Who ever beat that creature that chaed Selphie, Zell and Squall down the hill?

you cannot beat it in a sense that it dies not coming back kind of way but if you reduce it to 0 hp you will get 50 ap i think something like that

and the robots name is (i think) xatmo97(or 92)

I beat it....you get liek 50 ap ya....i don't really remember if it comesback or if it was just dead....but i think i beat it at the last time you fight it. And i know it doesn't show teh cool video where quistis shoots it with teh machine gun. I remember having to run down to the boat on my own, not with a cut scene

That part was pretty darn annoying!

I mean, the spider robot ---whatever it's name was --- just kept regenerating and depleted my health. Even though I did appreciate the fact that it gave me 50 AP, it was a bit too tenacious.
I'd rather have beaten it with it having 10000 HP, but no....

That´s not even worth it!

Because you lose a great cutscene and it really does not affect your rank at all!

What's not worth it?
Beating it.....?

All right, fine. I forgot about the great cutscene.
Well, maybe if it gave out exp....but then again, which FFVIII boss gave out exp anyways :P

Yup it´s not worth beating it! Plus i think it´s much more funny to watch Squall run like a little girl and see Quistis turn into some type of Female Rambo!

That's right!
I remember the suspense now like when that thing almost got Squall.
Well, that was pretty awesome!
I take back my first post in this thread now :)

Well, look at it from this point of view. If you beat the Machine Boss whose name I care not to remember now due to a huge amount of idleness, your SeeD Rank will be higher at the end of the mission (that's what I've read somewhere ). If you save the puppy, you get more points. If you get inside the store while the machine is after you, you lose points. If you lose time...well duh you lose points XD.

If you kill the Boss at the Bridge, you'll get more points plus higher rank and a large amount of time left to escape if you where quick enough to defeat it in the first place here, at the bridge.

Also remember that, the higher your SeeD Rank in FFVIII, the better you get paid.

Its worth it if you are a decent lvl when u get there. If ur liek me and u train like a mad man befor you go on the SeeD exam and you can beat him fairly quickly and efficiently you get a higher seed lvl and make more money. Also i like to see teh jerk die by my hands

-woops didin't see teh post above mine-

lol I had to beat it.. took me awhile.
My Disc 1 freezes in the scene where you jump into the boat after you make it to the beach so I was left with no other way lol oh but then I realised you can go into thast building and it runs past.. 50AP was quite good though.

lvl 15 with 100 thunder juctioned to all..
Oh and a turbo controller so I could get max boost (250) and hit it for 2k damage You can only kill it on the 3rd encounter (the one when you run down the hill)

I didn't have the patience to try and beat it. I got annoyed enough trying to draw the magic from it, it really didn't wanna let go of it's protect spells!
The cut scene afterwards is brilliant though...At least Quistis destroyed it, muhahahahahaha!

i beat it the first time but and the second time i just ran like hell when i saw the cut scene i missed i was mad i killed it the first time

It is possible to beat it...just keep casting Thunder (or Thundara if you can get it) and using quetzacotl and draw cast protect.... It takes a while but its not that hard...apparently if you beat it you get a Regen Armlet or something and a better seed test score...i can't remember lol

I beat him, a long time ago that is! xD (Haven't played FFVIII in a while) He can be annoying especially when he keeps chasing you, but I mainly use Thunder magic and Quetzacotl, since that's an easy way for me to beat him.

I didn't beat him on the first time through, but I always used Quzacolt to disabled it each and every time after that.
