LOL, no offense, but I hate those bastards at Geek Squad. They always side step what's actually wrong with the PC when they're explaining it to you because they don't actually know what's wrong. Or they try to use big computer words that would probably work on people who don't know anything about computers. "Oh yeah, that power supply is probably busted". It's like, wth are you talking about lol, it turns on FINE.
I could probably fix my own stuff, but it's always nice to get it "professionally" done I guess.
It really depends on the Geek Squad you go into, and the people they have working there. We don't screw things up at my store, and we do tell the customers the truth about what's wrong with their computer...we just charge RIDICULOUS prices to fix the problems.
As for me ripping people off, that has to do with services for warranties and in-home services that only people with more money than brains would buy into. At least Best Buy doesn't have the horrible rebates and overly-expensive protection plans like Circuit City did, that was my last job. I've been in Tech retail for the past 2 years now.
