I'm a european so I just started this game. I am just going to go hunt down Judge Ghis. But I wonder, have I missed any espers? I've heard thats the summons in the game.

Theres hidden espers in the game, but your a long ways from getting any of the hidden ones, and then theres story line espers, you get your first esper in the *spoiler* tomb of raithwall, then you get none for the longest time, then you get another. You get the stroyline ones very very very far apart, and then like a said theres a few hidden ones but you have to be way higher level to even attempt to get them. Its not like it matters though, the summonings in this game are freekin useless.

I wanna get everything anyways. But for you who may have completed the game. Is it possible to do much of the collecting in the end of the game like previous titles? Or is there some things I have to keep my eyes open for that I can't ever get again once I pass a certain point in the game?

search some guides on the internet, there are lots of them.

but if you want some "advice" , the espers are pretty easy to get.

Really? If you don't have a guide on how to get Zalera..it isn't going to be easy.

I would write up Esper locations..but it's best to check an FAQ for extra help. If I remember correctly..you can get at least 5 official summons. I don't know if there are anymore.

Many are optional. XD

yeah there is a total of 13 espers
zodiark is the hardest to get
the first one you get is belias which is after ghis

you get the first esper once you do the next part of the game
it is located in the next dungeon (raithwells tomb)

Threads like these belong in the Help Booth ^_^ I'll move it there for you
*moved*

You get Adramalech at the Zertinan Cave, which is in Ozmone Plain. But there's a problem, you won't be able to hit him with swords so you'll need long range weapons to hit him and also the monsters there are gping to be a pain for you if you are not at least level 34.

Doesnt sound like my first esper?
Also, could someone answer my other question? How is backtracking layed out in this game? Is it possible to play the largest chunks of the game, ignoring sidequests, then to go back and do them all later?

also at this point in the game I have been unable to buy new guns for Balthier, how come the weapon shops dont have guns ?

Yeah you can do almost all of the sidequests except one very alte in the game, and don't worry; that one sidequest is just finding out town gossip or collecting cherry stems or something. It's pretty retarded.

As for the main chunk of sidequests, I'd say give them a try before you head into the final area: aboard the Bahamut.

As for the guns for Balthier or anyone really, test out different locations. I can guarentee that better guns will be sold in Mt Bur-Omisace as opposed to Rabanastre.

Great, now I have another question.
If one character already has 3 quickenings, will he not be able to equip an esper?

Does espers counts as quickenings? Or is it possible to have 3 quickenings and 3 espers each?

Espers dont count as quickenings so you can have as a
many as you like but only one person can have 1 esper so if vaan gets zodiark then noone else can get zodiark :)

Just one bit of advice if you're looking to get all the Espers in your first go:
don't sell an item called the Great Serpent's Skin ( I'm not sure what it's called in English but that's a rough translation ) which you get from one of the first hunts, it's essential for one of the Espers.

thanks it said so in the guide as well so I kept it, but is that the only time you get it? cant you get it elsewhere?

nope you cant although i thought the great serpent skin only gave you an extra golden ammy once you did the barheim key quest?

I just had a level frenzy in the desert oilrig thing, got a spear and a new gun thats really powerfull for baltier, every person is balanced and such now.

I had greatly misunderstood something about quickenings on the licenseboard. I thought that each quickening was put a specific spot and that it was my job to make each character get his quickening on those right spots, but now I found out that no matter what quickening you take, the character will have his dedicated ones anyway.

So whats next in my line of questions? Well already at level 20 with all of the characters, I have 2/3 of the licenses covered, so where do I buy the hot magics etc?
