Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

If she is in the game, I just wonder how she'll be playable. Going by this barefeet/blue kimono footage, she'll be her FFX summoner-self.

So, what? Would she just stand in one place and have summons doing the actual fighting? How would that work with the summons already in the game? I know she has white magic, and has the potential for black magic, but if she would be a magic user, Lulu would've been a more obvious choice :hmmm:

Furthermore, I think we all agree her alt. costume would be her gunner-self from FFX-2, but then would that have any physical impact in gameplay where she would be controllable in battle, or just for the sake of looking that way?

I think she'll be able to switch between Gunner and Summoner, like Cecil can switch between Dark and Light.

They'll give her magic to fight with, probably. It makes sense if they add Yuna. If Terra and Kefka can fight only with magic, so can Yuna :)

I think it'll be fun. We needed more females, the cool ones xD

That's a good point. :hmmh: How will that even work? The other characters would be able to smash on her while she just sat there summoning. That's not only not fair, but lame. :ahmed:

She technically could use her staff and maybe like her spell attack could be the Summon's attacks like she holds their power or something....like she could use Blizzard, Fire, Thunder etc.

I would like to see more villains put in, now that the heroes have 5 more members. The worst part is, they need to fill in the 2 empty spots for XI and XIII. Personally, I think they should put the Shadow Lord from XI as the XI villain. However, I don't think Falenth Dysley would make a worthy villain for XIII even though he is the main antagonist.

Other characters I would love to see:
Gilgamesh - Just because he should be MUCH more then a summon.
Locke - He seems more of the main character then Terra.
Ozma - No, I'm just kidding. You freaking crazy?
Seymour - Even though Yuna is his actual enemy, and not Tidus, I feel Seymour could affect Tidus' story.

Tetsya Nomura shares a few additional comments on Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy in this week's Famitsu. Nomura tells the magazine that there are additional character announcements on the way, including character(s) from the Super NES Final Fantasy games. Also, it looks like the original's story will be included in Duodecim.
There will be some sort of surprise announcement at the January 18 1st Production Something-Or-Other event. I believe this is in reference to Duodecim.
Soooo...SNES character predictions, anyone? =D

I'm betting on Faris and or Celes for now :jess:

As for the Jan. 18th, that was mentioned already. I just hope that electrifying character shown on that date isn't Yuna-if footage of Jump Festa pans out, it'll be the Tifa situation all over again-we knew she was already in, but then official confirmation came along but nothing more :ness:

I would love to see Faris, Celes, Shadow, Rydia... SOMEBODY from the snes generation who hasn't really been glamourized yet (other than DS remake). They really deserve it for understated characters.

Famitsu has first details on the special Duodecim PSP system this week. The system's top will be pearl white with an illustration from Yoshitaka Amano. The back will be matte black.

As reported earlier (see below) Tetsuya Nomura reveals in the magazine that the original's story will be included with Duodecim. It's apparently being remade to go along with the new 3D map-based story mode. Together, the original's story and Duodecim's story will take about 60 hours to clear.

Update from last post from andriasang.

Assuming the first is true, ugggggggggghhhhhh...Always! Always UK get's some awesome swag xD

What about Canada? We shouldn't be included with America-we didn't even get the reversible cover! Dx

Feck, I might actually import this. I held off from FFXIII and KH:BbS, but I think I'm too weak to resist ;A;

My bets for Tifa's alt. costume would be her "mountain girl" outfit from Crisis Core.

i love being in the uk sometimes :)

Europe? So vague... I hope Australia gets a look in to it too.
As for Europe getting all the swag, spare a thought for us plebs down in the boondocks in Australia who couldn't even get Left 4 Dead without major, game altering changes and have seen other games just pass us by (yeah, the third Phoenix Wright game? We're still waiting for that). You yanks have it (relatively) easy.

As for new characters, if Yuna gets confirmed I think that'll be it for Cosmos characters - we might see a couple of villains but, for the most part, it'd stay as is. If Yuna is in, I do hope they treat her with respect and don't whore her out like they did in FF X-2.
I heard one friend of mine simplify the Dressphere system into "the less she's wearing, the more powerful she is". I thought he was joking, but when I saw pictures and movies I was proven sadly, tragically wrong.
Please, Square Enix, listen to the plea of a simple fan and DON'T TURN A DEMURE PRIESTESS INTO A STRIPPER AGAIN!!!

That is all.

Need I remind some of you to keep the one-liners to a minimum? If this is to persist yet again, the least that will happen is that posts will be freely deleted. Thank you.

what new characters :rage: where are the pictures :rage:

What Fusionist posted is a disclosure from Nomura that there will be more characters to be revealed and that they will probably be characters from the SNES era games. The announcements are not due yet until later, so there are no available images yet at the moment.

