And as for Cloud x Tifa..Well thats Purely your opinion, since no cloud Pairing is canon.

Just as i prefer Clerith to any other Cloud pairing ^_^ although none of the couples will ever be canon, i just find Clerith to be much cuter and Beautiful than any other pairing ^_^
 
Hehehe, I'm always a big supporter of the Clerith mix, because of the chemistry demonstrated throughtout the game. At first, Cloud's a heartless bastard who wants money and beating up what he condiers to be an "enemy", but he matures into a heartFUL bastard who wants money, beating up "enemies" and Aerith. Aerith used to be a flower girl who quests to sell flowers so she can appearantly buy a microwave oven, now she's a flower girl who quests to offer her "flower" to Cloud so she can buy a microwave oven.

Seriously, they're a damn cute couple doomed to seperate through painful experiences... (sniff) (Plus they have the best limit breaks in the game:0)

So, we all know what team I'M rooting for.

Don't tell me to "get over it" just because i can debate for my pairing :)

Cloud and Tifa didn't shag on the hill ROFL since Tifa was concernd about Being overheard not spied upon. why would she care more about people listening to her conversation with Cloud than sleeping with him? And Tifas not the kind of person to do the nasty on a hill. on a ROCK. imagine how incomfortable that must be.

And if you actually Read MOTP it shows that Aerith isn't With Zack in the lifestream, she rejects him and says she doesn't like him.

Jeez, nothings canon - the creators have said its all up to your own interpretation. So Please, next time don't tell me to "get over it" because i don't think Cloti is right, and i'm able to prove that Zerith = Not canon :)

And, have you seen whos winning the poll? maybe you should tell everyone who voted for Clerith to "get over it" also?
 
Even though I voted Clephiroth, I agree with Aerith. Clerith is THE pairing in Final Fantasy VII. Not once does Cloud show any desire to be with Tifa. Grim, excuse me for saying this, but i think it was rather out of line to tell Aerith to Get over it... it kinda came off as harsh. You can have different opinions on things you know :P

I Support Clerith because i prefer the tragic love story far more than the Cliched one. It shows to me how Love can last even beyond the boudaries of Death, and it applies to one of my favourite mottos "Love conquers all" ^_^
 
No i consider the "Cloud lives happily ever after with the big boobed woman and have hawtsecks and many kids" to be the cliche.

Clerith is Different and unique, henceforth not a Cliche.

Let's see... Rude likes Tifa, and Tseng likes Aeris. So RudeXTifa and TsengXAeris. We'll throw Yuffie with Reno for the hell of it.

So then we'll give Cloud Elena just for convience.

I mean come on Aerith is dead, yes she made an impact but... she died in the game?!
Tifa however loved Cloud since childhood, and they had their cute promises and experiences together, she was the one who always stood by him and then everyone slates her!
Aerith loved Zack, even the fact they're seen together in the final scene of Advent Children, but Cloud SEES them together, not just a coinsidence! I think she only liked Cloud because of what she saw of Zack in him..
Whereas Tifa likes Cloud for Cloud. He's just to stupid to act on it. End of [:

Contradictory to her appearance, Tifa has quite a tender, sweet personality to her and she genuinely cares about and loves Cloud (as evidenced by her staying by his side at Mideel). And as messed up as Cloud's mind is, it'd probably do him some good to have Tifa taking care of him while he tries to fully recover.

Also, there's one thing i dont understand about Cloud's deep feelings *obsession* with Aerith: WHY does he care about her so much? I mean, he's known Tifa all his life but he's just recently met Aerith. She doesnt have near as much dialogue in the game, he doesnt have time to get to know her as well...i just dont understand why he's so head over heels for her o_O I mean if anything, an obsession like that would amount to nothing more than a schoolboy crush.

Now you may not like to hear it, but I'm afraid your sadly wrong. Aerith did not love Zack. She did NOT. She had very strong feelings for him, as evidenced by her reaction at Gongaga. Aerith was attracted to Cloud in the first place because of Cloud's striking similarities to Zack. However, as she began to know Cloud better, her mere interest/affection began to grow. So, Aerith truly loves Cloud. As does Tifa. Wether Aerith or Tifa love Cloud is not the issue; it's if Cloud loves Tifa or Aerith that's under debate.

Excuse me, but who are you to tell him to get over it? I dare say, you're the one making the insulting remarks here. AG is posting his opinion fairly and you have no right to insult him like that. And Grim, you must be careful of what you say. What may seem like a harmless few words to you is outraging to others. Please, consider your words before you put them down. Let's try to keep this discussion civil, shall we?

As for the rest of your arguement, FF7 does NOT insinuate any such thing. I truly belive you would find romance between the two if Tifa handed Cloud the butter at dinner. The most romantic thing that happened between the two that night was their discussion and the fact she had her head on his shoulder as she slept. That's it. Nothing more and nothing less.

Also, AC does not show Aerith and Zack 'happily ever after'. There is no doubt that Zack has it for Aerith; he's good and well wrapped around her little finger. But she does not seem to show much interest in him as she does Cloud. She brought Cloud back to life; not Zack.

Well, that entirely depends on what literature you have been exposed to, now doesn't it? And judging from this remark, you obviously haven't been exposed to much literature at all.

On this however, you're wrong. Clerith is NOT "THE" pairing. There is equal evidence for either side, so how could Cloud not show any desire to be with Tifa? He made a huge, life-changing descion for he thought he could win her attention that way. Attention, not affection. He was hoping for the least for so much. And he got much more in return. But, that's another story. My point is, Clerith and Clifa are equally possible; neither has the advantage of being more likely.


Now, for my own opinion. As many of you know, I am a Clifa, through and through. However, I completely acknowledge the evidence of Clerith as well. But enough of that; I've state my reasonings many times, and I don't feel like repeating myself.

Why am I a Clifa? Simple reason; I'm a sucker for happy endings. The tragic romance between Cloud and Aerith is unique, yes, but it is still tragic. Think of all that Cloud has been through: Family, friends, home, memories--all brutually ripped away. And when he finds his true love--she's killed. (this is [FONT=&quot]supposition[/FONT], btw). Well, that's just fine. He goes through all that, saves the world and there's nothing left for him in the end. Peachy, just peachy.

Thus, why I'm a Clifa. I think it is unspeakably cruel and unfair to put a character through all that then give him nothing afterwards, not even the smallest promise of happiness. However, with a Cloud x Tifa pairing, there is a happy ending. It may seem cliche, it may seem dull, but for me, I'm content with the characters we all so dearly love finally finding the peace they've always sought.

Sephy and Cloud is my fav pairing. Well I just find their love hate relationship to be cute...
 
I think I'll have to go with CloudxTifa. Nomura calling Tifa a koibito pretty much sealed it for me. :)
 
I am surprised that Rydia mentioned TsengxAeris. ^.^
The game does give subtle hints of a relationship between Aeris and Tseng, however, it does not specify the type of affection that they have for one another. Obviously, Tseng cares for Aeris in some way shape or form. I have usually looked at this affection in a father-daughter relationship though. ^__^

As for Cloud...I have mentioned before that he is easily compatible with either Tifa or Aeris. Aeris and Tifa can both be considered the yin to his yang.
