*Eureka Academy:Second Semester*

OOC: Just so people know, Portal is one of Escaflowne's abilities. Seems like people were unaware, so just to let you guys know.

Delijah Fei

“Ms. Fei… this is the Skydiving mission… right?”

Hm? No, why do you .... oh.....

Delijah was slightly confused by Alyss' question until she realised the significance of why she asked it. Alyss had signed up for the wrong mission. Her nervousness was made the more obvious that she suddenly clammed up and, to Delijah at least, her skin tone seemed to have gone a few sheades lighter. This was probably a worst case scenario for Alyss, considering that Alyss seemed to lack self confidence and is shy to a fault to boot. Delijah felt herself face palm internally in her mind, but perhaps, this would be a good confidence booster to Alyss? If she performs well, maybe she wouldn't be so timid? Pumping out her chest, Delijah put on her confidence game face and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

Don't worry. Raistlin and I are here. The Blacak Sect over there seems quite capable as well, so i'm sure you'll blitz this mission with us.

Delijah had a huge grin plastered across her face, taking her hand off Alyss and followed her to give her phone to Raistlin.

Here you go Raistlin... sir. Don't go and hock it off.

Despite moving to the Student Council, Delijah still retained a high degree of respect for her ex leader, but she couldn't help a friendly jab with a joke. With the Headmaster arriving, that meant that the mission was about to start. She had to lose a bit of tension, or she would freeze up later on from being to tense.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Escaflowne Zraith
“Don’t worry about the name, dear. Men and Elves far greater than myself have stumbled over it. I take it both of you will be joining me on the mission today?”
Escaflowne stuck out her tongue in embarressment.
Ahaha hehehe.... whoops. Sorry.
"We will be participating on this mission, Mr. Anwamane."
Ah yea. I'm kind of pumped for this. I've always loved riding my bikes when i was on the ground, so a legal speeding in the air must be a blast.
Truthfully, with her latest change in personality, Escaflowne was more self indulging and less spartan than when she first enrolled. She herself would admit that her initial personaility would have made her a great Disciplinary Committee member, but then, she would be conforming straight to what her parents want. That, she did not like.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what are your names?”
"Oh, I'm sorry if I did not introduce myself. My name is Elaine Chevalier. It's a pleasure to meet you in person."
Ah. I am Escaflowne Zraith. Its a pleasure to meet you too. Actually, i think i enrolled in one of your classes Mr Anwamane.
Now that she had managed to say it the first time, her mind has figured out how to say the teacher's name properly, so there was no more stumbling for her.
In any case.... where are the others? I mean, its Athena and... Mr Hoffman and Stella. I'd thought they'd be on time..... On second thought... maybe not stella.
In her mind, Escaflowne could see a comical Stella rushing around flustered from all the things she had to do and that it probably wouldn't be a stretch that she be the last one to arrive and out of breath,
[OOC: Waiting for Raye to post until I post with Raistlin or Alyss again.]
Ecthelion Anwamane
“Well then, Elaine and Escaflowne, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said, putting his arm back at his side. “And it’s nice to know you’ll be in my class. I’m sure you’ll find it…” there was a slight ominous pause before he continued. “Enlightening.” Escaflowne mentioned that a few others were supposed to be joining them today, but they had not yet arrived. Hopefully they would show up soon, as Ecthelion didn’t really enjoy tardiness. “Well, I suppose there isn’t much we can do in the meantime. Though, I am glad to see some youthful determination along for the ride… it should be rather fun.”
Ecthelion then turned around to a bench behind him and sat down.
[James]
The sound of the book clapping shut rang through the empty library. James sat in one of the comfy armchairs in the front room, gingerly holding the book between two fingers as though it were some sort of disgusting worm. A scowl crossed his face as he realized he had just spent about 3 hours reading this book. And what did he have for it? Nothing but lost time.
Despite how much he enjoyed books, this one was... spitting in the eye of every novel that had come before it. And people had the gall to say that this was literature; the mere thought of people thinking that almost made James a bit sick to his stomach. Thankfully, this world had progressed since then but that was no small feat given this.... fishwrap? Yes, that sounded right if not very much so outdated.
