I was never about the graphics, I loved the storyline alot, but the graphics were pretty bad, FF6 graphics were better even if it was a SNES game, the graphics were beyond the SNES capabilities.
I don't care for graphics, as long as the game is good I don't care. And besides the only bad thing about the graphics was when you were walking around, the battle graphics weren't half as bad as that and I mean it was a while ago so it was good for one of the first games out on Playstation, but of course still nothing compared to what followed.
you were rigth guys the history of this game is really awesome in fact that i couln`t sleep three days thinking about this game. i only want your opinion bonjour.
the game itself overall i give it a perfect score for everything, cause when you look at the graphics for when the game came out it knocked pretty much everything else out of the water. so at the time of the technology the graphics were completely pwnge of everything else os i admire the grpahics greatly, im a big fan of the graphics as well as everything else about it
The graphics didn't and still don't bother me at all, even though society has been spoiled with nearly movielike quality gaming graphics. This game's storyline is particularly what drew me in. The FMV sequences were awesome as well. As nice as it would be so to see the game remade with the high quality graphics, this game will always have a special place in my heart because of the storyline, not the graphics.
Graphics don't highly contribute to the gameplay, to me. I get engrossed in the story, not in the details. Although they do increase your appreciation, they're not necessary for a "great" game.
The graphics never really bothered me. They were good for their time and to me the storyline and characters within it are what really matters. I love that game and nothing will ever change that least of all the graphics.
I thought the graphics were great! It was my first game for the PSone, so I didn't have anything to compare it to but the old Sega Genesis I was about to stuff in my closet. It was three-dimensional, and I was happy.
Looking back, my view is still a little "clouded" (HAH) because I like this game so much, but I still like the graphics. The magic spells blew me away.
Played this for the first time about 4 years ago at the same time as FFX so the graphics weren't at a high level compared to that, didn't stop me enjoying it though. Graphics aren't everything (That comment goes to all PS3 fanboys).
Well, I heard it was originally supposed to come out for Dreamcast, but I guess a few things happened, so it came out for PS. Logical, considering it was the first FF game that came out for PS.
But, yeah, I agree. I shrugged off the graphics and continue loving it.
I always thought that the thing about being super deformed and realistic in battle was kinda lame but I guess that goes with the anime theme. I loved the color theme for the game. I remember them being cheerful and making the appeal of the world pleasing to the eye. Some parts of the world were ugly like the mountain ranges around Cloud's and Tifa's hometown.
I personally thought that some of the summoning were kinda lame though but I give them props. It was Square's first major 3D RPG. I really loved how each weapon was designed so good.
When I think of FFVII, I don't really remember much except it was too long to level or something, mini-games and a few other things.
It was a good game but never really did have that same appeal as FF6.
