Anime Dragonball/Z/GT Thread

You liked GT? It was a load of garbage, the whole Super Saiyan 4 thing was stupid, and they retconned the Saiyans history by introducing that other species -__-

the GT saga's were like really bad and drawn out. the super 1 saga was the worst how they opened the gates of hell to bring back the Android 17 that Cell turned into breakfast. oh and they ruined the Saiyan's history with the babi Saga, that strange race lol

I always thought the whole GT thing was convoluted especially the whole Dragon Ball containing evil Shenron thing.

GT moved so damn fast. They cram half a dozen sagas into like...40 episodes. Maybe I'm used to Dragonball Z and the long sagas. The battle against Frieza goes on for what? 30 episodes? haha

Anywho...

Didn't care much for all that Super Saiyan 4 crap (they still fuse, of course).

Didn't care much for how ridiculous some of the episodes became. I'm not looking for realism when I watch Dragonball GT, but the dragonball protruding from Goku's head was a bit...lame. That's just a single example.

Didn't care much for Dragonball GT period, I guess.

Thats pritty awesum, i love the idea on how all of the universes have been brought together to create one huge tournament.

Man how much do I like DBZ. I used to always watch this when I was little kid. Trunks is my favorite character cause he's a beast and he looks tight. I wish that they would make some new episodes and all but it's alright.

Just looked at it again and it seems to be getting pages added to it, its getting really cool ATM and is looking like Goku will win the tournament as he always does in his Universe, such a shame as Vegeta is my favorite character and he has never won anything.

I'm not a fan of GT, but the Tuffles story line with Baby did not change anything about the Saiyan's history.

King Kai in DBZ explains all this during the Saiyan Saga while Goku is training with him. Planet Vegeta was populated by the Saiyans and Tuffles, the Tuffles having great technology (which is where the Saiyans got their scouters) and war broke out between the two, the Tuffles were wiped out when a full moon took place during the battle.

The Saiyans then became rulers of the planet. Then the Saiyans made a deal with people from another planet (which inturn lead to Frieza being their boss) in which the Saiyans were giving space travel pods, in exchange for the Saiyans taking over planets so they could be sold.

Then ofcourse Frieza wipes them out, bar Goku, Vegeta, Raditz, Nappa, Broly, Paragus and Turles.

There is actually a DBZ movie special involving a Tuffle aswell. "The Plan to Destroy the Saiya-jins" there's no English dub of it though, it's all in Japanese with English sub titles.

So in turn, they changed nothing of the Saiyan's history in GT by introducing Baby.

GT was ok, but if you think about it, it doesn't really have anything to with the rest of the DB/Z theme. The only thing that it really had anything to with them was the finding of the dragonballs. But other then that GT was cool.

I think with GT they tried mixing DB and DBZ together. Like DB Goku's travelling the World searching for the Dragonballs, running into trouble on the way. DBZ took a more serious theme, and even though the dragonballs were still used in the storylines, the fights were the main thing.

So then with GT, turning Goku back into a kid, and having him searching across space searching for the dragonballs, while having the added trouble of Earth being under threat by Baby, 17 and then the Dragons, it seemed the two concepts were pushed together. Not a bad idea, but it didn't work lol.

I recently just got back to watching this with my daughter. Started with Dragonball Z and now in episode 20. I used to love this show back in high school, but I never reached the GT series. I think the last time I saw DBZ was when Uub was introduced and I think that was towards the end of the series...? I remember that when he first showed up, the whole series repeated again so I lost interest.

But now I wanna see the whole thing all over again, including GT. As always, it really grabs my attention. And the cool thing now is that I am able to fast-forward the parts where they charge up for a loooonnnngggg time.

Been watching it again myself, currently going through the Freiza saga, nearly finished with that.

Uub was introduced right at the end of Z in the World Tournament after the Kid Buu saga. So you practically saw the ending of Z. :p

i finished watching ALL db/z/gt not to long ago actually took about 5 days or no-life'in it.
You should watch the remake of the GT series. They took out or changed all the episodes that where kinda slow and made it really fact paced and intense.

Speaking of "remakes" you should check out Dragonball Kai aswell Mitsuki. It's DBZ, just redone. The episodes are basically the same, just the quality has been improved and they've said something about removing the filler episodes. Don't think it has an English dub yet, though they do have sub-titles.

I keep hearing in Youtube comments about how Kid Buu was weaker than the Evil Buu? Is Super Buu really more powerful than Kid Buu or is it the other way around?
