Whats the appearance rate for Pink tails in the lunar whale course?

I haven't even seen one in the whole time i've been playing it, and i have too many hours trying to get the damn thing.
 
What's the chance of an item drop of the adamant set? Maybe that would be a better way of obtaining it that getting pink tails.