The novel he held in his hand would have to be hidden, kept locked away deep in the bowels of the library only ever to be given upon request and of course, how would they know it even existed here? Slowly, he got up, the morning sun streaming through the windows and making his now greasy hair shine somewhat. Stretching he run a hand through it to push the fallen strands back in place.
He was assisting that airship mission today; there was little better to do right now. But first, he really needed a shower; that greasy feeling in his hair was annoying. Or he would've taken one, had it not been for him seeing the clock above the front desk. The mission would be starting in...3 minutes. Great.
He sighed before walking over to the front desk, no hurry even present in his movement. He slid the book into one of the drawers of the desk and locked it there before exiting the library. A single ray of light shone through the slot between desk and drawer, alighting on the title of the book. In silvery letters was the word 'Twilight'.
His path to the mission boards was a slow uneventful walk, his hands shoved his pockets, his arms rumpling his shirt even more. The horrendous book soon to be taken care of, there was a small smile as he came ever closer to the mass of students preparing for their missions. From what he had understood, there were five others as part of the group, one of them being a teacher at the academy.
He knew he was late, and he didn't care. People spent their lives rushing from one thing to the next, the threat of death always overhanging them. James didn't have that threat, having all of time itself to him. That was no reason to be stagnant thought.
Looking around he recognized the teacher registered for the mission, one Ecthelion Anwamane, sitting on a nearby bench obviously a touch perturbed over his tardiness. He would simply have to deal. By the looks of it though, the rest of their group was still absent so James was still doing better.
"So Anwamane," he began, his lips flowing over the name easily. "Where is the rest of our little group?"
(OOC: Everyone, Stella was already in the Great Hall talking to the headmaster XD So I guess you could say she's on time for once :P)
Stella had finally seen her group all standing together, with the exception of Athena. The girl wondered if she would have time to snag something else from the Cafe but decided against it. "Well hey everyone!" she perked up waving her arms to the group from a small ways away. "I think we should get started racing although I don't see Athena."
Stella's surprise of her teammates had surely made her rethink her tactics. She was going to be racing against two teachers, two other student council students and a Discom member. "I checked out around front. There's an airship ready to take us to the race." Stella informed them. "Ehehe I'm so excited! But be aware that the racers like to fight dirty."
As she said this the noise of propellers had begun to hum from outside. "That sounds like us! Are you guys ready for transport? Athena will have to stay isf she doesn't come soon..."
------------------------------------------------------------------
Akabea walked out into the drizzling rain. The weather felt a little cool and the fog wasn't as overbearing as he had anticipated. "Hurry back there." he commanded as he reached the island's edge.
He peered down at a small circle, just barely visible through the fog. "Now listen good as I will not repeat myself." his voice rang. " Once we pass through the portal it's important for everyone to take in a good amount of air as we will end up underwater. If I can recall there will be a dome-like city directly below. Once you reach it, you will once again be able to breath, but it is important to note that you will still be underwater."
It was at this time that an airship had flown upon the island, parking itself somewhere nearby. It was not too big and stood only two stories high. Turning to face the Atlantis team Akabea had raised his volum to speak over the airship. "I suggest you do not break your concentration or else you will drown, or end your life in a gruesome manner. I must warn you there will be a giant ten story Kraken destroying this underwater city along with various minions including sharks, Grindy-lows and rogue Nereids. It's all just childs play really. I look forward to observing this mission for myself." Akabea spoke as he took a step backwards and leaned back off of the side cliff of Eureka island.
The rain seemed to be rushing upwards as he was falling faster and faster with each second. Finally the giant portal was just within reach and he took a giant gulp of air before disappearing completely as he passed through.
Ecthelion Anwamane
Another student, Stella, seemed somewhat excited to begin the mission. Though she also pointed out the fact that another student was missing, she held a good point. The airship was now here, and it was getting ready to be time to leave… Stella had also mentioned that the other racers were willing to race dirty. Little did anyone there know, he was also more than willing to play dirty. “Well, as we all know, this isn’t much of a race between us all, as much as it is a race against everyone else that we’re against.”
