I was doing an image search for Final Fantasy III artwork...and look what i stumbled upon:

That pisses me off so much >_< Why does Japan always hog all the good stuff?! They always get all the collectibles, from soundtracks to figurines to keychains to plushies to amazing package deals like this one! I swear if America sold that i would buy a DS in a heartbeat. Just the packaging artwork is enough to make me orgasm.

Also happened to find this on a search for FF4:

Not that i particularly care about owning a Game Boy Micro...but still...just further illustrating my point that Japan always keeps the good stuff! >__<

If it really matters to you that much then just customise your own DS. A bit of base paint, and you can put whatever you want on it. That's what I did with my old Gameboy. Now it's metallic gold with black flecks, and looks awesome. Shame it doesn't work anymore though. xD

Yeah, except that painting your own DS wont make it anywhere NEAR as cool (or collectible) as this:

Or this:

Thats what i'm talking about. We dont get cool shit like that here.

To be honest I could draw you something better than that on your DS, and I'd do it for a lot cheaper. :monster:
I don't see why there's always a big fuss about these special edition consoles with some sort of artwork on them, when you can do something just as good, or better yourself. It doesn't matter if it's 'collectible', as long as it plays the same and you're happy with it, why bother forking out extra?

Meh, yeah Japanese don't distribute everything to American....unfortunately. It won't well as well in Japan than in America, or anywhere else. I'm sure it's difficult to find on ebay as well.

It's just little designs on a DS, it's cute. Sure, bragging rights, but I can slap on stickers on my DS with FF designs.

I found it funny that FFIII limited edition box is right next to Grand theft auto thing.

I guess it just pisses me off as a collector. If we want anything nice like that (or soundtracks or something) we usually have to pay alot more to get them. Sure, you could slap a sticker on there, but to me it's not the same thing.

Haha, yeah i noticed that. GTA seems pretty out of place when it's right by FF3 and Pokemon.

I'm not going to lie, but I wouldn't mind collecting Final Fantasy merchandise and limited edition items. Very expensive hobby though. :/ Especially the action figures! FFVII Resin statues cost $70 for one.

Heh, lucky for me I have a few Japanese/anime stores near me. I got a Garnet, Yuna, and Tifa keychain for $3.50 each. Of course Tifa and Garent's legs got ripped after a while. -_-

Aye, it is expensive >< Although IMO it'd be worth it...

Lucky you *pouts* TN doesnt have crap. I wanna Tonberry keychain ^^

Awww those are really cool. I'm kind of glad they don't bring that stuff over here because then I would have to fork out more money to buy it lol. I think it's better this way, I can save some money instead. Those Nintendo DS' look awesome though, they might look better in a different color though.

Meh, I’m not too crazy about anything DS! So, no this particular release doesn’t really bother me…

But yes, it does piss me off as well when extras are added to an international release of a game (FFX for example) or a collector’s item is only released outside the U.S. I don’t know, I guess you could always import it in, if you really half to have it.

I think what's really pissing me off the most at the moment is FFXII: International. It's basically what Japanese and American gamers should have got. Gee, thanks Square Enix, you fix the flaws in your game after you release it, and then you're not even nice enough to release the better version in Japan and America. Fuckers.

I'd say we get a bad deal in the U.K. Very few shops sell anything other than the games. At all. I can't find anywhere local to me that sells merchandise, except for the Final Fantasy XII figures (that's a first). Here in the U.K., we even get books later. C'mon!

You can always order Final Fantasy merchandise from Ebay and other Anime/game sites. Only issue is that it's more costly than it is in Japan due to the import cost. >_<

Its sad that we dont get merchandise like in Japan, but maybe stores over here dont believe Final Fantasy stuff wont sell as well as it would do in Japan. Places like Gamestation and Game sell the odd figure and guide, but anything would have to be Ebay.

Although in my hometown of Manchester in Afflecks Palace, there is a store in the top floor which sells all sorts of Final Fantasy products. But they arent cheap!
