Yeah that's what I like about the DS, since I would still be able to play my GBA games on it, and you are right, I haven't seen many commercials for PSP games anymore
 
It still doesn't take away from that it's a cool system am I right. Although I will agree with the fact that it just seems like an overly large Ipod that can play games. I just like it for the Internet access. And well The PSP has titles I'm more interested in. But I will be getting a DS for Poke'mon and It's a Wonderful World.
 
i prefer the psp. i got one a while ago and its great to take on holiday because you can play some pritty good games on it, nut then again you coluld say that for the DS there should b a no-preferances box
 
Ds is great even the graphics ar not so good as the psp and no mp3 or movies its still fun and its very brave from Nintendo do dare something els and smart to make it for every one young and old
 
I think just because of sheer price, and a better game selection, that the DS should easily be the victor.
 
I thought it was only down to $200? Hmm, I suppose not. Even so though, the DS still has the better selection of games, and games make the console...or in this case, "handheld".
 
The DS is an innovation, and is pretty unqiue for a games handeld. But the PSP is multi media games handheld and you can do alot more with a PSP than you can with a DS.

Who can say they can play Final Fantasy 7-9, as well as the FF anthology, Vagrant Story etc.. on a DS?? You can with a PSP.
 
I prefer the DS. It is treated like it's own console rather than just a portable version of Nintendo's home console. That is what the PSP feels like, just a portable version of the PS2. You can play some PS games on it and some of the PSP games end up on the PS2 where as the DS is very exclusive. PSP can do a lot more but I play the DS to play games, not to listen to music or watch movies. I would rather used other things that focus on those issues but with a handheld I want something that plays games.


To the thread question which is "Which console will win the handheld war: the Nintendo DS or the Sony PSP?" and I think there is no question that the DS is dominating this market. It has been dominating the home consoles aswell.
 
The DS, definately.
More games, together with a wider audience and the touch screen just make it so.
PSP titles are mainly ports, where as alot of games for the DS are original, or utilize the touch screen in some way.

I've been really happy with my DS ever since I bought it, and don't regret going for a DS instead of a PSP at all.
Lets face it :
Nintendo > Sony.
 
Nintendo could be on it's way back on top. With the Wii doing well and the DS doing exceptionally well, it looks like they're back. :)
 
DS fo shure. It's lots of fresh new games, instead of old PS2 ripoffs that appear on the PSP. Ok, not all the PSP games are like that, but to me, the DS come across as being more friendly to a wider audience, enticing them with games like Nintendogs, aimed primarily at younger children, brain training games for older people for example.
 
I own both. As a games system DS is far superior.

But PSP is a better system overall. You can do more, watch UMD's personal movies..online play is far better and you can hack into it and play PS1, gba,snes,megadrive games with ease. Downside is price. The official games library has it's quality titles but not enough. DS is a better portable also because PSP is larger and has a bigger screen...subject to more damage.

PSP has also the worst analogue stick ever created. It hinders nearly ALL 3D games which is such a shame. It had potential but the design is flawed and the marketing from sony has been rubbish.
 
Hm lets see DS or PSP I own both of them and I like them both but I will have to go with PSP because even though DS has some really cool games and there fun(Of course).Then Theres the PSP that I use most of the time to play music or watch a few vids.So I will have to go with my good friend PSP.
 
DS of course! The games on the DS are fantastic. I love Phoenix Wright! :D The DS also has....Pokemon, Jump Ultimate stars, Trauma center and a few others. DS also has Puzzle quest so...no PSP, i'm happy with Puzzle quest on the DS.

The PSP is just a small laptop to me. I have a laptop and I like to see movies on a larger screen. So what if it can go online? Also the games suck. The only PSP game i'm looking forward to is Crisis Core. I heard Katamari was terrible for the PSP. Pfft! I'm not paying for expensive games.
 
Sony gives its stuff too much power...
Nintendo has it right in geting just the right hardware. Sure, the DS doesn't have as pretty graphics... but it's much cheaper for it, and Nintendo realizes that most people aren't going to pay that much more for better graphics.

Nintendo is a great company, and they really know what they are doing. The only reason that I would ever get a Sony gaming system would be for FF... not anything that Sony has done.

Unfortunately, Nintendo has always been late in the transfer from cartridges to CDs... and CDs are necessary for long games like FF.

Oh wow, I got off-topic again.

In my opinion, it goes like this:
Nintendo > Capcom > SE > Sony > Sega > Namco > SNK > Microsoft > EA > Whoever the hell made that god awful Superman 64 game.

Also, DS for the win.
