One the things that made Final Fantasy so great was the emotionally intense moments that th series had especially with Uematsu doing the music. One of my moments is where in FFVI, Locke finally had some closure on his girlfriend dying, how Cyan lost his whole livelihood as wella sthe kingdom of Doma and Terra resolving to protect the children.

In FFV, Galuf's sacrifice counts as well as Syldra's demise.

For me, it has to be moments of a characters death. Aerith, Angelus, Zack, the mother of Hope and many others. Also the suffering of people like Cloud, Vincent and so on. You think, "they've done so much. Went through so much... It's not fair for it to be this way". Those moments really tugged at my heartstrings. Romance or friendship scenes also bring a tear to my eye. I'm a big softy. .///.

You mentioned Cyan's livelihood but neglected when he lost his wife and child. :gasp:

There's the obvious "Aerith Death" aswell, The end of FFX and Lenne's Song in X-2 (That one put a tears to my eyes :gonk:)

For me, it was the ending of FFX, when they were all on the Airship. One of the most emotional parts is when Yuna starts running towards Tidus, then goes through him.

Another is the obvious death of Aerith, because I was young at the time, and never knew that they would kill off one of the main characters of the game.

How can I forget the ending of Crisis Core?? I knew it was coming, but still saddened me the way it went

For me it would have to be:
1)The death of Aeris/th.
2)Cloud and Vincents suffering.
3)The death of Dyne.
4)The ending of FFX.
5)The ending of FF7:CC

Those where the most emotionally intense moments of the FF's I have played.

.FTR.

The 'You Are Not Alone' scene in FFIX - a real punch the air type moment for the emotional catharsis it provides (OK I'm using stupid pretentious words now)

The end of FFIX
with Vivi's implied death. His final words to everyone are very sad, especially as you see every character and what they're up to now, with Garnet/Dagger's song playing.

The end of FFVIII
where Laguna visits Raine's grave and remembers when he proposed to her

For me it would be the end of FFX.
Yuna saying I love you and how Tidus starts to disappear as he is holding her. It's sad that he has to leave but it made the ending so much more emotional!

I think Aerith dying is kind of universal.. that's sure to be on everyone's list.

But for me there are a few other moments that also come to mind.

- In FFVI when Cyan watches his family boarding the Ghost Train shortly after they've died.

-In FFVIII, when Squall is carrying Rinoa on his back to take her across the bridge to Esthar and he sits down with her and lets all his emotions out to her, even though she can't hear him. This is my favourite part in the game, actually.

- Again In FFVIII, when Squall goes into outer space to save Rinoa's life, and she finally becomes conscious again.

-The Ending of FFX-2 when Tidus comes back to life and Yuna leaps off the airship and runs towards him with her arms open. The game sucked but this ending made it well worth it.

Anna's death and the moment following it in IV always makes me cry. I thought it was a well done scene and I did not expect it on my first play through.

Also, at the end of IV when all the characters are praying for Cecil and the rest of the party, I always get very emotional. It's one of my favorite moments in the series.

End of VI where after all the hell the characters have gone through, they finally get somewhat of a happy ending :) or atleast a moment of happiness.

So far for me it would have to be Aeris's
death in VII. I didn't bawl and cry and whatever but I was saddened by it.
She was my favorite character in VII and the game just wasn't the same without her for me.
Sephiroth is so ridiculous and merciless...I can't wait to coldcock him when I finally get to the end of the game :rage:

...Second up would be the end of XIII.
Really I didn't care too much about Serah, Snow and Lightning reuniting...However Dajh being reunited with his dad was very heartwarming.
That aspect of the ending made the game more tolerable for me. Finally something happened that was worth waiting for.

...Third I guess would be
Rassler's death in XII. Poor Ashe...I couldn't even imagine losing my husband right after starting our lives together.
So people can call her a bitch all they want, but I would be a little bit traumatized if that happened to me too. Still, she became stronger and grew from that tragedy.

Hmm... Even before I played VII, Crisis Core's ending was heartbreaking. When Celes
tries to kill herself in VI.
Vivi's implied stopping.
Aerith's death didn't hit me so hard because I saw it coming but for some reason when Nanaki
discovers the truth about his father it got to me.

I have three for me..

In Crisis core at the end when you are
are fighting with Zack as he is dying and seeing his memories like him and aerith fading away one by one

2: The Your not Alone Scene... seeing the way zidane breaks down like that just makes me wana cry

3: Ending of FFX
when yuna stands up and says "I Love You" for the first time in the whole game as tidus fades away and then him hugging her as he is fading
it's soo heart-warming and makes me cry every time :')

As others have mentioned, the end of X, and Aerith's death are probably on everyone's list.

Beyond that, I'd have to echo the mentions from VIII - there are so many in that game that I really thought were superb.

(Not in any kind of order)

1. When Cait Sith sacrificed himself in the Temple of the Ancients (FF7)

2. When Cloud reveals himself as only being a regular soldier at the Nibel reactor event. (FF7)

3. When everyone braces themselves to fight Yunalesca (FFX)

4. When Judge Gabranth reveals himself at the top of The Pharos (FFXII)

I'm sure there are others, but these are the only ones I can think off the top of my head.

Definatly ending of FFX. ohman, I cried so hard.
And the speech Yuna does in the end made me die.

The most intense moment for me was when Tidus found out what really happened to Yuna once she got all the Aeons and tried to defeat Sin. =/. That was pretty sad how he reacted. Kinda made me feel sorry for him.

hope no one said this but.. the song "you are not alone" plays during the 4th disc of final fantasy 9 .. an get goes through the i need to do this alone, no we'll help you! lol but very moving

When Freya finally reunites with Sir Fratley, only to learn that he was afflicted with amnesia. First run through, that was totally unexpected. I was thinking 'This is seriously messed up'. Also, the Crisis Core ending, even though everyone knows from the start what Zack's fate is, it's still heartbreaking.

I'm not sure this is a spoiler since it's inevitable from almost the very beginning of the game. When Tidus meets his Jecht again, that reunion of father and son is nice. And there's a recognition that they were both wrong.

I also like the scene when Fujin and Raijin leave Seifer. It shows that Seifer's gone too far, that he's consumed by his wish to be a knight. Only Laguna, Ward and Kiros have a stronger relationship than those three.
