I personally think that Vayne in his last form, when he transforms into that metal dragon thingy, is the hardest boss out of the two. But I think that the Hell Wyrum is the coolist in apperance and attack style. so they both have their ups and downs, but i'll have to go with the Hell Wyrum.

Hell Wyrm, man. He's got over 8 million HP's. Yiazmat pwns them both though.

Note: Vayne still has an awesome characterization. I won't diss him.

Hmmm ... I haven't actually completed the game yet, so I'm a little biased in this respect, but I reckon Hell Wyrm's got to be harder. I mean, 9million HP? He was a little tricky at times, and I'm Lv. 99, but mainly it was just the length of time that it took. ^_^

Well, again, Yiazmat tops them both. He's up over 50 million HPs, and he can put up one heck of a fight. He's so powerful I named myself after him.
 
If you are talking about beating them at the appropriate level then Vayne is harder. What I mean by that is the proper time to fight Vayne if you want the true challenge is to go in at level 45ish and the proper level for the hell wyrm is 60 if I remember right. So fighting Vayne at 45 is harder than fighting hell wyrm at 60. Now if you're saying fighting Vayne when you are level 60 compared to fighting hell wyrm at 60, there is definetly no comparison between the two. Vayne you just walk in and fall asleep with your gambits OFF and you still win.

you do have a point about the appropriate levels but im sayin whos harder out of the two at any level. i'm still goin with vayne but the hell wyrum still puts up one hell of a fight. vayne is harder because he casts the spells where you can't attack with magicks or phisically or with teckniks. so yeah, vayne is harder at any point in my opinion.

Oh sure, if you're talking about all monsters, then Yiazmat is top, no worries. Omega comes quite close as well, in my view ... ^_^
 
The one with the higher HP is obviously the harder Boss. no matter what level you are the hell Wyrm will ALWAYS be harder than Vayne
 
To be honest when I fought Vayne's first form it was pretty cool how he ran around and used like a boxing style and was "too cool" for swords which is rare in the FF series. Then he got his second form and when I saw him in almost Anime style transform I was in Awe and his "mist attacks" I guess that's what they were, were just awesome they were weak but looked so cool. But when I saw his last form and how he merged with it that was the first time in the game I thought to myself and said "...and now the game gets fucked up". In every FF their is a point in the story were you think "dude, wtf is that!?" ...that was my moment.
