According to the Japanese Square-Enix site, they are releasing a new mobile game called "Final Fantasy Legends: Hikari to Yami no Senshi (Warriors of Light and Darkness)". From taking a quick look through the images and gameplay section, it seems to not have ANY connection to the original GameBoy series "The Final Fantasy Legend". This game will feature a "Job Change System", and from the looks of it, it seems to resemble Final Fantasy III and V's job systems.

The game is being released in "episodes", much like Kingdom Hearts: Coded was over in Japan. No news has been announced for a NA or EU release for the game.

I am sorry I am not able to provide more info about the game, there is the "Prequel" and "Story" on the site, but I am not very fluent in Japanese, I only understand a little.

Just to add. FF:L has new job classes. I was unable to figure them out since my translator didnt work.

This looks koolio though. I hope it gets released over here in America/Canada/Europe

I didn't even see the Jobs pages on my first visit to the site! Thanks for pointing that out SummonerAmaterasu, they added a new job! Wish I could read Japanese better than I currently can so I could know what it is...

I read through the "Job Change System" part of the site, and it works pretty much like FFIII and FFV. Your character starts as a generic beginning job, and you can change to other jobs, and each has it's own special abilities. You gain AP after battles to upgrade your skills. Jobs also have their own levels. Additionally, there seems to be a "Fusion Ability" where you can combine abilities from different jobs to make a new attack.

Also, I'm assuming that your translator doesn't work because the majority of Japanese on the site is in pictures rather than in text that can be deciphered by a translator.

I'm going to translate the prologue first. After that, would you guys rather have the descriptions of the Jobs first or parts of the story?

I'd be interested if it gets released over here, but only if it isn't on phone.

I hate playing games on my phone. It's just not made for it. So Square release PSP or DS and I would be a thousand times more likely to buy it.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I can't stand how games are released for phones, and not dedicated gaming platforms. I mean, at least release it for multiple platforms, SE...

The new Job on the website is the Knight job. Sorry it took a while to translate such a sparse amount of information. The characters on the site are really small.... :gonk:

Description:
A Job to protect allies from the enemies' attacks.

Knights use "Holy Sword" as the focus of attacks and defense.

Holy Sword:
Become able to use Holy Sword.

Defend:
Take damage for an ally close to death.

"New" means it's a new addition to the latest update, I'm guessing, considering it's a mobile game that comes out with new "episodes" every week or so.

I always figured games that were released for Mobile Phones were crap anyways. I mean why else would a game get put on a cellphone and not a current console like the PSP or something? Never got what's so great about playing games on your cellphone.

You can put your cell phone in your pocket and nearly everyone has a cell phone. Other than that, there really aren't any pluses...

But not everyone feels safe having their PSP or DS on them at all times. Generally people have their cell phone on them 24/7.

The mobile industry in Japan must be quite large, because there have been a lot of mobile games made by Square-Enix...

Fix'd

I find no merit to this. The cellphone is basiclly a gaming conssole with the ability to contact people with it.

It's convenient. People today want to do multiple things with the same device. They want to talk with friends, they want to txt message, they want to take pictures and send them, they want to play video games, listen to music, watch movies and go on the internet. But they don't want to press any buttons so now we have a touch screen where we just tap on the screen, omg unbelievable! The multi taskers are taking over man!

...and with whats out now we can still do all these things. on a Gaming console! We can browse the internet. Listen to muisc. take pictures. talk! play games. message! (almost) EVERYTHING. of course. Cellphones are slightly more Efecient for now. But soon I bet were gonna have a gaming console that can call,Message,Translate. everything.

for a simple game like this. I think it should be on a Handheld. it makes more sense.

I didn't realize there was a PSP/DS that can do all those things but if one already has the mobile device that play games on it they'll probably stick with that to save money and vice versa. No need to fret I've seen mobile games get ported to a console before so the same may go for this one assuming it even comes to North America in the first place.

I hate phone games ..its a waste of time..apps may be cool but phone games are useless..only retards would pay for them...I know plenty...its sad mini games are quite easy to make and they get millions revenue from it.......
