Do you look your age?

I was at a party last week, and a young girl asked how old I was, i said, Im 26. No youre not she said, your 18, shes 18 isnt she? Im nottt im 26, she WELL wasnt having it, linzi had to sit and tell her we went to school together and taht I definately WAS 26, she well wasn't having it hahah, and on that note, I better find my ID before I go to the shop 8F

Oooh when I was pregant as well, some couple were sat in a cafe near us and BLATANTLY pointed at me and said, sumamt like, look at her, pregnant at her age...what age exactly, mother had a fit and pointed out I was almost 22 :wacky: Cheeky judgemntal bastards. I think with being assumed as much much younger than I am, thats probably the only thing that bothers me, the way people look at me when I have Ellie. You can actually see them doign the maths in there head and probably assuming I was like, 14 when I got pregnant, it REALLY irritates me

It used to bug me all the time peopel assuming I was way younger than I was, but that's what bothers me the most 8F

I managed to get on the buses til I was 20 though for childs fare hahaha 8F

No. Never apparently.

It depends on how I wear my hair. xD

With it left loose, I get mistaken for being anywhere from 16-19. I get ID'ed ALOT. -__- Probably doesn't help that if my hair is down, I tend to wear baggy shirts xD No idea why. So kid thought I was 14 once. FOURTEEN! how the FUCK do I look 14 :gonk:

If I tie it back I sometimes look my age... depending on HOW it's tied back. If it's just back in a loose ponytail, that's probably when most people get my age right.

If I put it up properly or pin it back or wear it in a bun, I get mistaken for being 24+ :gasp: And usually for being a teacher/librarian of some sort. XD

If I'm wearing a tighter fitting top, they don't even try to guess my age .... :vikki:

My physical age is two to three years older and my mental age is two-seven(!!!) years older. :gonk: VERY annoying sometimes (Especially when catching the bus...)

Oh god. So, I'm 23 years old, but people in Japan often seem to think that I'm more like 30. They say it's because I "feel" mature, that I dress nicely and am not a complete and utter retard.

It's nice, in a way, but the other day I was out with a friend who is 27. She got told she looked about MY AGE and I was told that everyone thought I was HER AGE! Abject rage ;___;

I don't mind people thinking I'm mature, but come on guys! Don't make me old before my time!

...
Most people assume that I am older then I really am. Like right now most people think I am around my mid 20s.

I think most people are mistaken for being younger than they are. I find it very annoying when people think I'm in my mid teens when I'm actually in my early 20's.

I do look pretty young, but I know I look at least 16-17+ I find it really rude and stupid of some people to say I look about 13 or something, it's very clear I don't look that young from anyone with any sort of common sense.

I think if your shorter than average people will always say you look younger than you are. I can guarantee anyone that gets told they look younger and aren't tall will instantly look their age or over with just a few inches.
People are so simple minded really.
Also if you don't have features that are typical of older, more 'mature' people. Such as a longer face, larger facial features (nose, jaw), people will think you look younger. The opposite of this is having a round-ish face and small facial features. Having chubby cheeks makes you look younger too and being skinny maybe.

I think it's to do with the eyes as well. Some people have older, tireder looking eyes while some people have innocent large childlike looking eyes.

I have a young personality/persona also, so that probably doesn't help. But what do people expect someone my age to act like anyway? Boring, serious and miserable? Never acting childish in any way? :P

All these things make you look (and seem) a lot younger in general I guess.
You basically have to not have features that a really young person would have. Whether it be looks or personality. That doesn't mean it's bad to look older either, you might just give off a mature vibe. ;))

Oh and you know what happens when I wear heels, put on make up and have my hair styled? I get told I look so much older (in the good way, as in my real age!). No one can look like that all the time though, so people shouldn't automatically assume your really young because your not dolled up 24/7 either.

Lol I would feel weird being in public if I ever got pregnant or had a child. People would probably give me funny looks as if I'm a teenage mum!

I've never been ID'd when I've gone to the bar or somewhere like GAME to get 18+ games so I'll take it on that note I look older than I am, or at least over 18 since you can't ask your friends or family since they know how old you are >.>
It's better looking older when you're under 18 :ryan:

I'd say I look a tad younger than my age would suggest. At 22, I often find myself getting carded when I attempt to purchase tickets for movies rated "R."

