All the ff games are single player why carnt they make one with two players it would be cool so lets hope they will make them.

This seems more fitting in General Discussion, so I'll move it there for ya'. ;)

-Thread Moved-

Two-players would be neat, but I don't know - it won't be the same and the elements will certainly feel quite awkward for a role-playing game anyway. I've never seen a two-player RPG game, and I don't think it'll happen anytime soon, if at all.

ALL CAPS, huh.
If you were going to have a multi-player RPG, it would require that more than one character has the lead role, which wouldn't work. There'd be no advantage of having a multiplayer RPG as the characters would be in the same place, making multi-player redundant. However If you are suggesting an online version then it would be like Diablo, with very little story and mainly focused on the battle system.
Having a multiplayer FF just wouldn't work.

Not to mention that it'd be very hard to shift through the items and not have your partner scowl at you for using up an ether for your character. And I doubt people will find it appealing to have the screen divided up for their characters (much like a car racing game where one section on the left, and the other on the right). Yeah, I just can't even picture it...

The only successful division of any sort I've seen in RPGs is playing parts of the game from different characters point of views really; multi-player doesn't really make sense since it would make the flow of the story choppy. You could play with other people during a battle by letting them have control of a particular character/s, but I think that's pretty much it :/

RAGE. IT'S CALLED DISSIDIA.

UNLESS THAT'S NOT GOING TO BE TWO PLAYER.

BUT I HEAR IT IS.

There is one it is called Final Fantasy 9.
There is a multiplayer option there but only one person will be able to move.
Also there is Crystal Cronocials which is set up for multiplayer.

Just about to mention CC. What CC also failed to do was, in case you're not playing Multiplayer, you'd have to have a good playthrough on Single.

Tales of Eternia has the multiplayer option but the battle system is not in wait-mode but active-mod. And they do battles in one line. But I think FF will not be interesting anymore if the battle system changed.

They've tried it with Crystal Chronicles, but lets face it, thats not the best game out there. Not by a long shot.
While its fun to play when you have friends, it gets kind of repetitive towards the end. The lack of story doesnt help much either.
I say stick to singleplayer mode. It worked before, it'll work again.

you could probably have a two player game where one is the villain and the other is the hero and depending on how well you play the game (leveling) depends on the outcome of it so if the villain player is stronger then evil wins

it could cause a problem between you and your friend but it could be fun

Story line wise I can't see it working at all, it would just be awkward, especially if you dont think things through and plan who will be the healer and whatnot

It would be pretty nifty for like mini games or whatever, but only for that. It just doesnt seem like it would work at all imo

Dissidia isn't a full RPG, from what I've seen it looks just like any other beat em up, which is why multiplayer is completely possible.

Anyways, as for a FF with multiplayer, the only way I could see it working is having the same battle system as FFXII, split screen and having different tasks for the two characters. Yeah, they'll be working together, but in dungeons and what not, having one character going in a different direction to the other, meeting up in places to take care of bosses together.

With each character earning his/her own rewards from battles. Without sharing the same item list, so you're not squabling over who uses the potion you have. Ofcourse with that, have a trade/gift option, so you can swap or give items to your partner.

What about final fantasy dissidia? that would be neat for a two player fighting game. Ive never heard about ff disadia anymore. are they still making it?

dissidia would be pretty cool cuz it would not be split screen cuz u need 2 psp's nd i think ffxiii agito has multiplayer 2

What about FF6

No one seems to remember FF6 (3 on SNES) which had the multilayer option. Only one person could do the walking when not in the world area but both players controllers will control the lead player when in the world. I know, it's old and not that great of a function, but my 4 year old daughter likes to play it with me. When we get into a battle I just tell her to press X a bunch of times. Soon she will learn to use magic :).

I'm sorry but I don't think it would work, it would be harder to get a proper understanding of the story. One thing I like about FF being single player is that I can play through at my own pace, if a multiplayer FF were to be produced, I would have to wait till my friend is ready to play so we could both play at the same time.
