Are you a 'cheap' gamer?

Heck no... I don't rent games but I had bought some preowned games. Most of the games I buy nowadays I wait until the price drops to $30 but in some cases I don't and end up buying the game at it's original price. To be honest, it's worth the money and time to play anyways.

If I'm waiting for something to be released then I won't wait another month or so for the price to start dropping, or rent it out, or trade in a few games to make up for some of the price tag. I'll just buy it outright and if it's not good enough then I'll take it back and get something else, or in some cases even get my money back.

If I'm out and about and I see something that I didn't even know was released yet and it's been a while since the price had peaked then of course I'm going to buy it. I can't help if it's £14.99 cheaper than the original R.R.P. :P

It really depends on the game, to be honest XD; I only buy games I'm really looking forward to when they first are released, I don't usually feel like dishing out $50+ like that. So most of the time I forget about them until somebody reminds me of them a few years later, and by that time they're under $20, so I just pick them up then XD

It depends, when the new Final Fantasys come out i'm going to buy them straight away. But like now, I'm waiting for Devil May Cry 4 to go into the 2 for £30 offer... So really, It's how bad I want the game...

ive always been a type of 'cheap' gamer, just because money is tight for me. (except with final Fantasy i wont mind putting cash down right away, or zelds, mario or metroid) but with games now adays not being nearly has good as they are made out to be, i really dont like wasting the money

With the higher prices now a days, and my low cash problem, i kinda have to be. When the 360 and ps3came out, i was left to cry alone on my bed with my ps2. But now one of my roomates has a 360 so woo

Oh, ghod yes! Most of my games are used, but that doesn't really bother me. Only one ever crapped out on me, but all other's work just fine. Some are missing manuals, but the game has enough in-game help info so it's not a big deal.

Most of the games I bought have been out for quite a while, so even if I buy a new game, they're prices have already been reduced quite a bit by the time I got to them :P

Heh,heh,heh...well,i'll be the first to admit I am.I usually wait for the game I want to go to $20's or below before I buy it (Greatist Hit or something, right?) because I never know if I'm going to like it or not and I hate renting.
I do the same thing! I only break the rule occasionally. I don't feel the need to spend bunches of money on a video game, even if I had that sort of money to waste.

Yes. :gasp:

I usually buy them once they platinum, or if I can't wait I mostly get them used. I don't really mine though. But depending on the game, I might get it brand new. I would only play $80 or less though.

It depends on the game like i brought MGS4, GTA4, DMC 4 and a few others at full price because i like the games. I stupidly purchased DBZ burstlimit at full price and was kicking myself for a week afterwards about my shite purchase :holyshit:

However there was a time where i wouldn't be able to walk out of Electronics boutique or JB HiFi without having a game neaty wrapped in a bag.

so to summerise: i used to buy at full price, all games but now i only buy a select few at full price and wait for the others to come down in price.

Also I went in and purchased a game the other day for a birthday present and when I opened it in the car to check it was all good the game wasn't in there nor was the instruction manual. Thank God for my curiosity that would have been embarrasing.

as im almost always skint, i normally am a cheap gamer, i never get brand new games, i just get old games on offer in various game shops. the only brand new game that ive paid full price for recently was when i got the guild wars collectors edition (all 3 games and the expansion) for £35

Ermmm You could say Im 50/50 I pay full prices for most games, or if Im wanting a game that I wouldnt pay all that for I wait and buy it on a cheaper offer price but Mainly I buy some pre-owned games but thats about it.

I'm definintely not a cheap gamer. If I don't get a game on release, I don't search for it in my bargain bin. In my mindset, only a few select games make it to the bargain bin. Some just can't make it there, and are discontinued before it drops below $40. So if I see something good in the bin, I grab it, but I don't actively search for games in the bin. I aim for release dates.

wierdly the last game i payed full price for was guild wars to.. same set.. but i payed £20 and i just normally get like 3-5 games at a time from game stores or places like cash-generator

I'm a cheap gamer only on games that aint at the top of my list but if its a game i really want i'll most definately get it as soon as it comes out.

Unless i'm skint, in that case i'd find a way to make sufficient funds for the game.

Yep most of the time I am a cheap gamer, unless its a title I really want say like FFXII or KH2 - I don't bother paying full price for games.

I usually get buy preowned games or if they on sale or if they come out on the budget range.

i always wait a year or two and then i enter youtube and see the game play of the game. and then i think about is it worth getting or not. and after two weeks of thinking i decide what i want to do.

Nah, not really. If there's a game I really want, I usually nab it at release time when it's at it's full price of $50-$60. I try not to get many games like that, but it always happens. However, I usually space out my time getting games so I'm not blowing my whole wad of money at once within a few weeks or even months. If I get a game ever 4-5 months brand new, that's a good deal for me I think.

Well I traded in six games to get an $80 discount off Guitar Hero: World Tour. I'm not sure if that makes me cheap though, seen as I bought most of those games for at least $80 and $20 was the maximum discount I got on a single game, so I technically lost about $300 in the long run.....Oh well at least I won't be missing them.