Standing up, he began walking over to the airship. “That being said, don’t push yourself too hard trying to outrun everyone… just make sure you outrun all of them. I, for one, will be trying my best to ensure the victory of one of us.” Still walking, he laughed somewhat. “Therefore, do not be surprised if I do not finish the race on account of taking as many of our enemies out as I can. They should not get a chance to win… Though, don’t worry much about me, I’ll be fine, and in case I crash into the ocean… I’ll be back before you know it.”
OOC: Remember Ringo, Delijah waiting on Alyss and Raistlin
Escaflowne Zraith
"So Anwamane, where is the rest of our little group?"
We're here.
In quick successions, the rest of the group quickly gather with Stella popping up pretty much immediately after James. With only Athena missing, it appeared that the group may leave without her. The race, however, now seemed real interesting. To her surprise, a fair amount of rather powerful people signed up for the mission, but power did not mean everything. In fact, Escaflowne marked Eliane as one of the primary threat due to her exposure to aircrafts. The teacher's ability to handle a craft was unknown though.
"I checked out around front. There's an airship ready to take us to the race. Ehehe I'm so excited! But be aware that the racers like to fight dirty."
A dirty fight eh? Well, i think i might have something up my sleeve for that...
“Well, as we all know, this isn’t much of a race between us all, as much as it is a race against everyone else that we’re against.”
Aw.... Still. Plenty of targets regardless.
Aero magic seems quite handy in this situation. A plethora of ideas, plan and counter attacks filled Escaflowne's mind and how she might execute it against her opponents. Her diabolical thoughts were rudely interrupted by the loud hum of the airship engines.
"That sounds like us! Are you guys ready for transport? Athena will have to stay isf she doesn't come soon..."
“That being said, don’t push yourself too hard trying to outrun everyone… just make sure you outrun all of them. I, for one, will be trying my best to ensure the victory of one of us. Therefore, do not be surprised if I do not finish the race on account of taking as many of our enemies out as I can. They should not get a chance to win… Though, don’t worry much about me, I’ll be fine, and in case I crash into the ocean… I’ll be back before you know it.”
I see your point sir. If we are teaming up, then i suggest the two most proficient flyers to race to win while a few hang around behind them to block off the others and take them out.
Things were getting tactical now. Before, Escaflowne was willing to just race and try to win, but if that was going to compromise the mission, then Escaflowne was willing to hang back and be a shield for her team mates.
{OOC2 : Also got permission from Ringo to god-mod Alyss into . . . you'll see it when you see it . :wacky: }
Rose had smirked once Alyss realized that it was her that called her name out. She did another small wave as she approached, but even if Alyss did look happy to see her, she still seemed somewhat confused about . . . something. "Quel amrun...oh, I mean good morning. Sorry, I still let that slip from time to time." Rose could only guess that it must have been part of her native language, and she chuckled slightly as she corrected herself. "I take it you signed up for Skydiving too?"
Rose felt her smile shift into a confused look. For a brief minute, she turned around to look at the sign behind the group she was with, and it clearly read Trouble in Paradise on the top, with a list of participants on it. She brought her index finger to her lips as she turned back around to face Alyss. "Umm, I think you might be . . .-" She was going to say that the group where Skydiving met were probably meeting in a different spot of the Great Hall, but someone else was seen standing next to her from the corner of her eye. Glancing over, completely distracted from what she was going to say, she saw . . . a little girl?
"I do not believe we have met before. Delijah Fei."Actually, from the way she sounded, she wasn't as little as she appeared. But Rose was at least glad she could meet another new face. The girl, Delijah she introduced herself as, brought a hand out towards her, and Rose grinned and brought out her own to shake it with a greeting.
"I don't recall us meeting, but it's nice to meet you, Delijah." She said with a grin. Once the handshake was done, she could hear Alyss speaking again, and she sounded more uneasy than she did before. "Ms. Fei . . . this is the Skydiving mission . . .right?"
