Do you think that Zack was killed too brutaly at the end of Crisis Core? I just got done with the game this morning, but I think that SE over did it a little. I mean, the whole lot of them and only one of him! come on, I may be exaderating a bit here but I thought it was a bit redicullous! You opinion will be your own and no one can tell you otherwise.

Hellz yes, there were infact like thousands of Shinra sent after Zack and cloud, it was unreal, as i watched the FMV that showed all the soldiers i was like "oh. . . shit" and its only one SOLDIER First class and Cloud who was suffering from Mako Poisoning, it was just unreal, seriously President Shinra went a touch overboard, i mean seriously how many bullets did they use killing Zack.

IMO They didn't over do it enough they should've sent a T300 a TX and a T1000 8( (I'm a hater..sorry)
but if they did seem to over do it it's most likely to get you stirred up emotionally, you know, drama and all that.

We're talking about a game where you can leap 40 feet in the air and stay airborne for over 20 seconds. I think the physics in this game can speak for itself. Maybe the bullets are made of M&Ms

I choose to believe that some of the soldiers retreated. Also, because of the regular outperformance that SOLDIER, in particular Zack, did to the Shinra army, the onus was on Heideger to prove his fighting force superior. An overkill is exactly what he wanted, both to prove he wasn't an incompetent buffoon &, ironically, because he's an incompetent buffoon.

But...but...he kept getting away.Well, why was there a need for a whole dialogue in the end when in FF7 there was none?Because this is Zack's game and they focused on showing his SOLDIER abilities, and as you see here he kept running away from Shinra and the only way to catch him was to outnumber him.

Well, think about it. Genesis is Sephiroth's one and only equal. Zack defeated Genesis in his avatar form and human form.

If you were head of the warmongering whatthefuckever of Shinra, how many soliders would you send to kill Sephiroth, who can wall run a building and slice it in half with his big-ass sword? :monster:

I'm just sayin'.

Oh Gods, no, I hate that interpretation. Watch the fight scene again. Genesis is clearly outmatched & Sephiroth is barely even trying. They are not equals.

Agreed 100%. Not once did during that scene did I see Genesis as a possible victor.

However, this does not mean that Genesis is a pushover. He's a 1st class SOLDIER for a very good reason and the fact that he's a walking experiment adds yet another reason to fear him. I'd say he's the #2 SOLDIER in the world...and Zack took him down in his most powerful form. On paper, that gives Zack a very impressive resume. I think Shinra did the right thing by sending an entire army after Zack.

Honestly? The right thing would have been to tell Hojo to go screw himself. Because Hojo just HAD to play chemistry set in the basement, they lost the only SOLDIER they had left of Genesis/Angeal caliber, then the whole department got transferred to Heidegger.

Zack was indeed overkilled, just not the way that you say he was. At the very end, there was this final grunt. Zack was on the ground dying and this grunt shot him point blank. The guy was dead, that just seemed grusome, imo. They did go a little far, almost as though they wanted us to know "He is surely dead". They had to send an entire army after him. Sending a few grunts like they did in Last Story was a futile effort, they saw that.

In terms of how outnumbered he was, it was over the top, but at the same time, I can't imagine it being as dramatic without it, it really made the moment tense and emotional, and shows that their was no hope, this was it.

The blood? Haha, yeah that did feel somewhat over the top, but I think that was just an attempt at realism in terms of wounds, and made the moment a little more mature.

Amen to that last part. Final Fantasy's refusal to show blood makes things really confusing at times. Take Tifa, for example. Why is she just lying there in the Nibelheim reactor? We don't even find out until Zangan's letter in FFVII, which you may never even find, that she had a gruesome, life-threatening wound.

Damn straight he was overkilled! It didn't matter how strong he was, they'd just make their attacks hurt more. :/ My health's like over 9999 and yet they make their missiles and shit hurt more!

Have you ever read the Ultimania Guides?

The young man who compared himself to a hero of an epic poem and revolted
against the world.

Age: Around 25
Weapon: Rapier
Hometown: Banora Village
Voice Actor: Gackt Camui

A SOLDIER 1st Class who possesses combat abilities that rank equal to Sephiroth's, and who adheres to his own personal aesthetic. He takes pride in the handsome figure he cuts, his magnificent fighting style and the enthusiastic popularity it garners him, however he does not like mingling directly with people, and only opens himself up to his companions Sephiroth and Angeal. But after the day he suddenly disappeared with a large number of 2nd and 3rd Class SOLDIERs, he is at the forefront of a rebellion against ShinRa.

To answer the overall question, a normal person would think it's overkill, then again, you are dealing with a SOLDIER 1st class, who killed Angeal, beaten Genesis, and was able to (barely) match Sephiroth blow for blow. It was probably enough.

Though personally, all those casualties could've been avoided, if YA JUST SENT A SQUADRON OF BOMBERS AND CARPET BOMBED THEM ALL!!!!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Sorry....

You, sir, have more brains than anyone working for Shinra :busta:

I have read the Ultimanias. I have also read the part about Sephiroth being the most powerful character in VII's world & have EYES. Genesis is not as strong as Sephiroth. Cloud is not as strong as Sephiroth. Zack is not as strong as Sephiroth. Only Sephiroth is as strong as Sephiroth.

Frankly, "power ranked equal to Sephiroth" just strikes me as bad wording. They're both in the top percentile of SOLDIER 1st Class, so that's probably what it's saying.

Also, as I recall, they did shoot some bombs at him. Zack would probably just pull some "cut them in half" bullshit if they used anything major.

i agree zack was overkilled i mean he was already bleeding to death why the extra few shots???? of course in the last battle i had it going on for hours because i had zack so strong... i got bored and had to let myself die in the end lol