I went to the movies with my brother (age 19), and a friend (age 18). They went ahead of me as we bought out tickets. Neither of them got carded, but I--sure enough--did. I'm 6'5" with a thin layer of facial hair, but I guess they thought I might've been younger than 17. I don't look like a geezer, but I don't look THAT young.

Sometimes. There are times when people get my age right, and times when they mistake me as older or younger.

The ones who think I'm younger than my actual age or get my age right are people who are younger than me. Those who mistake me as being older than my actual age are those who are the same age as me, or those who are older.

They say it's because I look young, but have a 'mature' aura. Apparently.

It's funny I don't get asked for ID that often even though most people seem to think I'm definitely under 18. Everyone has such different ways of seeing age, though usually they love to tell people how young they look so if you look like you could be a teenager they'll say you look really young. So annoying! I think the make-up helps though. :) I guess you have no options really if your a guy, other than to gain weight. If your short and a guy you have no chance of looking your age if your young, lol.

I'm not even sure, maybe my face does but anything else on me doesn't seem to fit my age, people say its maybe a little too developed for my age? I mean I'm 17, its nothing special to see well development at this age or so I can only hope. Sometimes when I am tired I may look a bit older than I am really am which is sometimes embarrassing but then again, ya can't always look young.

So for the moment, it depends on what I wear, how I sit and how tired I am, I suppose my hair has somehting to do with it, but I never really chage my hair style all that much xD

Hmm, To me... nahh. I look younger. idk XD some people say I 'got that kindof face'<---- whatever that means.... and some say that I still have a 'baby face' :/ kindof bugs me but i don't really know... XD.
i'm 19 'bout to be 20 next year in March you decide :monster:

People always say I look older than I look whenever I forget to shave but even if I do people thinks I'm a year or so older than my actual age. I actually thought I looked younger than my age but w/e the majority opinion always outweighs an individual.

The majority of the time I look reaaaaally young and I have to bring some sort of ID to get into 15 movies and such (I actually got asked for ID when I was trying to get into a 12). Bit of a pain in the ass, but maybe I'll look proper young when I'm like fifty.
But other times I look my age.
It depends what I'm wearing.
;]

Nope. Im 25 in 2 months and I still get IDed. Got IDed for Left 4 Dead 2 lol XD Guy said I looked 17 rofl. Plus my workmates say Im about 21. Its a blessing I guess, but a curse at the same time lol XD Pisses my mates off royally!

Apparently, I don't.

I often get away with purchasing M rated games and/or R rated movies, and the oldest I've been mistaken for is 19. It's actually pretty funny, because I remember one time going into school and forgetting to sign in before I went to see my guidance counselor. The woman at the sign-in desk said, "Oh, excuse me, student teachers need to have a visitors pass before meetings". She was shocked when I told her that I was just a freshman.

It may be because of the way I dress, or even how I act. I'm not a fan of teenagers who dress tackily, so that may set me apart from people my age.

Well, I never actually been told that, but I suppose I do look close to, or exactly, my age. Only knew this from experience, where people commented that my mother looked like my younger sister... What does that mean?! I think my mother does look rather youthful though, so I'm going with the statement that I look around my age.

Last week I've been ID'd for the first time in my life. I could buy alcohol at age 15 (need to be 18), but now I was getting checked for buying cigarettes (need to be 16) while I'm 23. -_-

People say I look like I'm 17 but I'm actually 20...turning 21 in March :wacky: but I look old enough to buy rated M games without them asking for a picture ID!!! I think it's the beard that gives it away. But the worst part is I still have that high screechy voice like I'm still trying to hit puberty but royally failing >_< people mistake me for my mother on the phone sometimes...but in my defense, she does have a deep voice.

I don't know really. I don't buy alcohol very often but I rarely get asked for ID when I do. But on the other hand I was taking to someone the other day and she seemed pretty surprised when I said I was 20. When I was younger some people thought I was older than I looked. For example I remember some kid thought I was like 21 when I was 16.

There was one particularly interesting occurrence when I was about 16. Me and some friends went to German beer festival. At the gate it said that children under 13 were allowed in for free, so me and one of my mates pretended to be under 13 to get in and then when we were in we were able to get served alcohol without being asked for ID.

Anyway the point is that people mistake me for being both older and younger than I am. However I've found that people who are younger than me seem more likely to guess my age wrong.