"Hm? No. Why do you . . . oh . . . " Delijah replied somewhat. Rose herself wasn't exactly sure what the problem was, unless Alyss signed up for the wrong mission. That would explain why she was asking about the Skydiving mission often. Glancing over at Delijah, she suddenly noticed something that she wasn't aware of when she had first seen her. She was wearing a yellow blazer, and that could have only meant that she was part of the Disciplinary Committee. Glancing back over at Alyss, she also remembered that she said she had dinner with the whole DisCom group. Seeing Delijah was part of it now, she couldn't be too sure on how tough she was going to act in contrast with her size. It cancelled out the safety of making any friendly midget jokes.
"Glad to see you three on the mission." Another, much more deeper, voice suddenly came in. It interrupted Rose's train of thought, but she looked behind her to see a tall man in a dark robe - which covered her way of seeing if he was wearing a blazer or not. Nearly at the same time she looked over at him, his attention went down at her as well. "I'm Raistlin Majere, nice to meet you."
"Great to see you." Rose replied, and a smile twitched on the side of her mouth. A lot of the people in this group looked like they meant all seriousness, but her assumptions could have been wrong. After all, she only just met them, so there wasn't really a lot of time to sit down and have a heart to heart chat with any of them. Her attention being brought back to the two other girls, she figured she had caught Delijah speaking mid conversation.
"Don't worry. Raistlin and I are here. The Black Sect over there seems quite capable as well, so I'm sure you'll blitz this mission with us." Looking around herself, she could only see one other Black Sect student, and that was a guy that looked around her age with long blue hair tied in a ponytail. He was standing by himself, but he was observing the crowd that Rose was standing with. It felt a little odd to her. Another pair of footsteps was heard echoing through the hall, and all of the conversations being held had suddenly went somewhat silent, only a few whispers being heard. Turning towards the center of the hall, she saw that it was the Headmaster that was starting to speak, and he didn't look any different than he had when Rose first saw him.
He said something about having to leave any electronic devices on school grounds while the students were going on their missions. She doubted that her cellphone would work underwater anyhow. "If anyone needs a place to put their phones, just hand them to me. I'll have them stored safely at my home." His home? Doesn't he mean his dorm? Rose thought to herself as she took her cellphone out of her skirt pocket. She followed as Alyss and then Delijah walked up to Raistlin to hand their phones over to him. She did the same thing, assured that it would be safe until she got back. The headmaster had announced that they were heading out now, and the large groups of students had began to follow, as did she, and she noticed that Alyss looked absolutely terrified. Taking a hold of the long sleeve of her kimono, Rose bent her head down slightly so that she could whisper over to Alyss.
"Hey, look on the bright side. We both get to go see a city that's underwater. I've never actually been under the ocean before, and it sounds really exciting, don't you think?" She said, grinning. As they made their way outside, Rose saw that it had started to rain, but as they walked across the courtyard, she felt that it was only a drizzle, so it was nothing to be down about . . . yet.
"Hurry back there." Akabea had shouted from up front. Well, he certainly didn't like to waste any time. After several more moments the group had finally reached the edge of the island, and Rose guessed that the portal was around here. "Now listen good as I will not repeat myself. Once we pass through the portal it's important for everyone to take in a good amount of air as we will end up underwater. If I can recall there will be a dome-like city directly below. Once you reach it, you will once again be able to breath, but it is important to note that you will still be underwater." Rose probably would have no problem holding her breath for several seconds. As the Headmaster kept on speaking, the rain had suddenly gotten harder. Considering that they were going to be underwater, Rose wasn't as concerned as she was before about getting too wet today. She knew she would have to freshen up once they returned.
"I suggest you do not break your concentration or else you will drown, or end your life in a gruesome manner. I must warn you there will be a giant ten story Kraken destroying this underwater city along with various minions including sharks, Grindy-lows and rogue Nereids. It's all just child's play really. I look forward to observing this mission for myself." And with that, he had taken a step backwards, and fell off the edge of the island. They would be falling into the portal? This mission would be more of an adrenaline rush than she thought. But, she could only wonder how Alyss would react to all of this. Stepping to the edge of the island, Rose looked down to see there was a big portal just beneath them, and the headmaster had already fell into it. So they would have to act quickly.
