FF7 a very good game how about the graphics

Graphics were bad,but they just make the game a little overall better and better graphics=not so much hurts in eyes.
I don't often care bout graphics,I care about gameplay and story

I wasn't impressed with the graphics, possibly because I didn't play the game in 1997, but somewhere in 1998/1999. I owned a N64 at the time, so it wasn't anything new.

Some of the backgrounds were pretty cool, but other designs were just poor and bland. Midgard was an intense experience, but later on there were more and more uninteresting and recycled environments. No matter how many polygons you put in a rockwall, it will remain a boring rockwall.

But what annoyed me most where the character models outside of battle. I thought they looked ridiculous and undetailed. I always thought Squaresoft could have gotten better results if they had used sprites, like in Star Ocean 2 for instance.

The graphics realy didn't matter to me it was the story line and the fmv's that was great. The graphics were awesome at the time the ps1 was released and i still love it.

the game was awesome as it is :D - the bad graphivs didnt really bother me in the slightest, people nowadays who want to play an awesome game just by-pass FF7 because of its graphics - those people are stupid and are just graphic whores.

You can't really blame people for wanting some nice visuals, de graphics are part of the experience. The graphics are used to tell a story, create and athosphere. If the player thinks the graphics get in the way of the storytelling or even the gameplay, I can't really blame them for having no interest in continuing the game.

I just can't say Final Fantasy is a beautiful game, it hasn't aged that well. Does that make me a graphicwhore? No, just prefer style over polycount, especially when it was done the right way. When you look at Final Fantasy VII, you can see the developers were still learning how to handle the new hardware and possibilities.

I prefer looking at game like Legend of Mana, Lunar and Fire Emblem. Those games look polished, you can see the designers were able to create the graphics they were aiming for.

Graphics really don't mean much to me, I suppose the graphics were good for the games time, but yea, I'll agree, the graphics really blew.

I didn't really care much for graphics back then. I was only about 10 years old when I first came across it at my cousin's house. I just thought that the game was incredible and I really wanted it for myself so much that I borrowed it from my cousin many times. A brilliant game, so no, I don't really care about the graphics.

The graphics suck by todays standards but it doesn't ruin the game that much unless you go into it for the first time today with too high expectations. The game itself in terms of gameplay still works fine enough and hasn't aged as bad as the earlier titles although it is itself very basic.

By todays standards, everything over 4 years old sucks. But I don't care about today. The best games were made back when graphics didn't mean anything, it was a solid storyline and good gameplay that made the game, not the fancy-schmancy graphics.

Some of the AMV sequences that were in the game (KOTR summon) were really pushing the limits of the PS then. If all you care about is graphics, you will never know what a truly good game is like.

I don't agree. When you look at games like Legend of Mana, it's obvious the designers put a lot of thought and work into the graphics in order to create that magical world.

Graphics have always been important. Not only do they need to be functional, they also have an aesthetic value in most cases. Look at a game like Super Metroid, those bosses look creepy and the caverns have this claustophobic athosphere. Looking at an old game like that, can you really say the graphics didn't matter, that they are an unimportant aspect of the game? Even in a game like Tetris (Gameboy) the graphics matter, without those highly functional designs the game would be unplayable.

Oh and the limits of the system will always be the same. In the case of Final Fantasy VII (and practically all other games from those years) the developers were the bottleneck.

Back in the day, they were the best graphic's going! ^^ It had a good story, and the graphic's weren't TERRIBLE. : O They were decent, the game was good, the characters were.. I enjoyed the story the most, the graphic's never really bothered me.

The game had some great rendered backgrounds and it was better then most 3d rpg's on the ps1 except for the ff8 graphics.

I started out playing FFVII on the pc and at the time I didn't pay attention 2 the graphics or lack of voices since I had nothing else to base it on. Now that I've played FFX I would love to have better graphics and voices but nevertheless, I love the story still.

Ugh.
No matter where I go, I keep hearing people refer to FFVII as if AC was really a part of the story line. I hate that.
AC almost ruined FFVII for me...

You know something, I don't think voices are a good idea.
FFXII's voiceovers were alright, but FFX...

Lulu was a raspy smoker
Seymore sounded like piglet
Tidus had a cracky 13 year old voice
Yuna had a stuttering problem

Back in the day, FF VII graphics were the fucking DON! Sure the field characters could have done with abit of touching up but other than that they were the best around and highly impressive. It was not long after VIII and possibly IX that everyone started slagging off VII's graphics. Arseholes

FF7 actually had really good graphics when it came out. The FMVs were amazing and clobbered anything on the market at the time. It's like saying FFXs graphics are crappy (because next to XII and XIII they kind of are), but at the time, they were top of the line.

And for those of you who crave top of the line graphics, I'm sure VII will be remade just like every FF before it.

Yeah it was a great game and when it came out the graphics were great beside the walking around parts, the battles and fmv were good compared to what had already come out and graphics mean little to me as long as the game is good.

They've done everything that can possibly be done with FFVII EXCEPT remaking it! Rggggggghh!
