If you're talking about at their best, than The Simpsons, by a mile. It was absurdly good at its peak, far better than the horrendously overrated Family Guy.

If you mean right now, than South Park probably. It's inconsistent, but when it hits the target it's hilarious. And the episode where it took the piss out of Family Guy pretty much summed that show up.

I would say Family Guy at the moment, or South Park. Simpsons was and still is great but it was FAR superior in its early days.
I just like the comedy value more in Family Guy!

Family Guy = Pure American Genius
LOLWUT?
I guess seinfield must have passed you by.

The simpsons is a extemely clever satire. Whereas family guy is written by manatees.

South Park pays homage to the simpsons, and american dad is shit mostly imo.

Also I never really liked futurama.

So I'd say the simpsons is the best. Closely followed by South Park, because SP is good, and BATDAD is epic win

It's funny how the young people don't like Family Guy. It's because they don't understand some of the jokes, imo. Shame.

But I'm voting "Other", because Drawn Together is, like, the funniest shit I've seen in my life! All the characters are stupid and the concept of an animated reality series is pure win :neomon:

I thought younger people preferred Family Guy. There really isn't much to get when it comes to the jokes on that show.

And I love Drawn Together. That show is epic. Drawn Together and South Park are the best.

I'm older than many people here and I don't much care for Family Guy as I said in my previous post. Whether you like the show or not, I don't think it's humour you 'need' to be older to get anyway (I don't mean that in a disparaging way, just that I don't think an 15-18 year old would get it any less than someone in their 20s).

Good call whoever mentioned that Seinfeld is an example of pure genius by the way :)

I'm having a hard time thinking of a character on South Park I don't like.

They're all pretty awesome. Jesus rules. Scrutator's picks are probably my favorites, though. Maybe add Mr. Garrison to that mix.

I hate gay stereotypes, so I think you all know who my least favorite character is in SP.

I like all the other characters, Chef being my favorite. Cartman's an easy second. My favorite ep., so far, might be the one when Cartman locks Butters in the bomb shelter to go to Casa Bonita ><

I love all stereotypes, because they provide lulz when the stereotypes are being satirised. They provide more lulz when people complain that stereotypes(by this I mean when people complain about specific stereotypes) are racist, sexist, homophobic etc.

Don't forget about Cartman, Butters and Stan's Dad either. I love those guys.
I wouldn't dare to, Cartman is probably my favourite character. When they play ninjas he gives himself every possible power.

I think that Russel Crowe was the best character ever though.

The Simpsons for me, although the new episodes are reeeaally losing it. The plots are becoming far too far-fetched imo, and the humour is just trying too hard. =/ The first few episodes were really unfunny aswell, but there was a period in-between where it was just right and plain hilarious. I didn't have very high expectations for the film given the standard of recent episodes, but I was very pleasantly surprised with it and laughed the whole way through. :wacky:

As for the others... I've never really watched American Dad or Family Guy... South Park is okay but the characters tend to irritate the hell out of me. >< One episode I actually remember that cracked me up was the Scientology one but meh, I've never really gotten into it.

Futurama so should have been on the list, I mean I'd still have voted The Simpsons but geeeeeeez. D:

I'd have to say Family Guy. South Park was freaking EPIC about five yeasr ago, but the episodes coming out nowadays just annoy me. I never liked The Simpsons, and I especially agree that their most recent episodes are just dumb. Never seen American Dad, but I think I'd like Family Guy better still. Their jokes are still funny as hell, and I love Peter's flashbacks. :D

south park. its just a great tv series. theres really no point in me explaining it because its just gonna be the same as everyone else.

family guy is also a very good series.

the simpsons is boring.

and american dad isn't funny enough... i mean i only laugh like at most one time during the entire show.....

Some of you are making one-liner posts, so let's avoid that please.

My vote goes to South Park. Their current season is alright but I love seasons 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. I just love it how Trey Parker and Matt Stone completely makes fun of anything that is current in the media such as the episode of when Butters went missing. They made fun of the Ramsey's, O.J Simspon, and Gary Condit.

Scott Tenorma must die, Christian rock hard, Krazy Kripples, Raisins, Woodland critter christmas, and Make love, Die hippie, die, Make love not Warcraft are my favorite episodes.

I miss Towlie and Mr.Slave!

Also, I like Family Guy and it's amusing to watch but it's getting rather dull. The Simpsons as well but I'm sick of hearing: "Hey Lois! Remember that time when I got hit by a car and it was Jerry Springer!?"

South Park, since Matt Stone and Trey Parker actually have a fair amount of creativity. It takes alot more talent to throw in clever parodies and satire than it does for Peter to get in a fight with a guy in a chicken costume.

That being said, don't misunderstand me, I love Family Guy. The show is hilarious, but it's one of the most talentless shows I've seen. American Dad is a step up from Family Guy because it actually follows more coherent plots and isn't a series of hilarious but random flashbacks. And the Simpsons just plain sucks. It was boring 5 years ago and it gets more boring every season.

I couldn't pick South Park because of cruel cursing. Which I hate.
Family Guy will have to be a win. It's way funnier than the Simpsons.
