This question is kind of tricky so basically what game is or was the hardest game you ever played? but to go with that is how long did it take you to beat that game? so yep What was or what is the hardest game you ever played and how long did it take you? yeah i know it's hard or tricky anyway enjoy and if you up for it please tell us why or how is it so hard and take your time

Tetris.

Yoep, Tetris. I never finished it. It starts out all fun and innocent. But that shit gets hard, fast (that's what she said).

Aladdin on Sega Megadrive.
That shit was hard, I never got past the cave of wonders.

Then Alex the Kid on Sega Megadrive.
Again never got past the second level.

Old games were so hard! New ones, even an idiot like me can finish them.

Guitar Hero. I fucking suck at Guitar Hero. Seriously, I have to keep it on Easy mode to do any good. Other than that, Ninja Gaiden was pretty hard. The kind of hard that makes you want to throw controllers, but it was still fun in it's own way.

I have a few..

NES - Punch Out!

Jesus fucking Christ! I don't see how anybody can beat Tyson. I've studied his motions, but I can't move fast enough for the bastard. I've knocked him down once and that'll be good enough for me.

PS3 - Guitar Hero 3/Ninja Gaiden

The game as a whole is really easy on Expert, but that damn Dragonforce song...I can make it about 75-80% through it and my fingers/arm start to cramp up and I lose it.

Ninja Gaiden's difficulty is just unrelenting. I can do just fine on the normal/hard modes, but everything above that and you can forget about it. Whoever has platinumed this game is a God amongst men and should be worshipped by all.

NES:
-metroid
-Castlefreakingvania!! I actually had the patience to finish this game.. FUCK YOU GRIM REAPER! Oh god.. But it was still awsome

The hardest game for me was Persona 1 on the PSP. I was reading up about an additional side quest, the Ice Queen. I was naive. I didn't know any better. I grinded on that game for around 20-40 hours and STILL didn't beat the Ice Queen's stupid dungeons. This is at the very beginning of the game as well. so I know NOTHING of the storyline to P1.

The hardest part was the final castle. You start out with one party member personaless (main or Yukiko) which makes you a one hit wonder until you get it back. Then if any of your party members die in the dungeon then they lose their personas as well and you have to travel to the Gates of Hell inside of the 2nd floor (which is also 2 floors) just to get it back. Every time they die. EVERY TIME.

I've never raged so hard at a game.

Then I learned the motto for the game creators : "If you aren't crying, it isn't hard enough" and was kay.

Project Zero/Fatal Frame

That was arduous for me in virtue of the fact that it's easily one of the creepiest games I've ever touched, and I'm willing to bet it is one of the creepiest game franchises to exist alongside other beloved horrors like Amnesia. Now, it has been years since I touched it, and I have entertained the idea of trying the series out again with the new Wii release on the horizon just to see how long I will last this time around.

I'm not predicting sudden superhuman progress though. I'm still easily scared, and Fatal Frame does a fantastic job of making you as a gamer feel totally frail while you're pitted in a den of Japanese wraiths and malevolent spirits. A gamer of greater steel can probably easily accomplish what I have found to be difficult though, so uhh, yeah, gamers with balls out there, please play this game. :wacky:

In terms of hardcore-kick-your-arse-regularly difficult games, there's Megaman. I sucked at it as a kid, and I will likely still suck at it today. Sadly, I've not yet touched Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, else they would likely be obvious additions to my list as well.

has to be pokemon gold for me (I know i'm a sado) :wacky:

very good game, but my god it was hard in places........ I love picking a fire pokemon soo I went for a cynderqull, great plan til I got to the thrid gym, hello whitney........ normal pokemon that super easy 'sends out milktank'......... 5 days later...... That Cynderqull killing, rollout spamming, milk drinking mother dam of a COW!!!!! why must you murder me for the 25th time :rage:

Persona 3, i have played nes and snes games and P3 has been the game that i more remember how hard was, im talking of the Tartarus bosses the Full moon bosses were a joke, and the Final Boss owned me very hard a runner up would be Gradius for PS2 oh boy how hard that one was until you have enough lives to die as you please.

By far it was Tomb Raider: Chronicles. My brother and I got stuck for one week in the last Ireland level. When we finally got out of there, we felt like a huge weight was taken from our backs :rage:, without to mention the fact that I saved in a place with no ways to come back later (hung in a place inside the building of Von Croy with fire coming out), so I had to begin the game all over again (but looking back now, I love the Ireland levels, they're well designed)!

And I don't include Cybernator because it's not hard, it's impossibe :).

I think most of you will agree with me when I say:
SUPER MEAT BOY.

Holy hell that game made me rage SO HARD. I never did make it past the Hell levels because they were too hard for me to handle, and when I did complete one of them, they pretty much mocked how badly I did. :sad3:

Oh, and Dark Souls, I never made it past the first boss.

1st hardest game:
Quest For Camelot on Gameboy Color -Ho-ly-fuckthisgamewashard.

