Which videos do you think are amongst the worst? This isn't necessarily meant to be a bash thread, so please, no flaming and such. If you think the given video sucks, try to be more detailed than a simple "'cause it does".
---

This thread was inspired by MGMT's "Kids" video. Oh dear goodness, has anyone seen it? As fucking hilarious as that video is, it's awful. Some of the video is just random crap, but half of the video matches the lyrics in the most literal sense, such as a kid wandering in fear of "monsters".

So, low and behold, they go and take a toddler of no older than 2 years old, and shoves him in this video full of things to terrify him. As he sits happily in his crib, he ends up getting abducted by alien hands. When his mom gets him, she sets him down somewhere and neglects him. He's walking around the rest of the video shitting his pants at all these insect/alien-like creatures reaching out towards him and glaring at him. Can you imagine the trauma this kid went through? And if the monsters aren't really there in some scenes, they're doing something(s) to make this kid cry, so it's still pretty crummy.

Which music videos make you cringe?

Armi Ja Danny - I want to love you tender.

This was once posted on a website I used to check a lot and it was laughed at as being "the worst music video ever".

I'm not so sure about that, but the choreography on this SUCKS. It's not just cheesy, I can cope with that if it is done well, it is just plain silly and crazy.

I love it for making me laugh though. :monster:

Probably also the worst fucking band ever

Screamo is the worst form of music. Well, it's not even music it's just loud bullshit

You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson

Funny thing is that Michael Jackson usually made totally awesome music videos, but I doubt anyone really wanted to see the man naked post-1986. And what the hell is up with those angel wings anyway?

Here's the MGMT video:

Feel free to ignore the Flame Broil, Wopper JR ad in the beginning, which, by the way, comes equipped with a Friedrich Nietzsche quote acredited to Mark Twain, whom I believe adopted the line.

I couldn't bear to watch it all the way through until a while ago, but the latter half is just as bad as the rest, if not worse. All the random food products flying through the air. Wtf...

----

As for the above videos: Two lulz-worthy additions.
The "I love you tender" one: LOL, when they all got together and started doing the "bus driver" in a kongo line - that was awesome in a terrible way.

The second video is also a big wtf: The identity crisis is so evident there. And I can't decide if the music or video is worse.

And here we have another Michael Jackson mistake...

Eddie Murphy and Michael Jackson
Whatzupwitu

/facepalm

Why are they floating again? And why are there flowers coming out of Eddie's fingers? Wait, actually, who let Eddie Murphy sing?! This is just all kinds of terrible. :wtf:

When I first posted here, I completely forgot about David Hasselhoff's Hooked on a Feeling music video:

To be perfectly honest I haven't quite decided if it's the worst music video ever or the best. Perhaps it's both...

I'm a big Madonna fan, I have all of her albums and the new Celebration- Music Video collection. The Worst Video that I have ever seen is her Ray of Light one. Love the song, hate the video. Now what I expected at all, and it seems a bit cheap.

Oh, and it won an award for best Music Video, but I hate it. All she does is dance around in front of fast moving stuff. I got stuck with this when I would've rather had teh one for Drowned World/Substitute for Love. I love that video, it's one of my favorites.

I am sorry but this video is so cheap looking, regardless of if the song is good I am always to distracted by the cheap Video to actually judge the song for once, It seems like all they did was photoshoped the Background behind her in to it all after the video was done and they had forgot to add it XD

I won't post the link--I don't want anyone wasting 4 minutes of their time--but I have to vote for Alanis Morrissette's "Head Over Feet". It consists of nothing other than a headshot of her singing the song into the camera, which I guess if you're attracted to her it's probably great, but if not it's REALLY boring to watch (especially since I hate the song, even though I like her others). I think the interpretation is supposed to be that she's trying to be earnest, candid, etc., but IMO you could get the same notion from merely staring at a picture of her while listening to the song. Anyway I'm someone who really supports the full use of audiovisual media rather than cheap copouts (i.e. real-life drama shows flooding TV when they could have sci-fi/fantasy with great special effects :mokken:), and so music videos like this one just really irritate me.

Anything by Girls Aloud, OMFG they are shameful. As are the ones for Pussycat Dolls. Who do they think they are? I mean, gross, tacky and plain arse dumb IMO.

Telephone by Lady Gaga.....

My god what do people see in this... It was on TV earlier, and it was the first time I actually saw it... What are they spastic or something? ....... (facepalms)

People can hate me all they want for this, but even as a non Gaga fan I expected better......... -.-

Anything from Lady Gaga. Her videos are just plain awful to look at and make NO SENSE. And honestly, I can't stand looking at her. She's really really WEIRD looking. Seriously, weird looking.

And her dancing is just...ugh, it's just so stupid to watch.

I know... it's just SO STUPID!

Anything rock/metal, they all suck. I don't care what others think about this sort of music. Green Day, Rammstein, Motorhead etc. the videos all suck to me.

Rap videos.

They use a very specific formula:
- Slow motion EVERYTHING
- Must "make it rain" at least once
- Scantily clad women.
- Said women must include some with ridiculous haircuts
- Grillz

The only exception I can think of is Gorillaz, and maybe Kid Cudi.

I know right! :rage:
She's all wrong, the lyrics of her songs are sickening (and the most addictive shit you will ever hear. Seriously, it's like ear-drugs)
She is so indecent and encourages other girls to be like her. One more thing... SHE'S FRICKIN' EVERYWHERE! :rage:
What about young kids who watch and listen to this crap? It gets injected into their innocent little minds, that's what. No other person has ever made me so mad :rage:

*huffs* *aside*

I really dislike that Ke$ha TiK ToK video. It's just about some drunk girl who has a hangover and gets drunk again. By the way, is it true that Ke$ha's contract says she must act drunk at all times? Because that's just ludicrious.

Lol, yea TikTok is annoying. I also don't really appreciate rap videos...they're always degrading to women in every way possible.

Rhapsody of Fire's video for "Rain of a Thousand Flames"

Now, if you follow the storyline as told in the songs, the Rain of a Thousand Flames is when Akron uses the Emerald Sword to essentially screw the world over. Fire rains down upon the army of the Warrior of Ice and very nearly destroys it. In other words; the bad guys begin making a huge comeback in the most devastating way possible.

So does the music video involve demonic warfare?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRQ6thP8D0w

Apparently not. We are treated to ridiculously jerky camera footage of the band waving swords in a forest while a topless female vampire who kills the guitarist's lover before turning into a ball of light and being destroyed.

And keep in mind, I love Rhapsody of Fire. This video just...augh.

This one on the other hand actually works.

King of Wishful Thinking - Go West

It's not so much bad as just incredibly random to no end. Half way through a guy in a monkey suit jumps up in front of the camera.
