When parents give us really wierd names.....

This is going to be incredibly lame (as I don't know Geography/how to spell). But...is your name Sahara? ^.^

Meh, mine is boring its just plain old kelly ( my mother decided to name me after one of the Charlies angels:rolleyes:)

Altho, aware that that is not an unusual name, I hasten to add that my dad wanted to call me Porscha....for no other reason than he thought it was funny.......and also I dont think he would have gotten away with calling me Suzuki or Kawazaki (altho that would have been pretty cool lol seeing as I love all things motorbikey)

Lord, no. Otherwise I would have legally changed my name by now. :P I actually thought about changing my name a few times but it seemed like too much effort.

I really hate my given name, though it actually doesn't sound too bad when it's translated

My given name is Li Fen which means beautiful fragrance, or other words beautiful smell. I don't know what my parents were thinking but It's a really uncommon combination for chinese, and I honestly can't stand the name.

I've never cared enough about my name to wonder why I was given it. I think I was named after some random baseball player from the 70s or 80s. Probably my dad's influence...

I like my name, though. Von isn't very common, so I'm not easily confused with other people.

It was my dad who called me Alexis. Personally I hate it. My mum wanted to call me Carolanne. These are not exactly irish names.

My parents are weird. They combined their names (mom's first three letters of her name, and dad's last three letters of his name.) and voila, ME. =/ Now that they're not together...I keep wondering if it offends my stepmom whenever she calls me by my first name, lol.

Haha, If my parents had done that I would be called Stevin :P

I hate my name, it's so boring. Especially compared to my friends who have long exotic names, like Carafilia McDonald Laing Siskou, Ruth Marie Rose Elizabeth Small, etc. And I'm just Jane Turner =/ My parents say that they called me 'Jane' because it can't be shortened to anything o_O Same with my sister, Cara. Jokes on them though, people usually lengthen my name instead =P

With all sincerity, I prefer your name above those ones you mentioned. Carafilia? WTF? And here I was thinking my name was bad...

LOL, well she is Greek.. it means 'Carnation'. Everyone calls her Cara though. I didn't actually know that it had the 'filia' on the end until a teacher read it out in class on the register.

My name is freakish, and unlike Laro, it is incredibly Irish.
It's Deirdre, which ages ago meant sorrow in Irish, mostly because of the story to go with it, called Deirdre of the Sorrows. Basically there was this girl, and she was babelicious, so her dad locks her up for most of her life so all the men don't go chasin her. She looks out the window one day, and this guy sees her, and they run away together. the dad chases them, kills the boyfriend, so the girl jumps into the river.

Now that, my friends, is emo.

You hate it?! I think that Alexis is a really pretty name if you ask me. ^_^

I really like Alexis, my name is the dullest ever so it could be worse ^_^
