General description: I am friendly, and I am really very easy to make laugh. I have quite a dry, sarcastic sense of humour myself but almost any humour will make me laugh. I do smile quite a lot but people do say I look quite stern and serious sometimes for no obvious reason. I am pretty stubborn although I will admit to being wrong. I have very high standards of myself and of others. If I'm hurt, generally I forgive, I do not hold grudges unless I see them as being for a good reason. I enjoy going for a drink, but I don't like partying. My main ambition in life is to see the world and learn as much about it as possible, past and present. I love history, languages and reading. Most of my favourite sports have to do with times past. I also enjoy playing chess. My dad and I traditionally play chess at 5 am on New Year's Day. How do you view a glass of water; Half full or half empty? I believe you should always try to view the glass as half full, I know it's not always easy and it really depends on the circumstances. If you see the glass as half empty then you have basically closed off the possibility of being able to find better idea's to turn a neutral\bad situation into something positive.

Other: My highest passion has always been foreign languages. I translate regularly from German and Latin for a Reformed Presbyterian website; I have one Latin translation that was recently published in a major periodical; and my personal goal is to learn Mandarin Chinese so thoroughly that I can translate the major works of George Gillespie and Samuel Rutherford into that language. I am fairly fluent in German; I read Latin fluently and am teaching myself to speak it conversationally; currently I am also teaching myself Mandarin, Russian, and a bit of Swiss German. I know a lot of Spanish from high school but have mostly let it languish. I know bits and pieces of Dutch, French, Modern and Biblical Hebrew, Modern and Biblical Greek, Korean, and Japanese. I plan to expand on those languages later, and to add to them Italian, Arabic, Cantonese, Icelandic, Swedish, Norwegian, and Portuguese. I also want to learn the Pfälzisch and Bairisch dialects of German in addition to the standard Hochdeutsch. I want to get into an Applied Linguistics program in the near future and synthesize the theory and methods from that field with those of Applied Behavior Analysis.

My other main hobby is game collecting. Currently, I am shooting for a total collection of 322 titles across PS1, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, XBOX One, Wii, and Wii U--which, if you factor in compilations, comes to a total of 438 separate games (406 once you also factor in multi-plat redundancies). However, this number is constantly in flux and only liable to increase as I consider adding in PS4, Gamecube, and XBOX Original collections. Currently I own 142 separate physical-copy titles--13 PS1, 20 PS2, 14 PS3, 35 Wii, 11 Wii U, 40 XBOX 360, and 9 XBOX One. My biggest concern right now is amassing PS3 and XBOX 360 titles before the servers for the updates go down. I do try to get all physical copies, but I also grab up digital copies if I can get them on sale. I would have to say my favorite to collect for is the Wii, because I just love the way that system looks on display, its user interface, and its unique game selection.

Height: I like to tell people 5’ but it’s actually 1/4 in shorter but when you’re short you’ve got to grab every little fraction you can.

Weight: lets just say I’m heaver then I should be but don’t look that heavy (I’m not saying I don’t look chubby, just not a chubby as the scale tells me I am).

Race: Well that’s a bit complicated - I was adopted. My mom’s Polish and dad’s side is from the south. I was told my birth father was a Canadian Mountie that died in service and my birth mom was here in Michigan but my mom’s side of the family has relatives in Canada and I was given to my parents before the paperwork was completed so I guess, you tell me how to sort that out. I tend to identify with Polish.

Religion: Raised Catholic, but haven’t been to mass in quite a while. The Catholic Church has become more big business then anything else and I have a problem with that. That being said, I still keep with the Polish tradition of Easter Basket blessing and I still believe in the saints and still say my prayers.

Favorite food: Polish - Pierogi (my own homemade not store bought - I make it like my Grandmother and Mom and make a lot of them - like over 100), Stuffed Cabbage (with tomato), Polish Meatballs with gravy (there’s a Polish name for it but I don’t know how to spell it), Cornbread, Cornbread Stuffing and I like to bake so there are some good stuff there too like Cheese Cake and a great Chocolate bunt cake that is just awesome - a lot of work, but awesome.

Favorite drink: Tea, dark tea, with milk and sugar. I’ve been drinking tea for as long as I can remember. I even remember having tea in my baby bottle, not to mention taking it with me in grade school and high school instead of milk or pop.

Favorite Color: I don’t know, maybe red. I wear a lot of black but when you’re a little on the heavy side it provides good camouflage.

Favorite Animal: Dogs and cats - especially black cats (my first cat was black and he was the sweetest, gentle, and loving cat). I guess they don’t say “crazy cat lady” for nothing, but PLEASE stop trying to give me cats!!! I’m not the local shelter, nor am I the local animal group - go talk to them. Actually, I have 5 and if I find the right home I really would like it to become 3. I did get talked into adopting the 2 extra ones. One was in danger of being put down.

