicide and was fished later. XD

FFX - Every momment of the game, but my favorite parts were the beginning FMV, Luca tournament, and when the story ended... It was very touching seeing the Dream disappearing and thus a love story has ended.(?)
 
Favorite parts, huh? I have a few to share.

IV: Yang sacrificing himself to save his friends and the dwarves from the Super Cannon that had exploded in the Tower of Babil.

VI: Celes stabbing Kefka on the Floating Continent.

VII: Red XIII trying to stand on his hind legs on the ship which carries you from Junon to Costa del Sol.

VIII: Rinoa kicking Irvine down a flight of steps for "acting so cool" when rescuing her at the D-District Prison.

X: When Auron appears at Luca stadium ready to attack the monster, Vouivre.
 
VI: Kefka is general and all the hilarious things he says.
"You sound like a self- help book!"
VII: As my favorite game, I have quite a few including the cross dressing scene, Aerith's death, when you leave midgar, and Tifa and Cloud's alone time before going to fight Sephiroth. Also in part where Vincent actuall says something.
"...Cool? Hmm....I guess that's just how I am, sorry."
VIII: The beginning because when VIII first came out, that was the best looking FMV I'd ever seen. Also, when Irvine hesitates to shoot Edea, but does it annyways. The Only moment he truly got to shine, which was unfortunate.
"Why guns and women of course!"
IX: Zidane was a really fun main character and his best moment is when grabs Garnet's butt. That was hilarious.
"Ohh, Soft."
X: Auron is awesome especially that speech towards the end.
"This is your story."
XI: Fighting the avatars was so excited and it just got your adreline going everytime especially Fenrir and Diabolos
XII: That part towards the end when Baltheir is hurt and he has his sweet moment with Fran. Also, any scene with Basch and Gabranth. The awkardness of them are very intrigueing.
"I'm the leading man."
 
IV-When Yang saves the party time when they are fleeing the giant, or when the dwarves and the upper world assualt the giant. I also like the part before the fight with Zeromus.

VII- When palmer gets hit by the truck, and all the genova battles. And the scene with Emerald at ?Junon? (forget name). And when Aeris.................ya

VIII- When Squall gets electocuted ( i would just leave it at that and sit there for minutes)

X- When they battle sin with that giant Machina cannon (again, forget name of place; the place before you et Ixion) OR when the team assualts Bevelle
 
Tidus and Jecht reconciling at the end of FFX. Throughout the game you come to think that Jecht is an over-bearing prick and drunk who doesn't give a shit about his son, and that Tidus is a whiney bitch choir boy who cries at the drop of a dime.

However, you have to put yourself in their shoes. Jecht was flooded with fame as a Blitzball player when Tidus was younger and who knows, maybe it all went to his head. Tidus was without a strong male figure in his life due to his dad being out of the picture most of the time. If his dad wasn't out blitzing for a living, he was out boozing for a hobby. Tidus' main influence was his mother. Could it possibly be that his mother was also crying as a result of the person Jecht had turned into, and therefore Tidus picked up on the notion that "it's ok to cry since mother cries" sort of thinking?
 
I have quite a few favorites as well xD

FFVII: The lifestream scene with Cloud and Tifa- This was just such a sweet moment in the game in my opinion. I loved watching Tifa help Cloud delve through his complicated memories to find the real him. I absolutely love the line where Tifa asks Cloud who he was trying to impress and he says, "Who?.. You, that's who!" That's just so unbelievably sweet ^^ I also love the Highwind scene.

FFVIII: The dance scene is probably my favorite from this game. I love how Rinoa is able to get Squall out of his shell, even if it is just for a moment. The amv where Rinoa finds Squall lost in time is really sweet as well, as is the ending.

FFIX: Favorite out of this one would have to be the ending. The reunion between Zidane and Garnet is a real tear-jerker.

FFX: I love the whole wedding sequence, as well as the ending. Yuna's dress was really beautiful!

FFXII: I quite like the wedding scene in the beginning of this one as well, cept it's ruined shortly thereafter by the groom's death :/
 
Wow, this is a big list So I'll just put one. Favorite part in any FF..... When Aerith Died. Was such a shock and really helped the story along.

FFIV - when cecil turns from dark knight to paladin

FF VI - Opera scene, not that i liked it but coz it made me realise that it was a real fantasy world if that makes any sense, not just a world full of towns with weapon shops in it

FFVII- proberly the speach cloud makes on the highwind after Tifa helps recover his memories on disc...3 i think?

FFVIII- when squall risks his life and goes into space to save rhinoa, it just nice to see how far he came from a emotionally detached emo to someone who is willing to risk his life and confess his love for someone else

FFIX- well everybody likes the ending scene, the countless vivi children, Eiko with adopted parents, Zidane and Garnet/Dagger being reunited

FFX- the ending, where tidus disapears and jumps off the ship, so emotional, and something i havnt seen at the end of a game before

FFX-2 - 1000 words song in the thunder planes

FFXII - um...ive completed it once so cant really recall my fav atm (ill update it soon)

FF7 DOC- when vincent is in his chaos form but cannot control it and then the girl (forgot the name) gives him the protomateria)