Seeing that some people in the group were already leaping off the edge, as rude as it sounded, Rose wasn't going to wait for any kind of panic attack Alyss might have at the moment. Glancing over at the elf, she had kept her grip on her sleeve tight as she suddenly nudged her from behind with an elbow to bring her forward, but not enough to actually harm her. Once the top half of her body was unable to balance itself back over the island, Rose made a leap for it. "We're having crawfish, tonight!"
[OOC: Poor, poor, poor, Alyss. :sad3:]
Alyss Mithrandir
It was really nice that everyone was trying to make her feel better, it really was. But it did very little to actually help. For the most part, Alyss was still panicking, even though she wasn’t showing it. On the outside, one could very easily see she was scared, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. On the inside, she was downright devastated. All she could think about was the thousands of ways she could possibly die. She could drown, be crushed, freeze to death of hypothermia if the water was cold enough, the water pressure may be too much for her tiny frame to take, the natives living down there could be evil people that would want to eat her…
Her thoughts were interrupted suddenly when someone grabbed hold of her kimono sleeve. Looking up from the ground, she noticed that it was Rose, who also was attempting to comfort her. “Hey, look on the bright side. We both get to go see a city that’s underwater. I’ve never actually been under the ocean before, and it sounds really exciting, don’t you think?” Rose had a good point… but Alyss found a way to twist that around in her head as well.
Yes… it will be exciting to see right before I get killed, Alyss thought. She simply couldn’t help herself… she was far too afraid for her own good. And the Headmasters words certainly didn’t help at all. He mentioned a Kraken, sharks, Grindy-lows, and Nereids, and drowning… and to top it all off, he said it with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain. He then jumped off the island like it was no problem at all. Alyss shrinked away, thinking of any way out of this… but she knew that if she ran, she would only get herself in serious trouble.
Everyone else was jumping or getting ready to jump, and her legs wouldn’t move at all. The rain was hitting her face as she simply stood there, with Rose still holding her sleeve. It was then that an elbow hit her lightly on the back. Alyss’ eyes widened with terror… They widened even more when she realized that it was Rose that had done it. Why had Rose done something like that? Did she not trust Alyss enough to jump by herself?
Of course, that was a silly question. Not even Alyss trusted Alyss enough to jump by herself. She tried to get balance, but it was no use, she was about to fall. And to hit the nail on the head, Rose still had hold of her sleeve as she jumped, effectively ensuring that Alyss would fall. While Rose mentioned something about crawfish, Alyss couldn’t help but think over and over in her head that she was going to die.
Raistlin Majere
Once he had taken everyone’s phones, he paid none of them any real mind. He had to keep his mind sharp and focused. Therefore, the last thing that he needed was to pay attention to any of them as they did… whatever it was that normal people did before the start of a mission. For all he knew, normal people didn’t go on missions… which really sounded dull. The Headmaster gave out a few of the things they would be facing, which served only to make Raistlin even more excited.
And as soon as The Headmaster jumped, Raistlin was right behind him. Holding his breath, he got prepared to hit the portal. He really hoped that the Homunculus worked the way it was supposed to… or else they wouldn’t have a school to come back to, and Raistlin would probably be dead. Either way, exciting times were ahead.
Athena took the apple with a smile. "Why thank you, Professor." She placed the apple on the table, to eat when the first was done.
"Oh I'm sure you didn't poison it, sir." She finished off the first apple. "We're trained to recognize these kinds of things, after all."
As her fellow Disciplinary Committee member entered the cafeteria, she nodded to her. "Good morning, Briller, Yes, I slept well thank you."
The announcement boomed over the school, demanding the attention of all those who had signed up for missions. "I have, as a matter of fact," she said in response to Estrella's musings. "If you'll excuse me Professor, Briller." With that, she grabbed the second apple with a parting smile to the man who had given it to her.
"My apologies," Athena said as she entered the Hall. "I was delayed."
Orion had begun to change his breathing as they started walking. He breathed slowly, with deep breaths, getting slower and deeper as they walked, yet maintaining enough inconsistency to remain fully alert. As they neared, his breaths became even deeper, in preparation for how much he would need. When practiced like this, Orion could hold his breath for up to 3 minutes, though he hopefully wouldn't need that much. He would take in enough air to do so, just in case. The longest amount of time was when he blew up the Diaga ship, and had to hold his breath as he swam from under the lead tub and back to the surface. That took a minute and a half.
