Doctor Who

And on a side note, even the Silence call Rory the one who keeps dying XD

that tickled me xD

Also, he should of known he wasnt ready to bow out yet, he hasnt given River the sonic screw driver to send her off to the library with yet as far as im aware

I cant say i was all that over whelmed with the episode really, didnt see it coming either, but in hindsight, yeah makes sense....

It confused the shit out of me mind

I did really like the episode. It was interesting seeing how the world would look if all of history happened at the same time, and it was great to see Winston Churchhill as the Holy Roman Emperor living in a Britain where cars are held by balloons, steam trains are everywhere and pterodactyls replace the common pigeon.

I didn't guess for the entire series about how
The Doctor would avoid death, but I guessed when I saw the numbskull robot
that it would be that.

Dorium's words to the Doctor were quite powerful too. My friend and I also guessed that a little earlier today, but it was quite good still to hear it in context at the end.

I quite liked it. It leaves more for series 7 next Autumn, which is something to look forward to. Made me laugh when the Silence called Rory the one who'd keep dying :lew: And right at the end, it made the question extremely obvious :gasp: Haunting him all his life, like as in the life of the show when it first aired in 1963. Overall a good episode and I hope the Christmas special is good

i felt about as underwhelmed as i did with the ending of lost. it was a decent episode, but not a season ending one. i think they should have used it much earlier because it just didn't have the power that it needed.

it's a bold move by moffat to set up the death of the doctor already. it'll be interesting to see where that is taken.

The episode was quite good. It dragged on a bit at the beginning, but better than most this series. It was a nice twist how
the Doctor didn't die, but it was the robot instead.
I do wonder where they're going to take him next now that's over and done with. There's the Christmas special next, and perhaps it's quite good that the series was split into two. Since now we don't have too long to wait!

series 7 isn't due to start until the autumn, so we actually have longer to wait than usual.

also, there are rumours going around that john barrowman may be returning as captain jack at some point. there was apparently a news clip in the background when all of history was happening at once that mentions something about a man in new york who can never die.

I hadn't noticed that, but I need more than that to believe that he is coming back. The Doctor has referred to Rose, Donna and Martha, and we have also seen Charles Dickens from Ecclestone's run as the Doctor. That said, perhaps we will see a return of Jack, but we could equally as likely only hear / see references. I think I heard that Moffat isn't a fan of Jack Harkness, or a lot of Russell The Davies' characters.

While Moffat and co are avoiding a lot of what Russell The Davies did, there are still references to these things from time to time.

It's interesting that they refer to him being in New York, as that would be the more recent Torchwood season, but I suppose that it would be anyway. Torchwood is part of the canon of Doctor Who, and Moffat can't ignore it completely. Captain Jack is quite a big part of the Doctor Who universe now, so maybe he could return.

Moffat after reading that article:

I like this part:

While we’re on this, why use River to kill the Doctor in the first place?

Well, there's a reason River is in jail for killing someone :monster:

that was a really good point that's a pretty big gaping hole in it all. why not just get a load of silence to do him instead of coming up with a huge convoluted plan that could quite easily fail?

it was a pretty decent review of the final episode too, because it points out that there are no stakes at all in the episode and there's never any real danger to anyone.

I liked it as well, but I like many more episodes over it. Some people tend to over analyze things and that removes the joy in watching your favorite TV show :hmmm: I say sit back, relax, and watch the show. If it doesn't make sense, then move on and hope the next series explains it better. Which it may or may not. And hey, maybe RTD will write a story for it :monster: But probably not.

I've been listening to them for a few months now. They're pretty good :lew: That's one of my favorite songs by them :wacky: I just don't like how much they've centered around Eleven in their full album.

I thought the Doctor Who Experience ended. Perhaps it is still going on or has opened up again.

I went to it in London in June / July (can't remember). It's basically a large exhibition space full of Doctor Who costumes, models and lots of information and cool stuff. There's also the 'experience' itself which is a walk-through ride type thing (for lack of a better explanation). You basically pretend that you are travelling in the Tardis. Matt Smith talks you through it on a screen. That part is mainly for kids, but the exhibition is quite good.

When I went in London the exhibition included the original set of Ecclestone and Tennant's Tardis, partially destroyed due to Tennant's finale. They also had costumes from all of the Doctor incarnations, multiple designs of key monsters and villains over the ages... They also had the Pandorica from Matt Smith's first season... Which I sat in...

It was pretty good. If the Doctor Who Experience thing you mention is the one in London, it is good to visit. I managed to get in because I had a friend who was going and pretty much ordered cheaper tickets online. I think a ticket would cost about £10 otherwise though. I'm not sure.
