Would you like to see a remake/spinoff to this game?

Well, of course this game should be remade.
A sequel, not so much. I would love either, but what would the story be in the second?

The game would have to be exactly the same as the first...well, maybe not exactly the same. New bonus and more story added into it, with some mini games like the card game in VIII or a chocobo game and maybe even a breeding place like in VII.

The translation could be just like the real version, but they could spice it up a bit, flare it.

I would like to see a spinoff of FFVI, maybe on the DS? I would finally get the chance to play it since I haven't played it before.^_^

Whaa?!
You should go play it! For sure!

Its a epic...no! Perfect game! Everything about it is awesome; the characters, story, enemies and items. I love it so much :P

As I said in the FF7 Remake thread, I'd not mind a remake with new graphics provided that nothing else was changed. The remake of ff6 on the PSX was dire, it ran slowly, had unneeded extra FMV and was occasionally buggy. If they remade this game, it would have to be a 100% faithful reproduction of the SNES original

Agreed. As long as nothing else was changed I wouldn't mind. ;)) Now if they did just enhance graphics that would be... awesome <3

I'd get to see my Edgar better. C:

im not sure if i would love or hate the remake...depends on if they would change it at all, like with the DS games they change the high graphics but nothing else =3

Agreed. I wish they would just do it already! FFVI was a super great FF game and yet we have nothing. No figures, sequels, spin-offs [not that I'd want that :P] and not even a glimpse or hope that they will remake it.

I wanna see Edgar too! He'd be so handsome!
*cries*

Although my personal favourite is 9. I believe if ANY game of the series deserves a fully-fledged next-gen remake, it's 6! The heavily gothic/steampunk imagery the game tried to convey just wasn't fully capable on the SNES cartridge and there are many sections and characters in the game that'd become 10 times more powerful, emotionally, with a good voice-actor behind them...that and I want to hear the Figaro Castle theme as a fully orchestrated live recording.

I still haven't gotten around to playing this game yet! I keep hearing how better it is comparison to VII. I'm all for remakes...but only when it's necessary. Take for example the Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube or the FFIII remake for the DS.

Then there's times when remakes just ruin an already perfect game (see Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes).

But my question is this, does VI need to be remade? What was wrong with the SNES version? What could they possibly fix to make the game better and at the same time not screw it up?

If they do surprise us with another remake, I personally would like to see a DS remake in the same manner as III and IV.

I've played through VI probably 5 times...

Loved it each time. Off the top of my head, the only reason I could think of that they could do at most for another try would be a different approach to translations (Firaga as opposed to Fire3), using 3D graphics, but idk if that would look good at all.. And of course the bonus dungeons and better weapons, but I think it was good as it was.

I dont want to see a remake for this. It was great on the GBA and I think thats how far it should go. The remake would probably ruin it somehow and a spin-off would destroy it.

A spinoff is unnecessary and would probably ruin the story.

A remake however, is something I would really love to see. I only have FFVI on the PSone and it doesn't have some of the new GBA content- though it does have the FMV.

Seeing as though I never got the chance to buy FFVI on the GBA, I would love to see it on the DS. A 3D FFVI, with voice-acting, some FMVs- why not? I don't normally ask for remakes, but I would much rather have a FFVI remake than a FFVII remake.

I would love to see the characters in 3D. Especially Kefka. We have all grown to love the evil nutter in Dissidia and his voice actor can do wonders for the character in the remake.

Matrix have done a good job with FFIII and FFIV. No complaints there- so why not have a FFVI? It is my personal favourite :ryan:

They have a CG Kefka if you wanna see him 8F. I can allow a DS remake of the same exact game, no add-ons or anything. I want the same game with not changes. Change is very bad for a great game.

EDIT: Did not see that you already saw the CG Kefka since you have the ps1 version :sad3:

Nah, its not popular like VII. They wouldn't have to change it for two-sided fans. FFVI would love a remake of even with a 20% graphical change.

I wouldn't like to see a sequel though. It would be nice as a `not part of the actual story line' but if they tried that, the whole game would be ruined.

Maybe a few cameos in different games would be a cool thing.

But I don't see how the `port' would count as a remake, all it had was a few new Espers, a few new weapons and two dungeons.

I agree--spinoffs/sequels/prequels for VI would be a bad idea, but new graphics would be fantastic. And now that they've tantalized us with those nice vids on the PS version, they're obligated to remake the whole game with those graphics. :D

My only request as far as touching up the story would be to elaborate a little more on Shadow and Kefka's backstories. I've only played the SNES version, but the description for the Memento Ring has always kept me wondering whether
Shadow is Relm's father or older brother
. It may be that this was explained better in the other versions, I dunno--I'm usually a little behind on such things... :hmm:

Well, in the game they explain that Shadow
is Relm's biological father.
. The Memento Ring got me a little curious into the pasts of the heros, so I went and checked up on it. I actually found a Adventure Guide book explaining such things.

It would be nice if they remade the game but didn't screw it up by doing what they did to VII. Ever since Dissidia more and more (whether or not true FFVI fans) have come out and want a remake almost as much as fanboy/girls want a VII remake.

They should defiantly remake it. Its the best, to me that is.

A remake would be awesome, but they kinda do the same thing like SquareEnix did with the DS port for Chrono Trigger. No grahpics change (add in the FMVs), same weapons and dungeons as the SNES version, no great changes whatsoever.

Well, I would like to see some of the cutscenes from the original voiced out. That would be pretty cool but other than that, really no changes to it at all. Oh, and it should be for the DS as well.

Like everyone else has said, a remake of VI would be awesome as long as they do not change everything. I would also like to see the game play remain the same and not use the battle system simular to XII or XIII. It would be interesting to see some characters with PS3 graphics specifically Ultros, Gogo, and Kefka.

VI does not need a spinoff. The story was complete at the end and I think a spin off or a sequel could just ruin the game. (Seriously, their entire world went to ruin! Leave the survivors alone! XD)

Remake yes

Spinoff no

I would love to be able to play this game since it has the first female protagonist and hopefully simply game play.

i reckon a remake would be good...this was the first old school final fantasy i played and i enjoyed it. i liked the whole fact that you can select your team and that in rare occasions that u would have to have Terra in your ream or Locke...very good game!
