Which should I playthrough first ff5 or ff6? :)

Ive yet to play either of these games, and cant decide on which to play first....they both have things I like....just gimme some suggestions (I will be playing the advanced ports).

I think FF6 offers a better story - by a long way - but 5 enables you to customise your characters and party more. At least, that is my understanding. Consequently, it really depends on what you want from a game.

Personally, I would choose 6 because the story is absolutely fantastic and the gameplay is good too. The characters are stronger and more developed.

Which of the games in the FF series have you played before? 5 is more like 3 in terms of story and gameplay whilst the story in 6 is up there with 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Ive played, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9,10 ,12 ,13 (and every spinoff)

Thing is, I like a good story, and nice music, but I also love job systems :_:.

Welcome to the forum!!

I'd recommend Playing FFV first. It's easy going, lighthearted, and the job system is highly addictive. Plus then when you play FFVI afterwards you can observe the nice progression from FFV to FFVI.

Robbie makes a good point. Playing FFV first would show some progression through the series. 5 also has some amazing music, bosses and the job customisation is good to play about with.

Having said this, I prefer 6 by a million miles. The story and characters are excellent. The soundtrack is even better than 5 somehow. I prefer to have set characters with set jobs too. You could say that it's just as customisable as 5 because you can switch your team a lot once you reach certain points.

I dunno, it's all up to you really. They're both fun in their own rights and I'm assuming you'll be playing them both anyways
