FF Music Which Square Enix song are you currently listening to? V.2

Don't know if this counts- But the Black Mages Version of the opera from Final Fantasy VI
Darkness and Starlight. Don't like the woman singer who does the voice of Maria but apart from that everything about that song is amazing and addictive.

And the Fight in the Forgotten City from Advent Children. Amazing and catchy.
Especially the chorus part !

I left my PS2 on and it's looping the intro and prelude to FF-XII, which is one of the best prelude versions, imo.

It's so comforting having that playing in the background though..
Maybe I should get off the internet, press start, and keep playing. =]

As I've said with other threads in other sections of Midgar, one liners are considered spam. Reasons such as "I love this song!" are not valid. From now on, posts that only contain the name of a song and no valid reason will be deleted, as they are spam.

Well I think the piano melody to FFX is good. Its got this addictive melody that just sticks in your head and sooths you as you listen to it.

But my SE song of choice is the Utada Hakara (sorry if I messed that up) song Simple and Clean from the Kingdom Hearts intro. I'm not right now... but I used to start a new game on KH just to listen that song. I'm not 100% sure what it is about that song... I usually dont even like that kind of music, but I really thought it was a good piece and a great addition to KH

I am currently listening to Suteki Da ne. I love this beautiful song because it makes me so happy inside that I start crying. It really is one of those nice SE songs that touch me. I always cry everytime I listen to Sutekf Da ne.

I'm listening to Memories of Lightwaves from Final Fantasy X-2. It's such a relaxing song to listen to. One time I remember playing FFX-2 and nearly falling asleep listening to this song.XD

this arrangement of the FFXIII battle theme.
Its absolutely lush! It has a relaxing feeling to it compared to the main version.

It seems like I'll always have Otherworld from FFX playing at some random point.

I know I played it non-stop when me and Aztec first played Fight Night Round 3 for the 360, and when we went out to pick up FFXII on the day it released, it was all we blasted in his car up to the mall.

Probably my favorite song in the whole franchise.

Eternal Love - Final Fantasy XIII (Second Main Theme Song)

Easily, easily better than the first main song imo. Personally I think it has a better rhythm to it, the lyrics and better and I think it suits Sayuri's voice a bit more. Overall a brilliant theme tune. Actually, it's played at the fireworks part so I'm not sure if it's the first or second theme :hmmm:

The Price of Freedom (Crisis Core)
One of the most beautiful and most fitting pieces of FF music. Not to mention it's also suitable as a tribute to our own soldiers, those who are spending their Christmas overseas, fighting for this country.

"The price of freedom sure is steep." ~Zack

Forever Rachel (club remix)

This is is one of the best and saddest song in the Final Fantasy franchise. I don't know Jan Van Valburg's music but he did a really good job on this one. This song is on the SquareDance Limited Edition album. There is also a trance version of Forever Rachel on the Project Majestic Mix album made by the same artist which is a bit superior IMO.

I recently had the chance to listen to that deluxe Kingdom Hearts OST that compiles the songs from 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and Re:Coded.

Currently listening to "Vector to the Heavens" (i.e the final boss battle) from 358/2 Days. A very emotional theme, like most boss themes in the KH games tend to be. Especially knowing the whole story and the context, it does tug wee bit at the heart strings. I thought the way the strings playing in the song was kind of an homage to be honest xD

But I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed in the sounds quality from the 358/2 Days tracks (also Re:Coded to be honest). I assumed the themes were gonna be enhanced for the CD, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Like, it sounds a lot better on my PC/MP3 Player than through my DS, but there's still some underlining MIDI-ish quality to it. Oh well, I guess while Nintendo dominates in in handheld gaming, Sony still triumphs in sound quality :lew:

Speaking of which, the BbS OST is pretty stellar. At first I was a little iffy about some of the themes, but in the end they all had the same underlining, I dunno, connection? Like you knew just from listening the themes they belonged to the same game. I think this was more apparent with all the string instruments used for BbS :hmmm:

Anyways, Yoko Shimomura is friggin' awesome ♥

EDIT: Fucking shit, holy-THIS THEME FROM BIRTH BY SLEEP IS AMAZING!

It plays in the story's final boss battle (something I finally managed to get to today, thus why I'm so hyped xD). It's basically took the theme of "Destati" and built on to it to create this amazing, epic battle theme :jess:

Melodies of Life (Japanese version) [FFIX]

I was messing around on FFIX earlier (which is how an all-round good FF game should be like, Square Enix!) and it just hit me when I was listening to the soundtrack. True, it may not be the best there is, but it's nevertheless one of Uematsu's best efforts and it complements the FF series as much as you could ask it to. The theme song is pretty much stellar in both languages, both performed by Emiko Shiratori, which was a small surprise. I prefer the Japanese version myself, but other than the language of the lyrics, there's not much in the differences in the two versions. Both retain a similar level of feeling put into the song characteristic of pretty much any FF theme song you come across. It may not be outstanding enough to be overly memorable considering what theme songs come after FFIX, but it's still certainly one of the best.

Clash on the Big Bridge (Distant Worlds version) - FFV

Oh, dear LORD. I've always loved this track, but this takes things to a whole new level. This is what boss music SHOULD sound like. This track was made for live orchestra, and I like the small use of vocals, as well. It adds just the right amount of drama to the track, and makes it feel a little more epic than it would otherwise. Not to mention the Distant Worlds concerts have always been incredible. This is easily the best piece they've remixed yet and, with the exception of the Theme of the Empire and the Esper theme from FFXII (and maybe Painful Battle from the Tactics series) there isn't a track I wanted them to do any more than this one. This is, like...a few steps off NieR-level awesomeness.

Radical Dreamers, from the Chrono Cross OST. I don't know what the lyrics are, but whenever I listen to this song, all is well in the world. Like I envision myself walking along a grassy plain on a cool Wednesday afternoon in the Springtime with the slight breeze in my face, holding hands with my imaginary girlfriend android.

Eternal Harvest (Piano remix). Go Freya with that funky dancin' ^.^. I just love the song itself, and this piano version extends it out quite nicely.

"Ending Theme" from FFX. The best reprises (IMO) of two of my favourites in "To Zanarkand" and "Hymn of the Fayth", some great music in between, and the chills it erupts from the memories of that ending. It can still make me watery-eyed.
