A Song of Fire and Ice!

Images and casting for season 2 has emerged over the weeks! First, I wanna share a pic of Maisie for season 2. She's so adorable! It doesn't look much like her with the hair or the clothes she wears in the show though...

She's so cute! :yay:

Balon Greyjoy's actor couldn't have been any better. Its really weird:

Matches the Greyjoy House saying perfectly. :awesome:

Daniel Portman as Podrick Payne. Ian Hanmore will be playing the role of Pyat Pree. Carice van Houten will play "Melisandre ", Stephen Dillane will play Stannis Baratheon, "Liam Cunningham (I) " will play Ser Davos Seawort. Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell and Gwendolyn Christie as Brienne of Tarth. Nonso Anozie as Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Karl Davies as Alton Lannister, Gemma Whelan as Asha Greyjoy, Michael McElhatton as Roose Bolton, Robert Pugh as Craster, Hannah Murray as Gilly, Oliver Ford Davies as Maester Cressen, Roy Dotrice as Hallyne the Pyromancer,Ben Crompton as "Dolorous Edd" Tollett, Laura Pradelska as Quaithe and Forbes KB as Lorren.

I don't really like Stannis' actor, but the man playing Davos and the woman play Melisandre are perfect...I think.

Oh my god, I didn't even recognize Arya!! She looks like a cute little boy haha (which is what I suppose she is meant to look like!)

So excited for Season 2!!!

I didn't recognize her either, but then I looked at her eyes and nose and was like "Oh, it is her!". I just want to give her a huggle!

Me too! I can't wait! I hope we get the season earlier than they said, it would be awesome. We're too far behind the books anyways, and I want to see Sam with
Gilly
. :33

My father can't wait for it either. He wants Dany to burn all of Westeros and get her throne back xD

Epic excitement. Lets hope to magic in artistic directing continues. I wonder how close to the book it will take..
But still, the more we go in, the closer we bring it to the end..:(

I hear that its going to be really different because it doesn't take center narratives, or whatever its called, but same in the story. I'm not sure what those people mean by that, but I'm sure it will be epic! :3

I have a question guys and I hope someone could answer it for me.

What are the religions of the series? I remember the Old Gods, the Seven Gods and the Faceless Gods, but I'm not sure.

Who do the Starks and Northern people worship? The Old Gods, right? Is that a separate religion from the Seven, or just a Southern "change" to the Old Gods? Who do the Baratheons worship exactly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated xD

:hmmm: I know for sure that the Starks worship the old gods. Those Trees with the faces.

I think everyone from the south worships the new gods, the seven gods or whatever they call them because I remember Cat (I think it was Cat) saying that she worships both gods now that she lives in the North with Ned. But don't quote me on that.

I can't remember exactly how the new gods came into existence. I think because they thought the 'old gods' was like a fairytail

Again I could be wrong but thats what I remember from watching the series.

Hmm...The show made me think that the Southern Gods were like an updated version of the Northern Gods because when Ned asked Arya if she prayed, she said "To the Old and the New". :hmm:

I tried Wikia, but it offered nothing. I suppose they are separated then, in a way? I read the series again (I am on A Dance with Dragons now), but I didn't find my answer that way, or at least not from what I could recall.

Alright, thanks for the help, Draco xD

The first link helps, I think? So the Old Gods are worshiped everywhere but the North? But if that's true, why does Ned worship the old Gods? :O

Thanks again, by the way! :3

Which is odd because I always through it was the other way round, the North worshiped the old gods and the rest the new but that is telling me otherwise lmfao :hmmm:

I know, something is fishy about it. Maybe its wrong? I could ask some of my friends on another forum. They are obsessed with this story, so maybe they would know.

I think that maybe Ned follows them both, but appreciates the Old more. That's what I thought.

Ohh yeah if you could ask them and post back what they say that'd be great because I'm quite curious now :O

Okay! It was answered! And by someone who I think has the best knowledge of the books and show that I know :nods

The Children of the Forest believed in the Old Gods(the weirwood trees). The First Men converted to the Old Gods. Currently the Northerners, Wildlings and some families descended from the First Men(ie. Blackwoods) believe in them. The Seven were brought over from Essos with the Andals. Most people south of the neck believe in the Seven, except maybe parts of Dorne. There is no connection between the Old Gods and the Seven.

Mel and Stannis believe in Rhollor who is big in Essos. There is the many-faced god who Arya learns of in her FM training. The Ironborn and their Drowned God. The Rhoyne who migrated to Dorne worshipped the River Rhoyne which Tyrion travels on in ADwD. Mirri Maz Duur believed in some Lamb god. The Dothraki probably had their own horse related God. The Slaver Cities believe in some unknown gods probably harpy related. The Valyrians had their own gods. The only thing we know about them is that Aegon the Conqueror named his dragons after them: Balerion and the other 2 I don't remember the names of.

The Baratheons traditionally worship the Seven, Stannis being the exception.

Awesome!! Thanks for that! I knew the Starks believed in the old gods haha, least i got that bit right :(

Peter Dinklage won an Emmy for best supporting actor tonight! I'm so glad! Peter deserved it very, very much! *fangirl scream*

Here is an image of him holding his trophy. :33

Peter: Hear me Roar!

I'm so happy he won. :inlove:

He really deserves it. I might not yet completely love his character, but he's sucha good actor I would have been let down to see him go home without it. :ryan:

Me too. If he didn't win, I would have thought there were other reasons behind it, and not one of him being a bad actor. :/

Also, he looks handsome in that suit :33

Haven't been on in forever....bah!

Well, if you guys haven't seen it yet, a trailer of sorts was released. The first one just displayed some font, but this one shows a bit more.

A lot of people happen to think it is not Stannis talking in the video, but it most certainly is! (Can't say more without spoilers, but if you want to know why just ask and I'll say it. :) )

I honestly cannot wait. A Song of Fire and Ice is one of the most brilliant stories I have ever read. I never read a story where I got so deeply attached to the characters or story -- I actually care! lol

Can't wait to see Stannis, my favorite Baratheon, on screen. His actor fits perfectly, I think. A little thin though...always pictured Stannis a little thicker, not like Robert of course. :P

The show is currently dated to be released in April of this year. A long...long...long wait.

Ugh! :raye:

April is way way way way way way way way wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too far away :ahmed:

Unlike you, I haven't read the stories yet. :( so I don't know who Stannis is but I hope he's cool :inlove:

I'm thinking maybe I should read the stories... that way I don't have to sit through anymore awkward sex scenes. :hmph:
