Cough cough.... lmfao.... my favorites here are Cloud and Sephiroth.... Cloud because his whole storyline in general was of god like proportion, although he is kinda like Squall, although it doesn't take Cloud as long to come out of his shell as Squall did.

And Sephiroth because....well... he's the One Winged Angel. Wielding like a 13' long sword with one hand... (oddly reminds me of Zaraki from Bleach, not the long sword part though, the one handed part).
 
Cloud, :monster: He was my favorite Final Fantasy protagonist. His back story was just so appealing and His swords were all cool. Also, his problem with Sephiroth make him extremely interesting. I swear, you made this just so you could upload those pics, didnt you? :wacky:
 
Cloud, for obvious reasons. He's in your group almost all throughout the entire game, and his limit breaks (especially Omnislash) kick way too much ass. And, out of all the characters, I found his story the most interestiing.
 
Vincent, most definitely. Cloud was cool and all, but I never got attached ot his character the same way I did Vincent... Which is strange, considering the lack of character Vincent shows at times. xD

However, his design, backstory, weapons and limits are all my favourites in the game (first time through, I was underlevelled against Diamond, and only survived because Hellmasker was attacking constantly and killed it when Cloud and Yuffie were KO'd xD).
 
Yuffie,mostly. Don't know why but there's something about me and teavies
 
Red XIII and Yuffie. They were, in my opinion, the best ones to play. They were most great characters and very strong to have on the team. :P
 
Sephiroth was not a playable character. He was an ally or assistant in the FB, but you could not control his commands, you couldn't touch his materia, you couldn't alter his equipment, or anything... He was, quite literally, someone who you went into battle beside.

Also, is there a reason why Cid or Aeris are left out?

Cid is one of my favorite FF characters ever. Great in combat and has a funny personality. "Sit down and drink your goddamn tea!" I love it. Also, his cigarette falling out of his mouth was one of the only things I liked in the ending FMV. He is closely followed by Barret.
 
I enjoyed unsing Vincent. His Limit transformations were incredably powerful, and I kinda related to his silent, brooding personality when I first played through the game.

Definitely. I really liked how she reacted on the search for
Cloud, when he's at the Mideel hospital
, and they'd come past villages, I loved the concern Tifa showed. I think i's something that's overlooked, but she has an amazing character I think, really.

My favorite must of been Yuffie, simply because I love Yuffie's style and costume, and her weapons of choice - sneaky little ninja warrior, love at first sight when she stole all the materies from Avalanche.

There are other characters I really enjoy too, but as of now, Yuffie tops my list.
 
Cloud by far, mostly because he's whatever you want him to be. You don't want a overly serious protagonist, sure Cloud can be the sort of guy that'll tell the story about how he snuck into his childhood friends bedroom and stole her underwear to the entire group including the girl in question too if you want too.
 
Hm. Well, personality-wise I really liked Yuffie. When she
stole our Materia
all I could think was, "...Is she being serious right now?" But I couldn't be mad because of her constant upbeat attitude. One-note? Maybe, but I saw her as doing the best she could with what she had. It was a marked difference from most of the other characters.

Playability-wise, I like Cid and Cloud. Both are very strong physically and, though I probably shouldn't have, I loaded them with some magic Materia as well and they didn't do too badly.
 
Hmmm my favorite playable VII character is Tifa because she is strong and I like her limit breaks. Shes also got the moves if you know what I mean xDDD. Where is Aerith? She was the best party member for healing...
 
Good pick, Shirona. Tifa is a great character! Especially in battle. If I could cut Cloud out and have my team made with only Red XII, Yuffie and Tifa, I'd be extremely happy :>
 
the best playable character is nanaki, not just because he is a talking dog but funny and cool at the same. Great limits breaks and awesome fight animation. My party would consist of Cloud, Barrent, Nanaki, also if aeris/aerith was still alive to then end then she would be in the party for the simple fact is that her limit breaks are most useful in battle Great Gospel
 
I'm going to have to go with Cid to be honest. :x He always seemed to be a character I ended up wanting in the group each time I played FFVII

It has to be Cid. My favourite part of the entire game was on the runaway train with him, Vincent, and Barret - what a trio! I love the way he runs. I love the fact that he's not all broody and emo. I love the way he takes a celebratory puff on his cig when he wins a battle (I love the way he fights with the cig in his mouth!). He's a problem solver. He's such a man. If I were a man I'd want to be Cid. As it is.....

Tifa is a close second. Love her.

I'm glad they left that in! It seems like cigarettes get edited out of everything today.

Yeah, I never really got attached to Cloud, either. And his forms are so cool! But he had to be in your party, so had to play him. Every time I play, I get Vincent right away. (It's easy with Aerith's limit break. Sry I always call her Aerith and not Aeris ><) So he's always in my party!

I had a similar occasion, except I lost. I was fighting Ruby Weapon and Cloud and Red both got sucked down into the depths of the sand! And Vincent ended up soloing Ruby for 5 or 7 minutes until he got sucked under, too. I dont think I've ever defeated Ruby Weapon, just the other two. Ultimate was easy for me. Anywho,

I always use:
Vincent, Red XIII, and Cloud
