Do you look your age?

So when I was a teenager (14-17) people would always tell me I looked older than my age. Happened a lot in high school. Now that I’m in my early 30s now, I don’t know I guess maybe I do look my age...? Maybe even older on days when I’m tired and stressed. 😣 How I wish to look younger though! It’s freaking me out a little, doing this 30s life. So this is what it’s like. Before I know it I’ll be 40 and crying that I’m in my 40s. How will I look then? 🥺

Ugh, can we not?

I've always looked older than I was, even when I was a toddler apparently. Kids used to always be surprised in school when they learned I was younger/a grade lower than them. I think at one point when I was 10 or 11 years old I had a lady ask me if I was an employee at the store we were at - and my young brain felt so sophisticated like the elegant gentlewoman I was. :monocle: There were times though, as I got older, where I would look back and see that not much had really changed, if at all. Now though I finally look like I've aged. I don't get carded much at all, but if & when I do it's mostly because of the adopted 40 & under rule.

I think there is only two occasions that I can recall being mistaken for being younger than I was. The first was when the clerk asked to see my ID because she thought my then-boyfriend was buying booze for me. The second being when I went into a high school for work related business and one of the teachers flagged me down because she thought I was a new transferred student - and then a substitute teachers - and then a photographer - and then finally the person there to fix their computer (when she finally let me talk).

I think these days kids look much older than they are than they used to back when I was younger in school, but maybe it's just me. I think I would have fit better in if that was the case when I was in school :hmm:

😬 I think hitting 30 is going to be hard for me for some reason. I turn 29 in March so I've got roughly another year of my 20's. They say 30 is the new 20 though!

Uh... Have I posted here?

Probably look my age, could get away with a few years off. I'm 29, turning 30 in January, it's not the end of the world. :ROFLMAO:

I feel older than I am and, personally, I think I look a wee bit older than my actual age. But then people always seem to think I'm in my early/mid twenties. Which I guess is cool. :monster:

I had actual 13 year old lads go up to me and cheekily ask me out. And I'm double their age.

I think that speaks for itself. As much as I fancied the fantasy in my head of totally owning these wee little pricks, I think I just wordlessly ran away from them. No, I don't actually look like someone half my age, but if I waltzed into any random university campus and told faculty staffers and students that I'm 18 and just about ready to start university for the first time, no one would bat an eyelid.

To be fair, mentally speaking, I don't seem to act like my actual age anyway. My mental age has in all likelihood spiraled downwards over the last few years or so. By the time I hit 30, I'll either be in a straitjacket or the real-life equivalent of the film Orphan.

I had people say that I look younger than what I look. This has happen to me many times. I don't know why they keep saying that. Maybe is because of my face or my skin that makes me look younger.
