Now this question is mostly aimed at the members who have been here for a little while as I'm assuming that most of the new members would've joined because they like FF at least a little bit. But anyway do you still like FF? Or rather do you like FF as much as you did when you first joined this site?

Personally I wouldn't say I hate the series or anything but I don't really care about it that much. I don't have any real motivation to replay any of the games. Nor do I really care about keeping up with the news about the new upcoming games. I'll probably still buy the new games as they come out but I'm not counting down the days or anything.

When I first joined this site I had played about 3 of the main games. Now I have played almost all of them. I guess part of the reason why my interest has declined would be because the series isn't fresh to me anymore or maybe I've just grown up a bit. :sad3:

Anyway I thought it would be interesting to see how many regulars at FFF actually like FF. :wacky:

I'm still very interested in the new releases, but I must admit that the games cant really live up to my expectations anymore. Maybe because they arent "fresh" anymore as you put it...Yes they are still huge games, but the storylines and their universes arent as exciting as they use to be, which imo was a huge factor in the first FF games I played.
But overall, I still like FF.

I rarely think about Final Fantasy now. When I do it is mainly for nostalgic purposes. I sometimes (though rarely now) listen to the music of some of the earlier games and then replay scenes from the games in my head to the music.

Even when I was younger I didn't tend to replay Final Fantasy games seriously. If I ever did attempt a new game I barely got beyond the beginning each time (for example, with FFVII I'd get to the end of the first Midgar section, or with FFIX I'd get to Lindblum after the Black Waltz chase). I could never stick it out to replay the entire game again.

About a year or more ago I used to think about replaying all the games, but then I realised how much time that would take. Unfortunately, as much as I love them, it is this which stops it for me. There are still lots of things I can take from FF, from the story and characters and music etc, but when it come to actually sitting down and playing the games it becomes impractical for me now. If I was ever to seriously play them again, I'd have to give lots of other things up which are all more important to me right now.

In terms of gaming, there are other franchises out now that attract me more. I'd much rather play Uncharted or Assassin's Creed than any RPG at the moment. Replaying my childhood (well, teenage, I guess) favourite games does sound great, but I'd have to give up everything else to do it. I don't game much as it is, so when I do game I guess I want to gain something from it now. Replaying something I did last decade isn't giving me anything new at the moment.

As for new FF games, they don't attract me as much as the older ones. I prefer FFs 1-10 (though less so about 10) than any of the ones that followed. I've never had the urge to replay any of the ones that followed even if I enjoyed parts of those games.

I still love it! :D Since joining the site, Final Fantasy X has moved from my second favourite game (behind Zelda: Wind Waker) to my absolute favourite!

The music has always been beautiful to me and I still listen to certain tracks when on the move; I recently burned a few tracks to a CD so I could listen to them in the car as I drove! :D

I was less fussed when I joined the site... At the age of 15, I hated the turn-based battle systems. I played the games for their stories, but always craved the gameplay in Zelda and the original Spyro series. Now, I adore the gameplay in Final Fantasy X, and find the other games interesting to play in part. I enjoy developing a strategy and building up my characters so that they're just at the right level to tackle the next boss. :)

Nevertheless, I wouldn't replay them... There are far too many new games to explore and the FF games are lengthy. I am incredibly glad I recorded all the cut scenes from FFX when I was 15; I don't mean the FMVs, I mean ALL of the cutscenes. It means I can revisit the story any time I want! :) I cut the scenes down to about 4 1/2 hours. :wacky:

I still like the old titles, but as far as how interested I am in the series nowdays? not a lot. Most of the FF games released since Square Enix happened have just been completely shit.

So in that regard, no, I do not really look at Final Fantasy with anticipation anymore.

I'm still a fan of the old titles. But I don't play them any more :hmmm: I don't have the time to sit down and spend 30+ hour completing an RPG. Last time I played one it took me weeks, and that was a couple of years ago. Now I'm much busier and I'd never get it done.

It's more practical now for me to play things with shorter storylines. Now I've got my PS3 the main things I play are the Assassin's Creed games and CoD. The shorter storylines mean I can actually complete them and the multiplayer on CoD can be played any time without continuity.

As for whether I'm still interested in buying the new FF games; no. I haven't played one since FFXII which wasn't bad but I played it once and didn't pick it up again.
I bought FFXIII last year when I got my PS3 but got sidetracked by other PS3 games. Over a year on and I still haven't played it so I won't be buying any newer ones that come out.

i dont hate it, but i dont replay any of them and i wont be buying any of the new releases. i got 13 and didnt finish it because it was a bit of a disappointment and i think i've grown out of the series.

Like everyone else I'm still a big fan of the older titles. However with the new games they're releasing nowadays, my opinion is mixed. Do I still like Final Fantasy? Yes. Will I buy every Final Fantasy game that comes out? Depends on the game and if it looks interesting enough for me.

I'm still a fan of the older series but nowadays I just don't get excited about any new releases as much as I used to. I haven't played an FF game in about five years so I guess I don't miss it much. I blame the RPG system but other than that I still love the stories SE creates... they're so brilliant. :ryan:

I think I'm more of a FFVI/VII/VIII/X/X-2 fan than an "FF fan" in general. I just happened to like four titles in the series. The other games I've never really played and don't really feel the urge to either.

