Ho' man I agree with the tactical stuff. On FFXII I get through the majority via mist or attacks, on turn-based, I'd fail doing such fight tactics...While my FFVII for example, my first time through, I had to come up with several different tactics in an attempt to beat Demon's Gate, finally...

I like VIII, IX and X the best from the endings I have seen, I count X and X-2 as the same though ^^; @Strider: You only needed somewhere between 60-70% and to whistle in that one place which was pitch black.

I haven't seen reasons, but opinions ^^; plus if he's deciding between PSP and a DS, telling him to buy FF1-6 on the PS1 is more of a reason to get a DS where he can play them on the DS, more often with additional content.

Doubt it. In the new secret ending in the final mix, the guy who gets frozen looks ALOT like Roxas, while the other guy looks like a very grown up version of Sora (to me, his father perhaps?) The FF characters were probably placed into Kingdom hearts to attract Final Fantasy fans, not to have...

True, but I meant until you're able to get spheres which allow people to unlock abilities which others have, such as white magic spheres. Even though it could only be a few spells or abilities, it could still mean that one character is near useless after that

If it's just for FFs then, if you like Zack and FF7 spin-off's, get the PSP, cause the other FF games coming out are 1 and tactics, with 2 eventually. DS has 1-6 if you count the GBA games, with a new tactics game coming out, and the crystal one on the GC. But FF3 was only released in Japan...

I like the sphere grid better, it meant that the characters all had different plus and minus', if only for a short time.

Personally I'd do VI, but that's because I haven't completed it yet. But since you like VI better anyway, that should be the winning argument anyway, play the game you like the most, which you said is VI

I'd say the DS, it has alot of better games and you can get FF1-6 aswell via their GBA ports. Outside of FF, Valkyrie profile and popolocrois, the PSP has next to 0 ecent games, whilst the DS seems to have alot of fun games.