They approached the edge of the island, and Akabea then warned them about the giant kraken and various minions attacking the city that they would have to swim for to breathe. With everyone here being over blue sect, it would be child's play, once they had air. If not... well, more fun. Akabea leaned off the edge, but Orion decided to do something a touch bit more flashy for the heck of it.
He ran for the edge, spun, waved at who hadn't jumped off yet, and back-flipped, spinning again so he was facing the portal as he fell. His katana were now in his hands, in preparation of anything jumping them as soon as they hit, and he continued his deep breath routine as they fell. Right before they hit, he took in the deepest breath so far and then hit the portal, one thought in his mind.
Heh. Crawfish. More like giant squid-seaweed soup.
[James]
The suggestion of the other racers playing dirty amused James. Of course they would; everyone wanted to win and it seemed that nobody had any sense of fair play. Not that James had any. His goal here was for someone from EA to win. It didn't have to be him, just had to be one from EA. That being said, he could just as easily hand back and harass the other racers. However, one thing bothered him.
"We're assuming that we each get an airship to race with. Most airships aren't run by a single person. It could be that the six of us will be on a single airship racing against everyone else. In that case, the strategy of people hanging back becomes useless. And to be frank, I think that this is the more likely case; I doubt the Academy is willing to put up the funds for six different airships and their crews."
He crossed his arms and tapped his fingers against the surfaces as the hum of their transport airship arrived.
OOC: Short post, don't have time...sorry. :sad3:
"We're assuming that we each get an airship to race with. Most airships aren't run by a single person. It could be that the six of us will be on a single airship racing against everyone else. In that case, the strategy of people hanging back becomes useless. And to be frank, I think that this is the more likely case; I doubt the Academy is willing to put up the funds for six different airships and their crews."
"Not necessarily" Elaine said, looking at James. "I doubt each of us will be getting an airship each, after all, you are right in that we lack the funds for 6 airships, we could barely afford the one we have."
Elaine looked at Athena who arrived just in time to board the ship. "But this is our mission, and we'll have to do what we can to achieve our mission objective. If they play dirty, then we'll have to even the playing field that's all."
Getting on board the airship, they would hopefully be taken to the track to race against whoever they would be going up against.
"Sup Athena!" Stella smiled as the last of their crew had arrived on time.
Waving slightly Stella had begun to leave when the librarian had begun to put in his two cents. His very voice made Stella's spine tingle as she personally felt uneasy around librarians or anyone associated with a lot of reading. For some reason Stella just felt that these kinds of people were a tad creepy. "We're assuming that we each get an airship to race with. Most airships aren't run by a single person. It could be that the six of us will be on a single airship racing against everyone else. In that case, the strategy of people hanging back becomes useless. And to be frank, I think that this is the more likely case; I doubt the Academy is willing to put up the funds for six different airships and their crews."
He raised a good point however the Student council leader had to respond to make sure things were clear. "I heard you could race in teams as it's an advantage but Cid's allowed us to borrow some of his ships. They're pretty small from what I've heard though." Stella said thoughtfuly trying to remember the mission request form she and Akabea had looked at days earlier. "I think the ships used are of all kinds. I think Cid even mentioned flying bicicles using only balloons, helium and some thruster thingy."
Stella ventured out into the drizzling rain and boarded the airship, whos deck was thankfully sheilded by a blue tentlike covering. "I'm going to go to the lower deck and pick out the racer I'd like to use." Stella happily chimed as she disappeared through a doorway leading to the deck below. Once everyone was on board they would take off to where the race was being held.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What to do?" Pharra mumbled as she strolled through a dark corridor down the hall.
The morning seemed to be going very slow as some students were out on missions, others were in class. She had time off to do whatever she wanted at the moment. With a few minutes of walking Pharra spotted the same boy she had met the night before. She remembered his accent and where he was from but besides that she didn't know much else about him. "Hi." Pharra had spoken with a smile as she walked up to him.