Favorite music: Definitely The Moody Blues, Justin Hayward’s solo stuff, John Lodge’s solo stuff, Def Leppard, Midge Ure, and Badfinger but I’m adding to that list with Three Days Grace, Saint Asonia, Adam Gontier’s solo stuff, Foo Fighters, Creed, Staind, The Dear Hunter, Kamelot, Nickelback. There’s more but this is the top ones. I tend to “binge” bands. I mean I might listen to nothing but Moody Blues a week straight or longer, then maybe Def Leppard the same way all day. Right now I’m binge listening Three Days Grace and Saint Asonia.

Concerts you’ve attended: I have basically stuck to The Moody Blues but been to at least 5 of their concerts. The audiences are always polite and not pushy. I once saw 3 or 4 generations sitting together at one of their concerts and the youngest was looked like an infant. BUT the Moody Blues are getting up in age so it’s time to find a new band to go to their concerts and I’m dreading the crowds, but I’ve got to get over that because I’ll never find a concert crowd quite like The Moody Blues and I’ve got to stop looking for that.

Favorite Video Games: Final Fantasy XII, XV, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (except the jury is still out on this one, so to speak - it doesn’t seem to be as good as the first but at least fewer things fall through the floor when dropped like weapons and such).

Were you baptized at birth? Yes, actually, no one is baptized at birth. It’s usually about a month or so after.

Current grades in school, or when you were in school: I did all A’s and a couple B’s in high school (long time ago - wow) but did very poor in gym and the balance beam, uneven parallel bars couldn’t flip over those things without help (had a sever fear of heights - it’s better but still bad). They felt sorry for me and gave me a C, told me I should have gotten a F for not being able to swing 6 feet off the ground by myself (yea right). I graduated college Summa Cum Laude with my mom. Helped her realize her dream of going to college. Sounds nice but the degree I ended up with was what she wanted not me so it was kinda useless to me but I was able to grant her her last wish so it still was worth it.

How do you view a glass of water; Half Full or Half Empty: I’d say half full. When shit’s crashing down around me I tend to laugh or smile anyway. My neighbor asked me about that one day when the whole day went MAJOR bad and I told her I can either laugh or cry and crying doesn’t help anything it only gets me a migraine so I might as well laugh.

Favorite Anime, if any: I don’t know, I want to say some of the Final Fantasy stuff but so much isn’t in English that it makes it hard for me to enjoy it.

Personality: I’ve always been very shy, and still am. I’m also kind, caring, loyal, giving. (I sound like a puppy - just don’t pat me on the head or I won’t be able to resist the urge to bark.) I’m the type of person that would go out of her way to help you even if it hurts me and it doesn’t take much for me to put you on my list of top priorities list - the one that’s titled “you need help, I drop everything and come running”. That’s not to say I don’t get angry, I do. If I’m angry and yelling, you’re still good. It’s when the volume then goes down to normal and I’m still angry that my words can cut but at the same time when I get that angry it makes me physically sick so I usually try to walk away before it gets to that point and I’m actually getting better at that.

Are you in a relationship? Well, that’s complicated. I was with someone who never considered me his girlfriend, but we lived together for a while. I moved out, but I”m still driving him where ever he needs to go, doing errands, and stuff like that but we were never really “together”- just friends. Then if I look at it that way. No, not in a relationship. Would I be open to one, sure, why not.

Would you forgive those who hurt you? I would and did, over and over again. Except for a couple family members, but the hurt wasn’t against me but against my mom and that I couldn’t forgive. So, I guess I’m a lot less forgiving if the person hurts someone I care about.

Favorite Book(s): The Thomas Covenant series by Stephen R. Donaldson. Also, Apprentice Adept, Xanth by Piers Anthony but I wish the last 2 were on audio books. Actually, I don’t see Xanth ever being audio book, there’s just too many - 41 and counting. A much as I like them I’ve only read the first 23 give or take.

Other stuff: I used to play this small organ we had at home quite well but it had the keys numbered and lettered so I never learned to read music. I’m taking lesions to correct that so I can play again. I know a few words in Polish and sometimes when I’m not thinking I’ll use a polish word instead of English and that irritates some people. I know a good Polish joke and love to pull it on people. The joke is good - simple but my delivery method is what gets people. The delivery system being, I tell you it in Polish, line by line (there’s only 2 lines) and ask you to repeat it back to me, in Polish the best you can. When we both completed it in polish THEN I tell you what you just said. Everyone imagines the worst. I’m an only child and growing up my family (my parents and me) had a habit of hanging on each other, hugging, cuddling and stuff like that. There’s been times when I’ve slipped up and gave a friend a hug and sometime that can irritate people.

I’ve got friends that would freak about how much I shared here but hell, I’ve played it safe my whole like and all it’s gotten me is a “Crazy Cat Lady” package at my doorstep.