Right, so in case no one's seen it yet, here's the condensed interview from Famitsu with Nomura and Takahashi about Duodecim

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/12/21/nomura_takahashi_dissidia/

Sorry, didn't feel like copypasting all that, but there's one thing that I'm actually concerned about for the first time for Duodecim.

They claim Duodecim's story is roughly 15 hours, and that the remainder is the "remake" of Dissidia getting shoved into the game.

Now, no problem with the remake bit, but if Duodecim's story is only gonna net at most 15 hours, that pretty much tells me there's going to be story modes for ONLY the new characters announced, none of the of the Cosmos warriors from Dissidia D=

Now granted, Cecil may get face time in Kain's POV, Terra in Vaan's, Cloud's in Tifa's, Squall in Laguna's, and I'm sure at least WoL and Bartz in Lightning's to a certain extent, but...Yeah, I'm a little deflated :/

Well, there's 5 character's revealed so far, likely at least 2 more to come, so we'll almost have the same amount of story anyways, but still...

Also, we still don't know who the lucky Chaos POV will end up being. I said a while ago I think that it would be the POV of a new character, and I'm gonna stick to that theory for a little while more (lol, I swore no more theories after Laguna shocked me, but oh well xD).

Also, because I'm a dummy, I didn't realize SNES era began from FFIV, so I think Nomura saying only expect characters from that point and onwards mean no one from FF1, 2, or 3 >.<

I might be a rascal for suggesting it, but perhaps there's not going to be one storyline for each character - no "focus", per se, but having a fewstorylines shared between characters. For example, having a storyline around the Vaan/Terra saga or the Cecil/Golbez/Kain fiasco.

I'd probably be happier if they did this than if they shoehorned everybody into singular roles like they did in the original. I know the limitations of the system forced their hand, but it still felt very unnatural every time somebody said "I have to do this alone" or "he's mine" or, even worse, when no explanation was given.

Well like I said, I can see other characters appearing in a certain character's story mode and being heavily involved in terms of the plot. Although you make an interesting idea about a shared POV all together. We see parties traveling on the map, so maybe there's some merit to the idea O.O

Faggy to you (and what a loaded word, dude, seriously) but flippin' gorgeous to me ♥

(well, as much as I can call a fictional pixelated character attractive, anyways xD)

And omg, yes

"Leg...leg cramp!" xD

But what's with this new accent Laguna's sporting in the game. Wtf is life'd suppose to be a contraction of? Life did? Life would?

I'm liking his character though. Heart to hearts with Squall, teasing Lightning, getting embarrassed in front of CoD...lol

I think it's a contraction of life would, Fusionist. It's the only phrase that makes any sort of sense there... though Laguna isn't one for making sense at the best of times. And yes, the "leg cramp" incident looks absolutely friggin' hilarious! Bonus points if it's in one of his character-sensitive starting quotes (I can see it now... him vs. CoD: "C'mon... don't cramp up on me now...")

So here we get another vital glimpse into the story mode and it's looking more and more (at least to me) like this is the only (or one of a select few) story mode that will be available, though it does appear to be a deep and intriguing one. I guess we won't know enough to make any sort of educated guesses, but it looks like this iteration has the pawns tested emotionally and physically.

As for Squall's new outfit, it's not my cup of tea (he's just too dignified in that SeeD uniform for me to look at anything else), but I wouldn't go so far to say it's faggy - just... misguided. No, I'd like to see some other character's alternate costumes; see what they're doing with Kuja or Garland or Shanotto (if she gets an alt that turns her into Vivi, I'm throttling the designers with a straw hat).

Lastly, a stinger for all y'all to think on: who hasn't been mentioned so far and why? There are a lot of people who I would have thought to be very squee-worthy that have not yet been introduced - Zidane, Jecht, Bartz... Why haven't we seen what's been done with them, I wonder?

We've seen Bartz and Zidane in the TGS trailer, and testimonials mention Jecht in the Jump Festa trailer. But in general, I guess the focus is largely on the new characters and other characters that have a likely relation with them...I think :hmmm:

And, well, there's still a while before the release date-they could just be spreading out "reveals" evenly or something :P

I noticed on the Japanese site's character section, they don't have any reps from FF2, FF5, FF9, FF10, or FF11 up yet. I was thinking maybe that it might give an idea of who the new characters could come from then, since once the new characters got revealed, the corresponding ones from Dissidia got put up as well O.O

Of course there's no real basis for this, but I'm putting my gil on someone from FF5, FF9 and FF10 (although the whole Yuna hint/rumour kind of made that decision for me, lol)
