I'm with noob. Aerith's death was explictly stated by the developers to avoid heroic cliches. It wasn't supposed to be a brave sacrifice, but a sudden and senseless loss that evokes a feeling of emptiness.
I think they did an excellent job in making Aerith's loss felt throught the game...
That does seem to happen a lot in this franchise.
Anyway, no argument here. Aerith is what the gods decreed. I prefer Aeris personally. In any case I never say either name out loud, so it's all about saving a keystroke for me.
I guess worked up means a discussion where people disagree with good reason, and aren't afraid to say so.
Anyway, it doesn't make much sense for a rejectee to be sleeping on the rejector after getting rejected. *shrugs* If Cloud used his mako-enhanced willpower to refrain, I'd expect Tifa to...
For everyone who thinks the Japanese are too discreet to imply sex in a video game: did you not play through Wall Market? I saw cross dressing, homosexual advances, call girls, Don Corneo nearly getting his balls chopped/ripped/smashed, S&M equipment, Cloud buying god-knows-what from a vending...
You know, if I could put mods/admins on ignore this wouldn't be an issue. Don't YOU have anything better to do than crap on this discussion? You think no one heard you the last 10 times you said that? If you don't like it, why not just stay away?
I don't understand. Are you saying it's OK to discuss Cloud and Tifa's relationship here, then?
You guys say you don't want multiple threads, yet the Zack/Aeris thread gets closed and the "What if Aeris never died?" thread, which is clearly a Cloud/Aeris thread, stays. Isn't that part of this...
This is what AG just said a few pages ago:
You guys are contradicting yourselves, that's why it's getting confusing. Are we allowed to discuss Cloud/Zack's feelings here or not?
Infinite chaos: you ought to go back and re-read Maiden again. Aerith entrusts all the feelings in her heart for Cloud to Tifa. That includes loving him and wanting to be with him forever. That's pretty much kills any chance of a long-distance relationship from Aerith's end - she's a Cloti when...
I guess you're referring to the Mako Reactor. Yeah, they're discovering the cure for cancer in there, with topics like "Is there such thing as proper Grammar any more?" and "A Random Act of Kindess..." I wonder what they would say if I went there and posted "Who gives a shit whether people...
The thing is, some people aren't getting as worked up over it as you might think. A lot of us just like to debate vigorously, and that's where certain people really seem to offended; they think being asked to defend their opinion amounts to a personal attack, which is really silly.
Yes it is a...
I'm sorry, I've seen this far too many times in these threads, and it's simply not true. I'm shooting it down right here.
"The answers are there." There you have it. What makes this discussion so ambiguous isn't the story, it's that people twist plot devices - ones that we take for granted in...
Even if you don't have Locke in your party in the end, Celes dives for his bandanna, calls it her good-luck charm, and wonders if Locke is watching over her from somewhere. Setzer == 3rd wheel.
Though I would definitely argue that Locke is hung up on Rachel.
Well, wouldn't that make Locke...
In the World of Balance, yes there is a big difference between character abilities. I'd rather have Shadow or Edgar in my party over, say, Relm.
Toward the end of the game, you can throw Ultima + economizer on anyone. In that case Shadow == Relm == everyone except Umaro. Shadow will not make or...
Save him only if you want to see his dreams or his ending... otherwise he's a waste of time. Every character is more or less the same in that game, at least toward the end.
LOL, that post doesn't destroy a thing. I won't respond to the whole thing in one post, if that's what you're looking for, because it's too long. But we can do this piecemeal. You go ahead and point out which part "destroys" koibito and I'll be more than happy to address it. :)
That's an oversimplification of the argument, to the point of strawmanning. It's not like Cloud is picking off flower petals trying to choose, and then one of them dies, and the other "wins" by default. Cloud and Tifa's dynamic began long before either of them had any clue who Aerith was. This...
Sorry, that's just a weak take. The end of Maiden shows Aeris essentially giving Tifa and Cloud her blessing, regardless of how she feels about Zack. If we're going to quote Maiden to prove Aeris thinks Zack is just a friend, then we need to read the other parts too.
