OOC: After several computer crashes this post might finally be completed

After Sophia’s outburst and the calm replies of both Ravona and Krego the rest of their class was rather uneventful. Some more small notes were made and Ravona copied them to paper before leaving for class. Ravona returned to her room and did some self study on the books she gotten today. Afterwards she went to the mess hall, of the red section, that was now serving dinner. They were serving some raw fish dish Ravona was familiar, and later not very fond of. Especially wrapping it up in seaweed wasn’t something really appetizing to Ravona. But since she was kinda hungry she ate it anyway.
After dinner Ravona committed herself to training in a separated space again practicing her force magic. Inside the space time past faster than normal so she couldn’t train as much as she wanted. Before going to bed Ravona took her time securing the room with magic. Ravona put several layers of magic some easily detected and others almost impossible, it was an old trick for those more experienced with magic to make one alarm spell that possible intruders would find and deactivate only to let their guard down for a second more dangerous spell. Once asleep, Ravona dreamt a familiar dream.
Dream
Ravona was standing in a dark alleyway watching a vegetable stall across the street. She wasn’t feeling too well. The stone streets were cold to her bare feet, especially during an autumn as chilly as this one. While a sound from her stomach regularly reminded her she hadn’t eaten for two days. The vegetables across the street seemed to be beckoning her but Ravona resisted the temptation for now. It wasn’t the right time, she had to go when the owner was distracted, and if he caught her she wouldn’t have to strength to run away.
Almost an hour passed but nothing happened to get the man off guard. Meanwhile Ravona was getting impatient, as she stared at the stall she realized that sometimes her vision would slightly blur, her body seemed to be failing her faster then she expected. Actually that wasn’t true, she had seen many others in her situation that wouldn’t even be able to stand at this point. Silently Ravona wished for something to happen, she didn’t pray, even if gods existed they didn’t involve them with mortals especially not with the likes of her.
The next moment something happened, Ravona didn’t know what strange twist of fate was at work but suddenly one of the wooden sticks holding up the roof of the stall snapped into two as if broken by an invisible force. Ravona didn’t take time to rationalize what happened and instead jumped out, stumbling as her body wasn’t in much shape to handle to sudden movement. Ravona grabbed an arm full of vegetables and ran as fast as her scrummy legs could carry her back into the alleys, the dark alleys were the only safety for her after all.
Dream end
Ravona woke up, even before opening her eyes Ravona’s mind checked the spells she had placed yesterday, they hadn’t been meddled with. After getting out of bed Ravona finally remembered her dream. She wondered how her life would have been if she had known what she knew now, that the breaking of the stick had been done through her own power. Ravona quickly discarded the thought, master always said that planewalkers till they fully came to power were bound by destiny and not able to escape it. He had also suggested that this perhaps was in compensation for their later lives that were above and beyond the course of destiny. Ravona left the dorms without eating, perhaps the dream had reminded her that she didn’t need three meals a day to survive.
She arrived at the classroom of Miss Nova Carmine ahead of schedule, Ravona hadn’t brought any of the objects the teacher had specified in her message, she had only taken the effort to dress in clothing she didn’t mind getting wet the rest she simply didn’t own. Still Ravona had seen the list and they weren’t really required for her, no matter what Miss Carmine might think.
As the class had assembled and Nova had made everyone go back who didn’t get the items she had listed Ravona remained where she was. As they waited Ravona eyed Nova for a while, she was not really what Ravona had expected from a teacher, blatantly showing off her body when most of the people here were adolescent boys. Ravona wasn’t really sure she wanted to know what Nova was trying to achieve, though perhaps she was just one of those persons who liked to show off what she had just because she could. And Nova did have the necessary looks, even Ravona could tell that.
Once everyone had returned Nova gathered all attention again to speak: “Now I couldn’t get a bus or anything to take it down to the place we are going to day but I realized that that shouldn’t be much of a problem, not in a school like this. As I have previously explained I can’t teleport you myself, both because I don’t have the proper tecknological apparatus and because the resulting backlash might cave the roof in… So Miss Denton, can you demonstrate for the class? We will need a teleportation to the docks, I believe you will be able to help in that regard?”
Ravona raised an eyebrow, as a teacher Nova Carmine was really irresponsible, relying on students to do work she was supposed to do. Also Ravona couldn’t help but notice that Nova was lying when she claimed she couldn’t do it herself.
Ravona replied: “Sure, but I would need to prepare. Really you could have asked this sooner.” Ravona let out the last accompanied with a deep sigh before teleporting back to her room where she started delving through her belongings eventually taking out a small chest. Within the chest were a scroll and two pouches. Ravona teleported back to the class room where the others were still waiting.
Without explaining anything she cleared out a corner of the room from objects using her telekinesis and then emptied one of the pouches there. A silvery dust fell on the floor and seemed to form a perfect circle on its own.
“When the portal opens you can move through right away.”Ravona said before teleporting to the docks where she emptied the second pouch, which formed a similar circle. All that was left now was the spell, Ravona opened the scroll and started chanting the arcane words written upon it. Normally Ravona didn’t use implements like these for her magic but since creating semi permanent portals without such items was still above Ravona’s skill she had too for now. Plus Ravona was planning on billing the cost of the dust to Miss Carmine, and it was by no means cheap.
Ravona finished the spell and a blue and red swirling light created a oval gateway in the air, it was however impossible for anyone to look through it. While waiting for everyone to go through the portal she wondered how many people were prepared for the nauseating effect that traveling through such portals often had.
