Where did you train?

Disc 1: Balamb Garden Training Centre
Disc 2: Near the Capital city of Galbadia
Disc 3: Island Closest to Heaven/Hell, Research Lab (the one on the Ocean), Esthar
Disc 4: Although kinda Cliche; Ultimecia's Castle

*hmmm on my first run of the game i got level 99 on disc 1! yup!its possible, since the exp level is limited to 1000 pts only :D

*i only encountered a monster called "versage" somethinG! :) and i got level 99 eventually! :) i thought i was gonna be stronger than all the enemies, boy was i mistaken! :)

*weeeeeee PARTY TIMEEE!!!! :D :D

There is no doubt that the Island Closest to Hell and Esthar City are the best places to train. And gain powerful magic.

I never trained in the game I just went to get all the GF's and do all the secrets therefore I levelled through that. By the time I reach Ulti I was lvl 100 and lvl 99 with my characters. I easily breezed through the end with triple Ultima bashing Ulti and using Triple Curaga to heal my party.

So if you want a way to train just do all the secrets and get all the GF's also never run from a fight!

at the begining of the game i trained at the balamb garden training area till i was lvl 30:D. i totally pwnd seifer and quistis really told me that i had goten better

Since FFVIII has the system where monster level up with characters, you can pretty much level up anywhere.

I just junctioned the about from Siren that let's you see Draw Points, and draw as much as possible from boss monsters.

That was my strategy the last time I played.

Islands closest to heaven & hell for me, on the first couple of disks I just mooch thru battling wherever til I get the Ragnarok

Cactuar Island for the AP ;)

They did my head in when they escaped >>

I liked the forest area between Balamb and The Fire Cavern on disc 1. I didnt really train on disc 2, and couldnt on disc 3 because my game keeps freezing right before I fight the Galbadian Garden.

I would always train beforee heading on the Field Exam, getting Quezacotl's Summon Magic+'s finished so that I get get all the AP from X-ATM092. To do that, I'd train against the Fastitocalon-F's on the beach shorelne since they come in pais and each are worth 3 AP. 6 AP a battle is pretty good for being right outside the Garden. I would also train in the forest that Ochu was in and the Islands, of course.

If your going to do the Island Closest to Hell/Heaven then I'd suggest having the "Lvl Down" ability. >___>;; Those monsters whoop some major ass.

STFU. ^

Do you still get the same experience f you level them down?
I didn't think so, but I'm not positive.

I didn't do much training during the course of the game. I know I did stop for awhile and fought along the Rinaul Coast with Squall and Quistis before heading to the Fire Cavern. Just fighting one random battle after another, seeing the same enemies over and over again, it gets very tiring. I'm the type that wants to move on with the story and see what happens next. Well, when I did do some major training it was on the Islands Closest to Heaven/ Hell. Just bring along the lovely Quistis and have her perform Degenerator over and over again. Keep her in the yellow. She'll get taken out, every now and then, so use Life to bring her back. You'll level up, quite nicely, in no time. Sure, it's the lazy persons way to level but hah, it works.

Nahhh all you need is Quistis at deaths door and use Degenerator on them all, it works a treat

I just make sure I have plenty of Auras when goign to the island closest to Hell (I rarely go to the island closest to heaven due to the massive amounts of Malboros) and I just dominate with Squall.

Leveling up is always time consuming, though, because I stay below level 30 until I reach Ultimecia's castle due to the level fluctuations of creaters up to there, and the fact that you can max out your stats with junctions around level 20.

Of course, its sad when you beat Ultima Weapon in two moves, then get your ass handed to you by Omega, lol... I still can't beat Omega without obtaining Laguna's card and modding it into 10 Holy Wars.

I never mod the rare cards; after so much effort I just can't part with them.
Ultimecia's Castle never seemed much like a place to train to me, but I liked that you could encounter a few old bosses there.

Laguna's in the only character card I mod... but there are some GF cards that I mod, as well. And I mod every non rare card once I have more than 5 rare ones... that way you always get good cards when playing Random.