I got this game when I was little and it basically just threw you into battles from the get go with little health, no items, and a sword. This game was based off the disney movie but it's story was completely different and much darker! You play as that chick from the movie but you have to explore dark locations, constantly grind to get health & new sword swings(And if you didn't grind there was now way in hell you could defeat the next enemy type which was like insanely hard since you couldn't level up your weapons or abilities.), and look for items in a puzzle maze of maps with slim corridors filled with robot looking knights that could kill you in two hints. It took me a year to get past the first castle alone! Then it took another year to grind through all of the levels until the last battle where you finally fight the big baddie. The big baddie was hard as hell so I never beat him until I got much older and decided to pick the game up again.

2nd:
Vagrant Story for the Ps1

I'm only saying this was hard because I'm still lost in the first dungeon. -__- Like, the story is interesting and the battles are fun but the dungeon is so confusing. :rage:

3rd and hardest so far:
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 for DS :ahmed:

As if the last game wasn't enough of a typical grindfest the sequel turns up the grinding notch to max level. In DS 1 I had to completely grind to the max to defeat the last boss(This was only to get a particular ending) and it took months. This game has me grinding as hard as I can for a stupid Sub boss as I haven't been able to finish the game once. While the story, demon fusion, and the multiple endings are totally worth playing through it multiple times, the grinding needed to even get past certain enemies is just ridiculous. :mokken:

Resonance of Fate springs to mind, for being horrendously unforgiving of even the tiniest of mistakes. You start with three Bezels - which is nowhere near enough - and once you're in Critical Condition, you may as well be dead. Caligula was enough to make me ragequit the game for nearly a year and, even when I picked it up again, it seemed determined to put me down: half the time I wasn't fighting will a full party (hell, at one point I had to fight a boss with ONE CHARACTER) and the other half at the end of the game it was so brutal that I wondered why I was playing it. RoF was CRUEL. This is without considering the New Game+ options, where enemies just get even stronger...yeah.

Demon's Souls was somewhat hard as well, if only because of Flamelurker and his inability to JUST DIE. Dark Souls was ridiculously easy by comparison, at least for me; it was the first game that made me want to kill something, if only to make up for the number of times I'd died.

Also, Baten Kaitos. I still have nightmares about the trio of Giacomo, Ayme and Folon...who you have to fight twice, back to back, at one point in the game. Never mind that Giacomo and Folon are pretty hard by themselves, but all three at once...gods. Then there was the Emperor, who could (and often did) instantly kill one of your party members, The Angel of Darkness, who had a paralysis-inflicting fetish, and the final boss, who you either killed within your first round or played an annoying seesaw game you inevitably lost as he used an attack that drained your health and restored his. I love the game, but I fucking hate it as well.

Warzone 2100, no doubt was the hardest game ever. I could get to level 4 or 5 (i think) but then couldn't get any further - it was impossible even on the Easy setting. This level had a 2 hour time limit but trying to defeat the enemy in this time-period just wasn't possible and even if you had double the time I don't think you'd be able to do it. I kept starting the game up over and over again and spending ages building up my army and improving my base on the earlier levels so that I had a better chance of progressing past the difficult level but I couldn't do it. Eventually I cheated to get past this level but the next was equally as hard - eventually I cheated just to get to the end of the game because the storyline was good but the game was ruined by its difficulty.

For me , it has to be the first ninja gaiden game on the orginal xbox , it was not easy by any means in fact i am ashamed to say it took me over a year to finish it as i gave up on it at one point

This friggin' thing. The entire time it was a frustration-fest of cheap falls and quirky, unfinished level design. Unfinished like the game as a whole. It was a depressing sight of missed potential and insufferable gameplay. Fighting the actual enemies in this game wasn't so hard due to their AI being totally broken throughout, but the damage they dealt was usually a lot on your character. Ah, this game is a sad story behind game development. I wish it could have been what it was supposed to be.

I do agree Resonance of Fate is quite the difficult game. It is quite cruel and doesn't give mercy on little mistakes. I am not very far into the game, but I'm playing it right now and it's pretty hard. It requires so much thinking and concentration, but the battles are epic to watch, especially accompanied by its soundtrack. I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, though. I don't think I'm coming close to rage-quitting or disliking it.

Ultimate Spider-Man (DS)

Horrible game. It was so hard to control. Boss fights were dang near impossible to get through. I never want to see that game again. :p

Superman Returns (DS)

I don't know how this game was even released. It's fricken terrible. I never got passed the first 5 minutes! I swear I was gonna throw the game into the ocean.

Shadowgate Classic.

STILL have not beaten it! The puzzles are absolutely crazy and I just can't get passed this bridge part! I need to find some way to play it again. If anyone reading this knows of where I can find it, please tell me :O

Embarrassing for me to say, but Space Channel 5 (although I just LOVE the game).

I could never get the timing right for the game :(
