I want the best weapon of them all, for pretty much each character.

So far I dont understand shit of the upgradesystem. Im completely in the dark. It just doesnt make sense.

Does it matter at all what items I put into the weapon? What choices should I make?

Should I just wait for the ultimate weapon and start to upgrade it, or should I upgrade every weapon for each character?

this is what i do buy 36 ooze things and get 40-50 crankshafts all together its about 25-30k save use all 36 ooze thangs to get x3 and then use all the crankshafts you should get the star lvl if not restart from save and buy more crankshafts each weapon has 26lvl to start then transform it then 40lvl then transform it then 100lvl and the weapon to do well is all up to you some have stats and others are just for magic and others are for just strength so its all up on how your char are playing hope this helped good luck oh and you should lvl a weapon for each char

Note to self, good guide here. http://guides.ign.com/guides/826843/page_2.html

So how do I get these weapons. How to I get the Lionheart.
And what items should I upgrade it with?

Lets say I get this weapon. I go into upgrade, I chose items-menu, and in the menu I choose what...?

All my weapons are still level one, in chapter 9. Is that bad?

Finalblackmage. If I read the guide you linked to correctly, all of Lightnings swords can become Omega Weapon? So its the same result in the end for upgrading each weapon?

the lion heart is not available till chapter 12/13, you can buy i in a wepons shop for around 25,000 but i managed to find it in a treasure chest at the beginning of one of those chapters ( i think it was 12).

as for up grading its pretty simple
- creature comforts sells components dropped by beasts, these cost around 80 gil each, buy as much of these as you see fit to get the EXP Bonus up to X3, NOTE: you don't need to use 99 of one item to get to X3 just use around 30 of the items purchased.

- Lenoras Garage sells machine parts, these parts offer the most experience which is why you want to use them only when you have reached a X3 exp bonus, i normally buy the most expensive items for sale and buy as much as i can.

once you have purchased these items head to the upgrade area and upgrade the weapon of your choice

ohh i should also mention, creature components add to the EXP Bonus, Machine Components Remove the bonuse so becareful you might have to use creature components to boost the EXP back up after a certain amount of levelling

THIS WILL REQUIRE ALOT OF GIL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO GET TO MAX WEAPONS, TREPEZOHEDRONS (i think thats what they are called) cost around 100.000 gil or it could be 1 million im not sure.

hope this helps. if not ahh well it was fun to write

I'm pretty sure Treps cost around 2,000,000.

Upgrading took me a while to understand. Thankfully, I think I finally got it. I'll break it down the best I can for you.

Organic components break down to give you multipliers. The best multiplier is x3. I usually just use x36 Sturdy Bones to give me the x3 multiplier. It's just something I remember easy.

Mechanical components drop your multiplier while usually giving you more EXP value. Thus, it's best using a large quantity (being sure not to go over the EXP cost of achieving "star" level for your weapon. No need to waste components) so you won't have to keep resetting your x3 multiplier.

What I had a hard time understanding was certain components doesn't add any special abilities to your weapons or accessories. It's as simple as "better components give you better XP". Therefore, I pretty much sale everything except the really good stuff. Crankshafts, Superconductors, and Particle Accelerators.

Everyone's "ultimate weapon" comes from any initial weapon. That means all Snow's weapons become "Save the Queen", all Lightnings weapons become "Omega Weapon", and so on. It's all personal preferance based on the initial abilities each weapons have. Whatever abilities or added stats the initial form has the ultimate form (generally) inherits it.

Hope this helped a bit.

Does that mean the ultimate weapon can change depending on which one you started with? Are their recommendations for which weapon you should be upgrading to be the ultimate, or are all of them pretty close in stats?

When dismantling a weapon, does it give you all the items you put in back?

I have loads of drops from fights. Some of them are very few, some of them are many. Should I sell them all, or put them into weapons?

Yes, depending on what weapon you start with, the ultimate weapon will have different stats. It's usually personal preference based on your characters roles but I'll go ahead and let you know what I used.

Lightning - Lionheart
Vanille - Healing Rod
Hope - Hawkeye
Sazh - Rigals
Snow - Umbra
Fang - The Taming Pole

I don't really do dismantling much, however, I'm almost positive it doesn't give back what you put in. I'm pretty sure there's a set list of component(s) that each weapon or accessory gives you no matter what you put into it.

As far as what to use and sell, it's really up to you. Take a look at the EXP values and see what you got going. However, as I said before, I usually sell everything and buy Ultracompact Reactors and Sturdy Bones. If there weapon is really close to "star" level then I may use something like Crankshafts.

So you can buy all the necesary items for making the ultimate weapons? I dont need to sell anything?

If thats the case, then Im gonna sell all the crap I have, or add it into lightnings sword.

I guess I will be needing some help on how to make money later. If this is timeconsuming, like 50-hour consuming, I´m just gonna drop it. The game is not that good anyway.

All the good items for upgrading can be bought, yes. Selling useless components and other loot would be a good idea.

One question

Does every weapon when break down to a new weapon? the reason why i ask is because i have a * Vega 42s for Sazh that is not breaking down to another usealbe weapon? Am i doing something wrong...?

You have to use some sort of transformation catalyst to make it transform once you reach the max level of that weapon.

Im having serious trouble understanding this.
I have bought the lionheart, and added 36 sturdybones. Now what do I do?

Can somebody give me short, step by step instructions on how to turn this thing into omega weapon?

Well people have talked to you for a while now and have pretty much said all there is to say.

step 1 - level your weapon/accessory to max level.
step 2 - use components to change weapon/accessory into something better
step 3 - repeat until you reach max weapons/accessory at max level.

I have a hard time finding the money to level up each characters weapons. Although I do try to keep 1 of every item, leveling up is still time consuming. You may not have trouble with it, its pretty easy.

Categorize your components and they organic should be at the top and special components that change the name of weapons/accessories will be at the bottom. So its multipliers (organic), Great EXP (mechanical) and then specials that change weapons/accessories into better ones. in that order you should be able to tell which is which by a symbol.

to use components you want to use organic to get the multiplier then you want to use the mechanical ones that give the most exp. Try to use a bunch of a single mechanical component to abuse the multiplier to the fullest.
