ok, i have that really bad problem where i lack the attention to finish a game then read about it cause i cba playing it, then losing the interest even more by knowing the ending.

anyway which game should i finish first out of:

ffvii (probably the one im furthest into)
ffviii(right near the begging but probably the only one i don't know the story)
ffix(again near the begging but it sounds good + vivi is win)
ffx (second furthest into, one im leaning towards the most, stuck on the wyvern)
ffxii(near the begging, got beat by gabranth then just didn't try again)

so anyway, please persuade me to finish one

Well if your furthest into FFVII I suggest completing that one first, & its not too challenging or long. Then get onto FFX because it's an epic game!

If you are near the beginning on the others though I suggest just restarting them as you complete the next

It really is worth it, they all have excellent storylines, although I don't remember much from IX because it was a good while ago

XII I had a hard time with because it's long and the fancy new battle system confused me, Id save that one for last :wacky:

ffvii (probably the one im furthest into)

How far are you? If you're too far, I'd advise you to start over, as you could be confused and not know what to do next.

ffviii(right near the begging but probably the only one i don't know the story)

Avoid it until you've completed another FF game, unless you like it a lot, because personally, this is a horrible FF game. HORRIBLE.

ffix(again near the begging but it sounds good + vivi is win)

If you're near the beginning, start again, it's a fun game and isn't really challenging.

ffx (second furthest into, one im leaning towards the most, stuck on the wyvern)

Wyvern? Evrae? Again, I'd recommend starting again, Evrae is a bitch to be stuck on.

ffxii(near the begging, got beat by gabranth then just didn't try again)

Don't play this one until you've played the others, as it's battle system is more in-depth and confusing, and really isn't for newbies to the FF series.

I think that because you are so indecisive you should go through them all one at a time. start at VII and work through them one by one, completing all things FF and giving you a massive Ego boost

im not new to the series or anything, i've been playing them for about 4 years (long time when your 15 lol) so i know what im doing and playing a bad one isn't gonna put me off. when i get round to it i will restart viii and xi.

i'm about 2/3-just near the end (shnira building) of disc 2 on vii

really don't wanna restart x because i restarted already to beat the sin spawn on mi'ihen (where seymour joins in)

If I was you I'd go ahead and finished VII. Why? Because after you finish that puppy then you have Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core - unless, of course, you've already done those. I'm the type that likes to completely finished up a game and then move on to the next. I can't leave one hanging. I can understand, though, how you'd get bored and want to move on to something else. I felt that way, especially with I. However, I pressed on and restored light to the world, as was my duty being a Light Warrior. Wooo!

You're really getting close to the end of VII, in my opinion, so I'd really go ahead and finish it up. The game is well worth it. Do not go for XII, because, damn, that one is hellishly long. Especially if you try to get everything, in the game, and complete all the hunts. Anyway - Do VII first and then I'd go for X and move on to VIII and IX. Great games.

Good luck with it! :D

It's no worse than XII is...well actually it is. At least in XII you don't have to stock magic and spend a half hour trying to figure out how to junction. Nevermind :wacky:

Evrae's a prick if you're not prepared. Just have tons of Softs and make full use of Rikku's Al Bhed potions.

Oh wow, you're nearly done with VII then. You just gotta beat Hojo and a couple more people and you can make your way to Sephi. I recommend you try some sidequests too though, like the Wutai sidequest (if you've fought Reno and Rude in the tunnels though, it's too late to do the one where you save Yuffie and Elena from Don Corneo). And I definitely recommend you go do the sunken ship Gelinka sidequest, you can get alot of good materia and weapons (be warned, the monsters in it are BRUTAL and you'll likely be slaughtered if you're not lvl 50+). Chasing down Ultima WEAPON is advisable too, since you get a good enemy skill and the Ultima Blade offa him. I really don't recommend wasting your time on a gold chocobo and KotR unless you're a completionist, because they're completely unnecessary. Sephiroth is a letdown.

After that...I'd say either IX or X, they're both great games. XII is...um...well I did nearly all the hunts because some of the small stories that go on in Clan Centurio and with the people who hire you are more compelling than the actual plot. It's a single-player MMO, there's not much else I can say about it. You can save VIII for last, it's just a pain in the ass, moreso than XII.

so im near the end of vii? even though i've got a whole disc? is disc three just the fights with sephiroth or something? (too many questions) anyway yeah i've done wutai and the sunken ship (the one with heavens cloud?) and i've just beat reno and rude in the tunnel.

probably go for vii so i can play crisis core then.

sorry for the double post but i just finished disc 2 of vii, my characters are mid lvl 5o's, should i go straight t osephiroth or wait?

All disc 3 is really is mooching into the Northern Crater working your way down until you eventually face Sephy

Althogh it's been a while so Im not entirely sure if it makes you go anywhere else first but Im pretty sure that's it....

Meh, that should be fine, chances are you will get a level or 2 on your way down to him anyway...and if you're struggling on the monsters just head back to the crashed Gelnika as Prince V suggested and grab some exp from there....although I believe magic pots in the crater give good exp if you have elixers but I never tried because I never knew how to kill the swines until recently :wacky:

Yeah, all the third disc has is the northern crater and the final fights with Jenova and Sephi. And yes, I think it was the heaven's cloud on Gelinka.

You can wait if you'd like, but you can easily beat him right now. There is just one thing I recommend you do before you fight:

Get the Mighty Guard and White Wind enemy skills if you don't have them already. This tells you where to get them.

i advise you to finish them in order so you can see how FF has progressed over time

Admin edit: shadowramza, please put more effort into your posts. One-liner posts are not allowed and if you don't have much to contribute to a thread, don't post at all. Please check the site rules (you can find them in my sig) for further reference.

alright so i just finished vii bout half an hour ago and i'm ready for the next game, my question this time is should i play x or go for dirge of cerberus seeing as vii is fresh in my mind?

DoC is a nice game if you're mildly fond of 3rd person shooters, but it's not something you should seriously consider playing over something potentially better. I'd recommend playing X over it, then playing DoC if you're intent on giving it another whirl.

You don't really need to play DoC, unless you seriously love Vincent, or are totally digging VII's Compilation. Move onto X next, then probably XII - when you mentioned the fight with Gabranth, you're probably at the Pharos, and right near the end of the main storyline. Unless you've got totally confused and are actually on about Ghis. Either way, don't restart XII. Complete it first time round, storyline wise, if you want to, then go for everything 2nd time round - after you complete it first time round, you can go for VIII, have a break from XII.

i might the judge on the leviathan, just after the prince joins you for a while, then some huge knight. basicly the first time you fight a judge

Not to mention you can find all the cutscenes of DoC on youtube anyway, so there's really no reason to suffer through a mediocre shooter. It's not really that great story-wise anyway...so you can take your time getting around to it. So I'd say move onto X next, or XII if you like.

So you've just picked up Ashe and Vossler then? In that case it's Ghis. How long has it been since you last played? You're only about a fifth into the game, so if it's been a while and you don't remember much (or if you mucked up the license board like I did) then it might just be easier to restart.

Finish VII of course and if you are Lvl 50 then that should be enough to go and finish Seph. Now go and kick some arse! Then move on to X, and then VIII.
