Your Perfect Party

I think this thread maybe old but going to revive it :) Ok my perfect party was squall, irvine and zell as they kick butt and irvine when he is in overdrive is awesome! INFINITE AMMO FTW!! XD
 
Irvine. :ffs: As soon as he joins your "party" he's shoved into the "other team" for me. I can't stand him. xD

For me, (on this playthrough) it's Squall, Zell (always those two) and Quistis this time around. I used to use Rinoa if I remember correctly. xD But eh... I dunno. I like Quistis, so I felt like it was time for a change. :ryan:

So, main party; Squall, Zell, and Quistis.
Back up; Rinoa, Irvine, and Selphie.

Sounds painful lol At one time in my many hours of dickin around in the FFVIII debug menu I found a way to have Sqaull and Laguna and Siefer in the same party.........unfortunately the game froze when ever a battle started.

Annoying.
 
I always always always make a point of levelling all my characters up equally so it didn't really matter who I used.
However, when I level up on the islands closest to heaven and hell I always had Quistis in my party so that I could use her limits to kill the monsters easily.
For major battles I'd never use her though. It'd either be Squall/Zell/Rinoa or Squall/Zell/Irvine. I'm really not a fan of Selphie...

Selphie is a Very charming and happy go lucky Young Lady, and your not a fan!
thats real ballsy.........unless you mean she is as useful in battle as a dolphin opening a shoe repair business.

Oh, both. She's useless in battle and I can't bear her character, actually.
She needs a longer skirt...
Obviously, I still use her when building levels up (as I said, I build all the characters up...) and some of her limits are quite useful. But hey... I don't like her :hmmm:

NONSENSE!!! But I can't stand her either.

I leveled them all up on the islands as well, using Quistis' Degenerator attack to instantly nuke everything. My main party at the end though was Squall, Rinoa, Zell.

I did make the mistake of leveling too fast and didn't take advantage of the stat bonuses the GF's give you. That last boss fight raked me over the coals until I learned to pop all Holy Ways and Auras I had and went to town.:humph:

No need if you take advantage of the stat boosting abilities the Gf's give you .

Im being a dick there, but they are hard to miss in early going if you are new to the game huh, put aside for the more useful abilities like strength+20% and others and the cactuar really rubs it in by having all 5 major boosts available.

I would vote for no skirt but.......
 
Yeah well, since I'm female I'm not going to vote for no skirt :mokken: I just found Selphie's character incredibly annoying, and her usefulness in battle... well... she wasn't useful at all :hmmm:

So she hardly ever made it into my party. Only during training :mokken:
 
Tosh, you sound real grumpy in that post?

Selphie is my Main female Character, she is most useful and her inherently high luck Stat
is a ggod thing when she is equipped right ie:Tonberry, high evasion and her limit is based on luck and desperation in battle, the lower her HP the more frequent her Higher level limit breaks appear.

She is better than Rinoa because of her cheerfulness.

She is more of a gamble than Quistis regarding her limit break.

Ad I'm going to go so far as to say that people who use Quistis' Degenrerator Limit, don't play this game in the right spirit, working for your reward and high levels.......young people dont appreciate the finer points of Turn Based Combat......grumble.......

:hmmm: I guess she's useful in battle depending on what you use her for. I often just attack with my characters and I find her nunchucks don't do as much damage as Quistis' whip thing or Rinoa's... crossbow? Or whatever thing she uses.
I never noticed a difference between the luck stats in any of the characters, but I don't really rely on that for anything :dave:

The degenerator limit... I only use it for levelling up on the two islands :wacky: because otherwise, killing the monsters takes forever :gonk:
 
I aimed for a highly agile and competent magic user Given FFVIII limited magic capacity it just seemed like a fun Idea to liven it up with Selphie than the other 2, Y'now Boring(Quistis) and Simple(Rinoa)?.

Either way it looks like Irvine got his wish.......to hang with 2 hot chicks lol!
 
I would usually go with Squall, quistis and Rinora ....maybe Irvine or Selphie. Can never go wrong with selphie's dark matter (or somethin) spell.
 
I go with Squall, Rinoa, and Quistis. I just found that they do better when it comes to attacking. My friend uses Squall, Zell, and Irvine for what he calls "ultimate limit breaks". Which is true that those three have the best damaging limits in the game. I like Selphie but her limits are random and the only good ones are Rapture, The End, and Full Cure.
 
ive used them all in different codes over the year and i personally Like Squall, Rinoa and Zell.
 
Rinoa Squall Zell...in general are my party but I use all the characters at points. Playing again the now, on disc 3. All players level 100 and Gf lvl 100 to. I know that makes the bosses harder at times but hey ho..it all about the fun :)
 
Lately I've tried switching up my main party of Squall, Rinoa, and Zell and I've found that using an all girl team of Selphie, Rinoa, and Quistis can be pretty fun!

All three of them have awesome limit breaks, Rinoa's Invincible, Selphie's rare spells, and Quistis' Degenerator :britt:

I suggest others try it. It's an interesting combination for a main party....or side party since Squall is in the main for most of the game. :hmmm:
 
You did that with codes kusanagi-san........the All girl team?

Im sure you know there is only 1 chance to use an all girl Team.....I think? When Selphie leads the team to the Missile Base and you an only go to Deling City and said Missile Base
not much of a journey......but its fun.
 
Yeah codes but it's fun :monster: and I was getting tired of Squall Tbh.. He's always fighting as the main person and there's never a chance to level others on the team the same way. It's like he's meant to be the strongest or somethin O.O
