Wow, I really don't believe this!

Seriously though, I don't. I mean... How long have these rumors been flying around? I won't believe it until it's on the shelves in the store. Scratch that- until I open the case, and see it.

Two things could happen at E3.

Either this will be revealed to be a story that some troll somewhere pulled out of his ass(There being a 97% chance that this will happen),or FF7 fanboys will experience the best day of their lives.

What's wrong with this? Did X-box get ANY other Final Fantasy games other than XIII? You can't buy older games on there like you can on Wii or PS3, can you? If not, then this really isn't much of a shocker.

Uhmm, maybe the fact that X-BOX users are going to miss out on the remake ? Most 360 users have grown up with a PlayStation or a PlayStation 2 before the change, so they would of spent most of their time gaming with Final Fantasy. Why do you think SE put XIII on the 360 in the first place ? So 360 players could play the game also. What's downloading old games got to do with it ? Most PlayStation games are still being kept and in good condition. Or you can download them from a PSP, and a PSP is much cheaper than buying a whole new console. :jtc:

Though if the storyline is going to be changed, then maybe missing out is going to be a good thing. Long live the 97 original ! :rage:

So... no news huh? :mokken:

Can anyone link me to the E3Playstation site?

Right now XBOX is on PS3 doesn't start till 5:00 pm PDT
Okay... thanks. :olivia:

I noticed discussion on this possible remake being only for Playstation and I gotta say, that'd be a bad move on SQUARE ENIX's part. If they put it on more consoles the more games it could sell. It would boost their sales and make players of every console happy. Although, I'm not sure an RPG is actiony enough for 360 users. :hmmm:

If they add a lil somethin' somethin' to the battle system then maybe then the game would be liked by the more action-oriented players but if they don't 360 users will just get bored and head back to their CoD and stuff.

I'm with ya on that last part, for sure. :hmph:

I won't believe it until I see the title screen.By now I doubt this is ever going to happen. It doesn't matter that much to me anymore,at any rate.

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Either its another really cruel bullshit story or its really gonna happen.

Personally, I think its a total load of horse-shit.

Squre-Enix were supposedly gonna re-release the game way back when the PS3 first came out(it obviously never happened).

Then again, they could've been re-making the game very secretively(meaning very few people other than the game designers).

If it does by chance come out within the next year or two, total :highfive:to Square-Enix.

Okay... I don't know why everyone is acting like it's impossible for SQUARE ENIX to have a remake under the wraps in secrecy. They can hide for years a remake and then all of a sudden just jump out and say "oh yeah, we have a remake on the way for you idiots"

It is very possible.
@DarkLordSephiroth66, when did SQUARE ever say they were gonna re-release the game when the PS3 first came out? I never heard of that. That demo they showed was what they chose to show the PS3's graphical powers. They never said it was a remake. :/

ALSO:

I checked the E3 site and this is said for PS3

I totally called this. When Square released their losses to their Share Holders, I was like: "Release the Cash Cow!"

Should this come to fruition, I'll be reeeally skeptical about the 'storyline changes.' They should just leave the game's script the way it was. Not a single fan would ever complain about playing FFVII in an HD experience, with nothing else altered. No other changes need to be made - treat it like a remastered Disney movie and end it there.

Also, I can only imagine how much groveling [or threatening, in the event the 'PS1 Licensing' holds any weight], Sony had to do in order to get this exclusive.

Well lets just say we never know what's going to happen until something 100% official has been announced, I'd be massively surprised if they actually decide to release a remake, they already have a work load with the FFXIII package and stuff, they're going to be spending more money than making it the rate they're going.

By what Cali has posted, it doesn't look impossible at all though. :hmmm:

Exactly. I consider myself a die hard FFVII fan. To see the great storyline it had ruined by changing it in ANY way. That'd just be... uh, terrible.

I know, right. That's pretty weird they'd announce secret demos for PS3. :gonk:

I just want to know already... are they gonna feck up my most loved game or not :gonk:

Knowing SE...a remake of VII is almost a certainty at some point in time...they know its well-known and well-loved for most fans of the series...and its something they can't screw up because all they would have to do is touch up the graphics a bit...and not touch the original story and the fans would be happy.

