Favorite Cid

My favorite goes to FFVII Cid, due to his foul mouthing behavior. He was the only Cid to ever made me really enjoy a Final Fantasy game.

As for the other Cids' go, IV Cid didn't really stick out to me until he jumped off the Airship in the DS version of the game and said "Bombs away!" That for some reason made me laugh hysterically. VI Cid looks like a candy corn. VIII Cid was boring, X Cid was okay but he just doesn't top VII Cid.

my favorite is most definitely VII Cid. he was actually a character with meaning and a rough vocabulary. he was the best of them all. an intelectual Cid is kinda lame and so is a redneck in goggles Cid[X], so a rough red-neck one is perfect.

FFVII Cid, just because of his .... 'colorful' personality, haha. The tea scene is certainly epic.

Though, FFIV's Cid definitely comes close. He was brave, a spaz, and sometimes so sweet, hehe.

FFVII! I loved him a powerful character and also hilarious!
FFIX Cid is a close second a wonderful comedic relief with an importance in the storyline.

Hands down, IV and VIII.
IV- He was just sweet. And he had a badass personality.

VII- I loved using him in game and I love the scene where he runsover Palmer.

FFVII's for sure :wacky:

For one, he is a playable character. Most of the others weren't (I know that FFIV had one too :mokken:)

And he had a very unique personality. He wasn't phony or anything and his cursing made him funny. He was very helpful in battle and in the other games in the compilation, his role was always interesting to me, especially in Dirge.

Cid VII, and Cid IV is a close second. VII is definitely the best playable one, he's awesome and I kept him in my party quite a lot. Love the personality like a lot of people have said, and his attitude fits an airship mechanic the best I think. I like how kooky Cid IV is, and his hammer is cool as a weapon, but I think I'd probably be a little afraid to fly in some of the things he made. :hmmm: Honestly I felt like Cid X was kind of just given the name to keep the Cid theme going, and Cid VI
was a pain in the butt to keep alive in the scene with Celes--even when I can catch those damn fish, he always gets sick from them :(
As far as Cid XII...well, he does look a lot like Balthier :kinky:

Haha everyone mainly chooses VII XD.
I'mma have to agree though. He was a playable character (which was badass since not all cid's are playable) He was always funny and livened up the game with his personality and curse words. He was always a fun character in VII and I like him :D

no doubt about it, its cid highwind. best final fantasy character ever. he has a great personality, is a useable characters, uses spears, had some great limit breaks

and the best part was when you actually get to control him in the game and not just the battle and his running motion was just great. that was argubly the best part of final fantasy 7, using cid to run around the world map

I tend to like a lot of the Cid's. I liked FFIV's Cid, FFV's Cid, FFVI's Cid, FFVII's Cid, FFVIII's Cid, FFIX's Cid, and FFX's Cid. I hadn't got to the point in FFXII where you meet FFXII's Dr. Cid, but I know he is meant to be great, and he does sound great.

Out of all of them I think I probably liked FFVII's the best, though I prefer to think of him in terms of the original game where he was older, and before he de-aged and became youthful again. He had some funny comments, and I really felt for him with his backstory, and I was happy for him when he finally made it into
space
.

I think FFIX and FFIV's Cid come second to me. FFIX was quite funny as he kept being
transformed into different creatures and we only really saw his human form late in the game.
And FFIV's Cid was just funny and mad in general... Who offers to throw
themselves off a ship with explosives to blow themselves up
?

I do like FFVI's Cid a lot too, but he wasn't seen as much as the other ones I have mentioned, and therefore he comes afterwards.

I liked the majority of the Cids actually. The only one I really disliked was Cid Kramer from FF VIII. His character just didn't appeal to me at all.

I guess my overall favorite would be Cid from FF VII. I really enjoyed his character. I loved how he tried to be tough but you could tell he was a big softie on the inside.

I also reopened the poll since the thread discussion is still going on. :awesome:

My favorite Cid would have to be FFXII's, Cidolfus Demen Bunansa. I really can't explain why other than the fact that his design and voice actor were spot on. Not to mention that the
battles with him
were extremely fun and well thought out.

I actually quite liked FFVIII's Cid. Sure, he wasn't that big of a character, but he was there for most of the time and helped out Squall and co. He did play a part in the storyline, but wasn't as big as, say, FFVII's Cid.

VII Cid Highwind, because he is so hot ;)

XII Dr. Cid would be 2nd for me (being the father of the sexy Balthier... I see some resemblance)

I'm so shallow...

Cid Highwind all the way, the guy was hilarious!

Like someone has mentioned already, he was the closest thing to an actual person in that game - he swore and smoked!

Legend.

I liked the one from FFX. He was a tough guy who wanted to blow everything up.

All Cids we've seen so far have been interesting in their own individual ways. I quite like the majority of them as well. I love FFVII's Cid a lot. He would make me laugh a lot with excellent dialogue especially as he would curse constantly. I remember one line in DoC that had me in stitches, something about taking people who die back from hell to kill them again. xD Not a lot of characters do that, and certainly no other Cid can be a party member as well.

However, I would actually go with FFXIII's Cid Raines as my current favourite. He is certainly a very different kind of Cid. Although how he is handled in the story is
a little disappointing
, I still admire what he stands for. I won't go too much into it for fear of major spoilers, but despite his perceived position as
a mere servant of the Fal'Cie
, he is still determined through whatever means possible to
make the people of Cocoon rule for themselves.
I love his design and voice actor as well. Though he will never be a very popular Cid, he is undoubtedly a very interesting and different kind of Cid.

Gotta say I loved FFX's COd, classic -- reminded me of FFVII cid but with a daughter and son and relaed to the Heroine -- I loved how he and Tidus butted heads from time to time.

But I did love FFVII's Compilations Cid -- DoC Cid is priceless :x3:

Highwind.
He was pretty cool :3

I think 8's was kinda lame, and I don't even remember 9.
X cid was okay.

Cid from FFVII is awesome. He reminds me of the Cid in FFX in some ways, in the way that he takes no crap from anyone, on first impression, he seems like a really tough guy, but deep down, you know he has kind feelings towards a lot of things, which makes the character that much more interesting.

Great character. Great Cid!

FFVII's Cid is the best hands down! He's so loud and foul-mouthed! I've never even seen a character like him before. Plus, he's the only attractive one of them all.

He's got that hard-ass personality which is such a change! So, yea, he's my favorite!
