Despite having been playing the game for a million years, I only just did the Wutai subquest for the first time. Yeahh. Took me a while eh?
Anyway, did anyone else notice that they made Godo the form of an Indian God?
I just found this strange when they're in a Chinese/Japanese-based town.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed. :) :)
 
Yeah! I noticed, it was kinda tough the first time I tried it. I thought it was kinda weird too, but haven't heard anyone mention it before now. I wonder why they did that?
 
When I was goin to Mideel, I accidentally came across Wutai. When I saw him, I sort of assumed the Indian God thing was related to the creators' interest of combining cultures.
 
I have to admit I didn't notice the first time I did it, but now that you mention it yeah he kind of does look like some Indian god...
Still, makes for an interesting boss and a good way of filling up your enemy skill materia with Trine
 
What is WuTai's culture baseed on? Because Kisaragi is a VERY Japanese name... but WuTai isn't... and Godo does kinda look like that... I'm confuzzled...
 
The creators were trying to throw in a foreign element into the game... No matter how you viewed any of the in-game cultures; anyone can see there is a vast difference between most places and Wutai....

I agree with you on this. I mean you can see from almost every town you visit that the creators wanted to really diversify their following by making it so almost everybody felt at home playing the game. Thats what I think when they were designing Wutai, it felt very old style Japan. I loved it and all the other towns in the game.
 
call me ignorant but i never noticed it and always just somehow came across it and yeah it took me a loooooooooooooong time to do it it took me like 7 hours(not straight play just total) to me he looked more Chinese than indian
 
yeah he did look a bit out of place to be honest. i found this sidequest easier the first time i played through because i didnt get yuffie until very late in the game so it only took a couple of hits per level