She had felt much more awake now that she had a nice morning walk through the halls of the school. "So do you have anything to do at the moment?" Pharra asked.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akabea's eyes lit up once his face had hit the cool water on the other side of the portal. Falling through the portal was like falling through a doorway, only the other side of the doorway was filled with icy water and an underwater city. Akabea gazed down at the city below him and could see oddly shaped building and shimmering lights. The city containted large statues and it's buildings seemed to be on fire as large bursts of sand could be seen floating about. Akabea knew that it no doubt contained the sea monster the Academy students were supposed to dispose of.
As he floated down his body had passed through the orb surrounding the city, almost like passing through a bubble that would not pop. THe water temperature inside the city's dome was much warmer that the surrounding ewater and much more dangerous. Twisting his own body upright Akabea landed swiftly upon a sandy corridor between two Atlantian buildings. Letting in a breath of oxygen and not much else, he felt relieved as he could finally breathe again. "Where are they?" He gazed upwards.
Unknowingly Sharks of many kinds were rushing over to target him. A snap of his fingers left the angry fish flailing in pain from muscle decomposition. The Kraken was much larger than expected. It's destruction was massive and it's victims were many. Already bodies of dead merpeople had already littered the streets along with rubble. "This Kraken sure has been naughty." Akabea mumbled surveying their surroundings.
He would immediately give a small briefing once his students landed and then the clean up of this monster would be left up to them.
[OOC: Seeing as how Ecthelion is already on the airship, I’ll wait and make a post with him until everyone else gets one in. And seeing as how Alyss fell after Rose, I’ll post with her when Rose makes it down, as it makes sense that way. Also, short post; as not much has happened, actually.]
Raistlin Majere
Raistlin had a full breath of air when he hit the water on the other side of the portal. Opening his eyes, he immediately checked his surroundings. Besides being able to feel that the water was a little on the cold side, he looked around and saw exactly what the Headmaster had said they would see. A large dome like underwater city, a kraken in the distance, and from the looks of it, the Headmaster had already taken out a few sharks.
On the plus side, it seemed as if he wasn't dead. All signs pointed green on the "still alive" scale, so at the very least, he still had that. Swimming through the dome, Raistlin took a deep breath and stood upright on his feet. “Headmaster, looks like you’ve been having some fun.”
Getting his now wet hair out of his face, he smiled. Everything was going according to plan.
OOC: Do we decide on our own what she we take providing its not over powered?
Escaflowne Zraith
"We're assuming that we each get an airship to race with. Most airships aren't run by a single person. It could be that the six of us will be on a single airship racing against everyone else. In that case, the strategy of people hanging back becomes useless. And to be frank, I think that this is the more likely case; I doubt the Academy is willing to put up the funds for six different airships and their crews."
I heard you could race in teams as it's an advantage but Cid's allowed us to borrow some of his ships. They're pretty small from what I've heard though.I think the ships used are of all kinds. I think Cid even mentioned flying bicicles using only balloons, helium and some thruster thingy."
Phew. Had me worried there for a second. I was dying to go and fly in the race, but if they're small, single man vehicles, then it's just what i had in mind.
Had what James said been true, Escaflowne would have slammed her head against the wall and probably regret not having joined the Paradise mission. After all, she was in the mood to try something new and side lining or defending and attacking like a ship's cannon wasn't quite what she wanted from this mission. But with what Stella had said, they're getting lent aircrafts, so it was all good then.
"I'm going to go to the lower deck and pick out the racer I'd like to use."
Right, the sooner we take note of which craft we will have, the faster we can piece a strategy together.
Escaflowne scooted the distance from under cover and onto the ship's deck quickly, trying to avoid the rainfall before following Stella down to the lower deck hangar. She did want to have early dibs on the crafts available. A bit selfish, but Escaflowne was in an indulgent mood.
