Aeris: Innocent or evil?

I edited your thread title for you. Aeris was spelled wrong. Anyway, I'm going to say I agree with the poster above me. I'm quite confused. 
How on earth would she be considered evil? The Cetra weren't evil when they were alive. Aerith died to save the planet, not destroy it. It was her that brought the lifestream out of the earth to attack Meteor. How on god's green earth does that make her evil? It's not logical.

Aeris? Evil? What was I playing? 
She was one of the most kindhearted females in the series to me. She was kind to the two men that fell through the church ceiling onto her flowers and seemed very innocent to the things happening around her. She inevitably ended up sacrificing her life to save the planet, which definitely defines her as being a kindhearted person, on par with savior. There was no action that she performed that could have defined her as an evil person.

As mentioned above, she is the most gentle, loving, caring Final Fantasy character next to Yuna. She gave her life to save the planet. What evil mastermind would do that??? Aeris is a sweetie, not evil What game did you play??
I was actually looking an articel that featured an alternate interpretation of Aeris and I do like Aeris but I wanted to read the article. Someone who hated Aeris actually wrote this but I cannot find it, I think it was a livejournal.
You know, it would have been an interesting twist if at the end Aeris really was evil and was pulling all the strings. The whole reason that she summoned holy was to wipe out all of humanity because they were destroying the planet, much like Sephiroth wanted to do and she would have only died to achieve immortality.

Sephiroth's sole intention was to damage or destroy the Planet with Meteor, and the only counteraction to that was Holy, only usable by Aerith. Why would she want to destroy the main threat to the world if she was evil in essence herself?

One of the things I love about Aerith's character is that despite her weak, helpless looking appearance, she's actually quite street smart, coy and capable of defending herself from enemies and pervs alike.
So in that sense I wouldn't say she's innocent, but evil? Of course not. She never had any malicious thoughts or intentions in the game. She simply was caught up in events and then found herself and purpose.
Although when trailers of Advent Children first started floating around, some people thought the person in the wheelchair was Aerith xD

Aerith appears in advent children in flashbacks cuz it indicates that they wanted to revive aerith,meaning that they regret killing her off in 7.

Aerith could never be evil let alone considered evil. I mean, did she ever even cuss in VII or make fun of someone? I believe she was the only one that never made fun of someone or cussed in anyway.
Like others have said, Aerith sacrificed her life for the sake of everyone on the planet, she always tries to cheer people up and give them hope, so how on earth could she ever be evil?
Nomura himself has said she's innocent, characters in the game have said it, she's ladylike as Nomura put it, so I think she's innocent because the creators have said she is.
And she's definitely not evil. Would an evil person die for the planet?

That wasn't really inconsiderate of her, not at all. She was trying to cheer him up, it's just her way of going about it wasn't right for Barret. But she still tried to help him, Barret is just hard to help.

Aerith? Evil??? Whoa. Never! She's like my favorite character and if she were evil...then was I playing something that was kinda LIKE FFVII? If she were evil, she'd side with Sephiroth, give him what he wanted and work along with him rather than sacrifice her life to save Cloud and the planet. She's a sweetie who fell in love with Zack and then Cloud. She does her best to help out everyone around her.

I wish people wouldnt make up false facts and stories about charecters from games....The only ones who know the truth of a charecter beyond what is portrayed to the gamer is the games' developers/creators......people have way to musch time on their hands methinks....
