Last time we heard from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game wasn’t yet in full production. At the time, only the team’s core staff were working on it. Quizzed at a recent fan meeting, Final Fantasy XIII-2‘s Motomu Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase confirmed the game is now in full production.

“Type-0 and Versus XIII have of course advanced to 100 percent development power,” said Kitase during the roundtable.


Final Fantasy Versus XIII will not be at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which kicks off next week.

All I can say is, it is about fucking time. Now this Myth can finally become reality.. hopefully next year. This is good news nonetheless.
 
I'm preeeeetty sure they said the exact same thing several months ago? And then someone else in the same interview said something else that kind of contradicted this? But hey, better late than never! Even if it has been over half a decade later!
 
The game is now in full production after 5 years, good job Square-Enix, good job. This is why you fail to be a AAA developer. Final Fantasy XV coming to stores in 2031.
 
wow that amazing it only took them 6 years to start this :hmph: maybe we will get the game in another 6 years... ok game release gone down to 2017 :wacky:
 
This means one step closer to seen Noctis's eyes go red and brown and red and brown again.
And I can't wait to see his crystal power at work. The only thing I am curious about is that he does not work well with guns apparently.
 
I'm glad they're not delaying and taking it seriously. Here's hoping it'll be a good game.
 
Iron yes I hope so too. I can't wait to play it because I want to experience the battle system and the OST which is like a bad ass version on KH.
 
What is Final Fantasy Versus again? Lol, I mean, this is really happening? I think to make it up to us, they should have it come out in six months. Or tomorrow.
 
lol this game was maybe 20 % completed when we had the latest gameplay trailer...maybe now they have progressed with another 20? % so only now the full team is working on Versus...all that time they mainly focused on FFXIII and FXIII-2.... This implies FFXIII-2 has been completed or near completion,, ..and now finally they can focus with the whole team on Versus... If it takes 1 year to complete Versus, it'll be a sign that FFX-2 is supposedly made from scratch within one year... I hope thhis is some proof that FFXIII-2 is actually a major rehash of the first one xD :giggle: With this news Versus should come soon. I know Versus has a way different battle system etc , but if Versus is not completed soon Imma be freeking pissed and I would have to blame FFXIII again, but then it will be FFXIII-3 that stands in the way of Versus...
 
:highfive: Square you only are making the game now after people wanted it more than XIII. Infact you put out another game in a year (XIII-2) before even thinking about this game... This is worse than waiting on FFXII (which I think was in production before XI was).
 
This is good news! Now I have something else to look forward to. I'll put this on the back burner and turn my attention back to my other interests while casually keeping an eye out for more updates.

What's been said is that it would be like the world map last seen in FFVII-IX. Doubt it would be anything like Fallout 3 or TES.