The rumors are laughable though. People know that fans will either be A) Happy enough to vomit rainbows and bunnies or 2) so :rage:d that they don't want their original beloved story tampered with.

To be honest, I'd buy it if they did remake it at some point...I'm not going to lie it would be nice to see it with updated graphics. ...and you know what, I'm sure I'd enjoy it a lot more than I did XIII, XIII-2, and XIV :-)sick:) ...So :yay: a FF main console installment I might actually enjoy playing in a line of many flops in the latter of the series.

Well, ladies and gents, look at it this way: SE lost a shitload of money recently. FFXIII didn't do as well as they hoped, half their fans hated it, half loved it. They've been working on VersusXIII with next to nothing to show for it. FFXIV bombed, and they've been dumping money into it hardcore just to try and fix their mistakes.

With the loss of so much money, there is a chance they'll want to pull a magic card out of their ass that they know millions of mindless fanboys are going to flock to like a discount 5 dollar whore on Valentines day...

Taking that into account, it's not impossible at all. But seeing as I hate the game, I won't be buying it. I just feel bad for all you fans that are going to pick it up only to find that they changed the story... or worse; made it a linear ass pile hallway simulator with shiny graphics.

Can we please stop talking about this now, most of us dont believe it anyway?

I thought most of us hate FFVII/Dont want the remake. Why is it that whenever a little FFVII remake rumour breaks out there is so much uproar?

This is the exact reaction which sparks further rumours.

Lmao.... the five dollar whore part made me almost choke... thanks :ahmed:

Also, you bring up a good point, ringo. :hmmm: their sales have dropped incredibly bad. It makes sense for them to whip out the good ol' cow and start milking it well. If they don't... they're more stupid than I thought. Seriously, what a bad financial move on their part to NOT make this game. Companies should make the move that makes most money... doing a remake would give them millions.

DarkShadow, dude... just leave the thread then. This thread existing won't hurt you any.

I don't see where Square would have had the time and the personnel to remake FFVII with the other stuff they had going on.I don't see how they could have done it.
So I strongly doubt that it is true.

shrugs.We'll find out tomorrow.

More than likely this is a rumor started to gauge the public's reaction/response to any future remake.

4. Even if FFVII remake project could be in works, it would never be released before Versus, XIII-2 etc. They literally got no hands to make it now.

They very well could have been working on it well before Versus, XIII-2, and Type-0. Besides, XIII-2 is supposed to be out by the end of the here (here in the US...I'm pretty sure), which means they've already been working on it for quite a while. And if they have been working on a VII remake for a while now, being short handed could explain why it has been taking a while.

On another note, I won't get too hyped about it, I'd rather not get let down again :sad3:

However, I wish people would stop saying it's fake when there's no real reason to believe it is or isn't. :hmph:

I agree with this completely. There is no reason to be all "OMG GUIZE!!! THEY ARE REMAKING VII" :gasp:, nor is there a reason to be all "THIS IS BULLSHIT! THIS AIN'T HAPPENING" :mokken:

Take it easy, take a deep breath. A remake of VII does not spell the end of the world. If you don't like it, you aren't forced to get it when it comes out.

On the other hand, if you are quick to believe anything that hints towards a remake as being true, then don't get pissed off when those rumors turn out to be false.

Remember, until SE says they are doing it, things are only rumors. However, as the saying goes, where there is smoke there is fire.

I agree, who knows what'll happen. I'd deffinatly buy 7,8 and 9 in HD. But you could argue that they already have those games on the playstation network for not alot of money to download, with no story alterations at all. Surley people would rather play those with ps smoothing and upscaling on instead?

But maybe they do need the money.... after they're recent issues xx

Exactly this. Who know when they started on this "remake" no one can say for sure. If they're smart they start a while ago... and if they didn't they should get to it now. It'd make them tons of money and hopefully get them a new rep if done right. I mean, if a VII remake did good, it'd give them some money so they could get to making more games.
