When was the last time you were harassed and attacked for mentioning a Final Fantasy game you enjoy?

No one gives a shit about job system outfits in other games.

Funny how most criticisms are things people love about their favourite games, and yet they bitch about it when a game other people enjoy does it.
Unlike most people on this forum, I won't show you any kindness if you keep it up. So I can play this game of yours if you want.

Moving on: The Miqo'te Garb for example from LR is one Lightning specifically says isn't her style.

I am not concerned with job systems in other games. I am providing my own observations off of a character that I've seen go through several phases over the course of 3 games.

wtf is going on in this thread lol

I can't remember ever being 'harassed' over which FF game I enjoy, but attacked? Yeah obviously, welcome to the Internet.

But that doesn't mean anything you disagree with is a personal attack, or even aimed at you or anyone for that matter.

I can provide some criticism toward that. Lightning is somebody that is defined by her actions, not so much what she wears. To say the least, there were several garbs that I know for a fact that she would never wear herself. I understand the developers wanted to aim for her to be dressed to what a player likes, but I think there should be consideration for the character's personality when it isn't a blank canvas.

I would agree in some sense, but I also am not sure it's a big enough deal to be concerned over. If one is, they then should be giving equal concern to the fact that she can somehow get her hands on clothing from different times/planets/etc. in the form of the DLC costumes for other characters. Realistically I think it's very much a minor concession made for gameplay's sake. It's kind of like, how in the hell does a Materia spawn a Chocobo and a Mog? Why is every character in XII capable of using like any weapon just fine?

Also, you disagreeing with me is starting to feel like harassment. Stop it, or I'll post about you on this thread! ;)

Well just look at Overwatch as a prime example of Devs staying true to character rather than just over sexualising and using characters as cash cows to milk dry for DLC dollars -

I can't really argue with that logic. Lightning in a frilly dress just looks stupid and purely done for pre-pubescent boys to get a glimpse up her thigh by manipulating camera angles :-)mokken: and don't even try and convince me y'all haven't done that)

Alternate costumes is a well known and well liked mechanic in games but it needs to be relevant. Theres only so much room for Dead Or Alive style costumes in the world and I've seen enough virtual cleavage looking through the latest 'DLC' on the PS store.

but yeah I agree with Tom pretty much regarding the actual topic (hint hint guys..) - disagreement is the Internet in a nutshell , it doesn't mean it's abuse or harassment.

I'm guessing you didn't give a fuck about X-2, did you? Why would you? That's a game that's a sequel to a game you enjoyed, as opposed to one other people didn't and you have to be an asswipe to the people who did because you realize how Square Enix knows they're not all braindead morons like you?

Alright, I'm about 90% convinced he's either a troll, or he's ten years old. That's why he's ignoring rational posts/sections of posts, and arguably why he made a thread about being harassed by 'Final Fantasy haters'... only to do nothing but blindly harass people in the fanbase.

Granted, he's doing it wrong. The goal of a troll is to get other people to fight amongst themselves, not to fight with you.

Oh, but maybe it's a 'social experiment' :P

Anyway, back on topic, I think the line drawn between abuse/harassment and disagreement, is when one begins to attack the person themselves or their motives. Not only is that a clear indication of one losing an argument, but it doesn't have anything to do with said actual argument. It's the intention of the statement that matters, which is why I try not to take it seriously when people say something that's unintentionally passive aggressive. Making a joke about how "Final Fantasy XIII is a game for those who want to watch their games more than play them" isn't necessarily supposed to be a jab at the taste of those who enjoy the game; though it can be taken that way, often times it's entirely meant to be a critique of the game, not the fans. In those situations, I either ignore statements like that, playfully joke back, or try to initiate a debate that focuses on the game itself. The thing is, it's not always possible to tell the intentions of the person speaking right away. Only after I've made sure that they're just flaming will I then take offense and try to rip them apart. Otherwise there's no point. All it does is makes more enemies.

same

in regards to the thread, ive had some ff shippers stalk me around the internet and post private details about me. i consider this harassment, not someone insulting your favorite game. :lew:
