You don't get to keep Beta if that happens though, as it counts as running away.
I would reccomend at least Level 15+ if you want to learn Beta. On the other hand, if you just want to defeat him and aren't worried about learning anything, you can beat him as low as Level 12 even in a No Materia...
To get Aurochs Spirit:
Wakka must be at least Level 16 for it to show up. He must also know all 3 key techs to be actually able to learn it. (Although, if you use Tech Find to unlock it earlier, he only has to learn his 3rd one). You can win it as a tournament prize. No one else can learn it...
I don't play it much, unless I need one of the prizes.
My usual strategy is to recruit Shaami, put her on MF, and the only thing I do is have her catch the ball, swim up the middle (with how fast she'll level up, you'll eventually have no trouble breaking any number of defenders), then Venom...
Got some good news and some bad news...
I'll start with the bad news.
After extensive testing, I can confirm that Neslug is not possible without the downgrade to NSGNZ. The most damage output I could get within one round was just slightly short of what would be needed to, given infinite time...
Kimahri and Lulu do have very limited use, all else being equal.
Auron is useful for Banishing Blade, and the fact that he's the sole person who does massive damage with his celestial at low HP.
Tidus and Wakka have great damaging overdrives, Rikku has great defensive overdrives (but isn't...
That, and how they combined elements of pretty much all existing battle systems (ATB, CTB, Action-based) into one system. I loved that (even though plain CTB is my favourite).
If you look beyond the focus on dress (ie: the visual/story side of it) and look at the actual mechanics it provides, Garment Grid is actually a great system.
One last piece of advice - when using the Steal route, beware of counterattacks.
Earth Eater counters Mug for sure, and I'm pretty sure he counters Steal too. When standing, he uses Megaton Punch, when fallen, he uses Flare.
Nemesis counters Steal, but not Mug, with Ultima.
Catastrophe and...
You can get unlimited key spheres. Here's just one way for each type:
Level 1: Beat Master Coeurl for 1 (2 for overkill), unless you get a rare drop. You could also equip Master Theif and steal from Earth Eater.
Level 2: Beat Defender Z in Zanarkand for 1 (2 for overkill), unless you get a rare...
The only thing affecting the Magus Sisters that's different is their overdrive. In the NA version, it's one hit for just under 4 times the power of a regular physical attack. In the PAL/Int version, it's six hits for about 5/8ths the power of a regular physical attack each. In both cases, this...
Yes, but there are a few differences. The most obvious one being that Tidus is certianly an aeon, at least in storyline terms. The second being that it's not a custom or dropped weapon, but his storyline-relevant and unloseable, non-optional weapon.
People who already knew of this theory could perhaps fill in the details. People who don't were free to ask what I meant. It was relevant to the discussion, and not spam.
I suppose if someone asked how to beat Evrae Altana and I said "Two Phoenix Downs", it would be spam then because it's...
I only have that pesky Yojimbo to beat (missed his fith form)
You can't miss the fifth, unless you go backwards. You probably missed the third.
However, I beat Magus Sisters with Zanmato, so I created a new file so I can beat them the 'proper way' so technically I have those to go too
Try...
Maxing aeons Evasion? Fight Kottos, use Speed Distillers, use the speed spheres you get (40 per battle) to raise them through the Aeons menu. As for Luck... if Yuna has 255, so should all the aeons. If not, get ready to fight Earth Eater a few thousand times.
Anyway, other people have different...
The unsent are able to control the pyreflies around them, and thus give themself whatever appearance and form they want. Take Seymour for example - your first fight against him, when he's alive - he can summon an aeon, but he doesn't in any way transform. Later, once he's unsent, he can control...
No matter how short a message is, if it adds something to the discussion, it's not spam.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
Now, while Tidus may not be a water aeon in the classic sense, he does at least partially qualify.
I forget the exact details, but it's a theory that's been posted numerous times on...
Yep, capturing is really shit.
The worst offenders are Simurgh, Tonberry and pretty much all the Omega Ruins fiends except Zaurus (especially Varuna and Master Tonberry).
But the creations aren't so hard to beat. Get decent MP, Strength and Agility, and you can beat them all except Th'uban. You...