I've had my fill of Final Fantasy probably for a long while now until Square finally decides to release something that vaguely looks like Versus - you know, the vapourware game that's been floating around for over half a decade and still hasn't yet materialised much. I still love the old games to death, and unlike a lot of people here, I really enjoyed FF12 despite its flaws, and it's regrettable that FF13 has been such a painful step back for the franchise. However, I've played through each of them probably way more than enough by now, and I no longer have the time nowadays to replay any of them even if I want to. The time I do have, I'm dedicating it to other franchises.

Versus is perhaps the only thing left that is vaguely keeping me interested and up to date in terms of the news, and even then, it's simultaneously doing the opposite thing. Nearly half a dozen years later now and they have still shown us barely jack shit. It's enough to make any gamer lose their interest in the end. It was a terrible strategy from Day 1. There's Type-0 too, but that appears to be Japan-only as far as we know of. The very limited intrigue I had for FF13-2 has all but gone now and I'm totally passing up on that game. If there is one RPG I do want to play, it's either Skyrim and/or Mass Effect 3. It's kind of depressing that I've such little enthusiasm for any Final Fantasy game now after FF13. Either that, or it's probably a blessing, considering nowadays I barely game anymore.

Yeah I still like it. Especially the women. Love the women. Final Fantasy was basically the franchise that introduced me to RPGs (which now seem to be called JRPGs with the West making their own style of RPGs), Final Fantasy VII it was. The idea of running around and having to level up was a bummer at first but I got used to it. I just don't play them all the time. I think the last one I replayed for a little while was Final Fantasy VII before I stopped.

I doubt it'll surprise anyone to learn this, but I honestly don't care for the Final Fantasy series anymore. I've found better, more enjoyable games since the days when about 90% of what I played was an FF game of some description, and I honestly wonder how I could have ever liked the series as much as I did, when there are games vastly superior to them out there...many of them older than the FF game one might compare them to.

Current blunders don't erase past accomplishments, but time has dulled them somewhat. As it is at the moment, I absolutely detest Final Fantasy, for obvious reasons.

Nor do I really care about keeping up with the news about the new upcoming games. I'll probably still buy the new games as they come out but I'm not counting down the days or anything.

I'm much the same.

Back a few years ago I would have been reading every new piece of news that came out about the games, but these days not so much.

I do get excited when a new game is announced but not so much that I sit on the internet deciding which version I'm going to buy. The one that has the t-shirt, soundtrack etc etc, doesn't really interest me.

I just wait for it to come out in store and buy the game on it's own. I may even wait for it to come down in price as well, seeing as I'm not that desperate to play them as I once was. :sad3:

I still like/enjoy them, but not as obsessively as I once did. :wacky:

I have my favourites, ie: FFX which I will always love though. :ryan:

Not as much as I used to I suppose, I absolutely adored the games in the past. They are what really got me in to gaming I suppose.

I got X first and started it again and again, because I always read something that made me want to start from the beginning again. For example, when I found out that the chocobo eater was actually beatable.

I played a few others as well, picked up XII when it came out and actually really liked it. Despite vaan, it was a pretty great game I thought. Over the years my interest has waned though. Then again last year. I got another copy of X, and loved it all over again, even more so than the first time. XIII was very disappointing, but I am really looking forward to Versus

If I don't love versus I guess I am done with the series, but I think it'll be the catalyst that reignites my love for the series

Agreed. That's very much how I feel about the FF series right now. I doubt that I'll ever become excited over and anxious to get a future FF title.

I still love the old games, especially IX and VI. Quite honestly, I think the games they've been pumping out have fallen quite far from the FF roots. I can't really immerse myself into them or the characters. I will love FF9 until the day I die (And I'll probably have Freya & Fratley statuettes in my coffin =P), but unless they start coming out with games that have more put into the characters and storyline instead of hyping the graphics and trying out everything under the sun that may or may not work, I might not take up much interest in the newer games. I'll rent them first before I decide if I want to buy them or not.

I don't think i am so into it any more. I love FF9, it will always be on of my favourite games but I really do not give a shit about any of the others. I tried to give FFX another go not that that long ago and was bored shitless. I think I've just grown out of them.

I don't have time or motivation for RPGs any more, yet I keep buying them :wacky: I will buy FFXII-2 because I am a douchebag who does not learn, who knows, I might get into it, I'll trade it in later if I don't.

Not as much as I used to...

I was kicked out of Gamefaqs over FFXII.Because I pointed out what I believed were lot of its flaws and that didn't sit well with the fans there at the time.

Of course now everybody pretty much acknowledges its flaws, even the people who like it.
But I came away from that with a bitter taste in my mouth.

So my feelings about the games have waned.

I did play FFVII recently and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Still not the same intensity and dedication I once had.

I felt FFXIII lacked something and although I intend to buy -2, I don't feel that excited about it.More like a duty I have to perform.Sort of like keeping up with the Joneses, aka the genre and other FF players than a task I truly enjoy anymore.:megusta2:

Not really.
I haven't like a Finaru Fantariji game since FFX. That's the only Finaru Fantariji game that I'm looking forward to. FFXII was dull, Dissidia is really quite dreadful, FFXIII is very mediocre, I haven't even finished it I was so bored. I like the PS Finaru Fantariji games, but every time I play them I find them less enjoyable, it becomes more about nostalgia than about the games themselves.
