Hmmm, well the beginning i'm really not so sure of to be quite frank with you 
However, I do like happy endings and well, Final Fantasy 9 had a really really cute ending. Zidane and Garnet

As for the beginning, uhm I guess i'll go with: Final Fantasy 8. If I recall correctly at least in my honest opinion, most of the beginnings are really slow (and or boring) and FF eight had me into the game more so then the others. I liked the opening a lot <3 Tis was rather interesting.