Delijah Fei
Delijah was more relieved, seeing that Rose was an associate of Alyss, and a relatively cloer one than herself at that. That meant that there was someone who would actively look out for the poor Red Sect. If it was as treacherous and dangerous as the Headmaster had said, then she herself was probably not going to have that much freedom in helping Alyss. She calmly watched her teammates take a leap of faith off the edge of the island, first the headmaster, then following Raistlin and Orion. Delijah cringed when she saw Rose nudge Alyss off the edge stealthily, tumbling the both off. Had any one probably balked at jumping, Delujah had a good mind to plant a shoe on their behnd and shoved, but seeing as her entire team was now over the edge, all that Delijah had to do was step off.
Here we go....
There was a split second of exhilirating freefall before Delijah was met with the rushing of water on her face. It was chilled, much to Delijah's dislike, but with a few powerful kicks, she guided herself through the bubble barrier and landed with a wet slap onto the ground next to Raistlin and the Headmaster. From the debris and parts around the area, it appeared that either one of the two decided to get started first.
Well, at least the place and view looks nice....
Delijah mused happily looking up through the bubble before back down at the remains.
Body parts and gore aside that is....
[James]
The librarian followed the rest onto the ship, his steps measured despite the rain wanting to soak him. He was deep in thought, wondering which option to use. Though he could use one of the ships meant for racing below deck, it might be more prudent to use something better equipped for battle. He had come across a number of airships in his journeys but none had ever made such an impression as the ones on Dominaria.
That option though was dependent on what lay below deck. Maybe there was something better below. That not being the case, he had his fallback option though there would be room for another student on his ship despite it being a tri-crew ship. Following behind Escaflowne and Stella, he offered it up.
"Seeing as we have multiple racing ships at our disposal it might be prudent to have one meant for battle on our side. As it so happens, I have one that can be summoned. If one of you would like, I have room aboard it for another."
"Airships can't generally be piloted by one person." Athena tucked her fist under her chin, glancing at the other students. "Either we'll all be participating on one airship, or we'll have help."
She sat down, feeling the soft seat relax her back and shoulder muscles, and she shifted around to get comfortable, before taking a bite of the apple that professor had given her. Her first mission this term. She had an example to set.
After a bit of coffee and a few donuts in her office Nova felt sufficiently calmed down to deal with reality since the exploding kitchen incident… She had another cup of coffee and some more donuts, as far as self medication goes 2 cups of very expensive coffee and some deep fried calories with sprinkles is probably preferable to whatever it was a doctor would prescribe for this sort of BS anyways…
Well guess she’d better get busy if tonoight was going to be anything other then a massive clusterfuck… And if her past experience with the demented minds in q-div and the Iteration X was any indication she was going to be well up the proverbial creek without a paddle unless this was as well planned as she had time to make it… First things first though, time to get some stuff going…
“Atma, get me all the regular details required to plan some deep cover wet work behind enemy lines, HD photos of the location, weather, tide plans, wait you know what we need as well as I do, why am I telling you this? Ooh and find out everything you can about this mishra character, the usual deep background stuff, hack whatever you need to hack and apprise the NWO of this op, I suspect they will be pissed if we don’t get it at least listed with them.”
“Hmmm Mishra seems to be some kind of student teacher here something that by the academic rules as I can find them, shouldn’t be possible… Teaches something called “Theory and application of Alchemy” based on the syllabus I pulled off the school’s data server I’m guessing it’s nothing like turning lead into gold, and more something along the lines of meta stable matter states and Bose-Einstein condensates, although they probably have some kind of weird quasi mystical names for the whole thing. The syllabus is sorta lacking on specifics as of now... I can’t find any mention of any military record, or anything like that... He seems to have a thing for blowing up his laboratories which has left him in, according to some less then ideally reliable sources as some form of pure energy being... Guess you’re just going to have to treat him like a civilian expert/VIP or something for the duration of the mission... I know it’s a pain in the ass but that’s just how you are going to have to play things...”
“Okay so I’m hauling around someone who cannot be expected to remain on task when shit hits the fan, guess we’re going to need to go talk to him. And figure out what this whole pure energy thing is about... Might be annoying or useful depending on how things workout... And, of course, it might be interesting to see how he did it, might be possible to do it intentionally rather than by accident...”
And so said Nova went to go and find the guy in question to see what she had been saddled with now…
